The Demolition Car is ready for WAR!
Dude that is awesome great job
Sounds great! What kind of mod was done?
the flowmaster helps allot. 302 straight piped sounds not that good in my opinion. the 40 series makes it sound good
Onward and upward brother 🫡
hi boss wht about oxygen sensor you fix back
👍👍
V8 rule 👍👍
How thick are those 2 long pieces of wood and are still use the stock push rod?
I'm guessing he already had upgraded lifters, push rods, valve springs and rocker trunions or rockers from the previous cam. Depending how many miles and how wild your new cam is, using the old stuff might be a bad idea.
Nice tidy job. Good explanation and demonstration of how it works. Thank you.
Love the color of blue!! If I wasn’t so darn old I’d love to drive one of these, I’ll just drive my C7 corvette on the weekends. You’re a beast driving this on that closed course WOW!!!
M16x1.5
Is it the same for 2021 850i?
it should be very similar, but i have not worked on that engine
Thank you
Sick!!!
What size wooden dowels?
Would this process work on a 88 notchback?
Yes, Everything is the same back there.
@@Sgt.Slides thank you for the quick response… I will be doing this on my notch this weekend, take care
@@mitch714 good luck, dont get frustrated putting the pump back it. Twisting that thing just right is pretty challenging.
@@Sgt.Slides 😅yeah I know that’s going to be a bit challenging but it beats paying $200 in labor to someone else
Bro. Thanks. I remember and credit your video, but I failed to set the cam/crank timing B4 I pulled my sprocket off and removed my plate so I'm going to get to pull my heads off yet again. Though I think I should go afford some 0.20 OS rings and do that so I'm mentally good for my desired 500hp
ah, sucks when you skip a dumb step and now you gotta redo everything. Good Luck.
@@Sgt.Slides well brother no better way to learn new lessons than through experience. And now I figure no better time to go big and go home and do gapless piston and ring set up. This way regardless of whatever happens to this truck the next owner or whoever I can be proud of what I did. These GM motors are pretty cool though and build it with a vortec block like I got man 😎 thank you for sharing I'd love to see some videos of that little fox body on the track if you have a link to share.
How many hours did it take you??
maybe about 4 at a non rushing pace.
I spot an 8.2 deck on the stand, what's the specs on that? On a side note, you didn't mention anything about conductive ptfe hose vs nonconductive ptfe hose, I was just reading into that aspect, and it seems the white teflon linings aren't conductive, meaning a static charge can build up in the fuel line with no ground to dissipate it, so it zaps to the braided stainless sheath, which apparently can cause a leak and/or fire issue, whereas, the conductive ptfe liner safely dissipates the charge into the chassis ground via the fittings.
Great video! I was considering trying this on my 2024 M8 GC but after watching this, ill pay a professional. What air intake is that? Love the look and with the boxes, replacing or cleaning the air filter seems much easier than the Eventuri.
good question, i dont think i even noticed the intake, sorry, i dont know.
How are you able to remove the wish bone piece from the strut in the front... im having the hardest time with clearance. Its hitting the axle.
hey, sorry i take forever to respond these days. Did you figure it out? Try pushing down on the suspension and pulling outward on the strut, or even unbolting the strut to get it to move a bit.
@Sgt.Slides yes i ended up removing the upper control arm.
Nice headlight vents
Wow thank you for clearing it up and simplified everyone else I seen makes some great big project out of it to confuse a person but also they did that installing 2018 interior and I simplified it I and came out cleaner then on Internet
yeah, it's a fairly simple concept, but it's not as simple as just bolting it in like people like to say at car shows lol.
I know this is an older video, but I have noticed a couple of things that may or may not be correct in my way of thinking. It appears that the push rod that is connected to the cantilever from your a-arm is an an angle less than 90* and will get more "less than 90*" as it goes through it's travel. On the shock side of the cantilever, the shock looks like it is at 90* and with suspension compression that angle will get to be larger than 90*. This might be a regressive effective spring rate as opposed to progressive. Meaning the effective "spring rate" is getting softer as the suspension travels. Have you noticed more body roll since the mod? Could this be why you aren't as fast on the track? I dig how clean this set up is and I think it is awesome there are still people out there that build stuff. My moto is "I built it and I can tweak it into perfection." Beautiful car and awesome work.
Nice observation on the angles. First off, the strut side is right at 90 degrees, so no issue there, however, yes the push rod side is a bit less than 90, but one side not optimized isn't enough to cause diminished spring rate and body roll. The car is stiffer now which is what i needed. As far as why the car is "slower" now is because in drifting, even though your wheels are spinning, and the car is sliding, you do still need grip for speed and control as you slide thru the corners. Making your car super stiff in the rear is a trick used by really low hp cars to reduce grip just so they can get their wheels spinning. When you actually make power, you can go softer in the rear for more grip and you can drift a lot faster. Now that I have made the rear stiffer, I have given up some grip which will cost me some speed. It's not a big deal to me, i drive this car for fun, and i dont need to be faster than anyone, so its better for me to go a smidge slower at the track and not smash my fenders.
Where was the IRS purchased?
from a local guy on Craigslist.
@@Sgt.Slides Thank You!
hola alguien podría ayudarme com datos reales si puedo usar solo downpipes primarios y reinstalar los secundarios. Way to trash a FOXBODY.... Thats a CRIME....
Good video, im going to make my own deck and wounder how thick it is and is it enough?
Good job ha I've got the same welder. It's lasted for years. Flux core sucks but it's convenient
What size flares are those, the 3 or 4" ?
Did this to mine, went to the scrapyard and found a perfect plate to cover this new access, I think it was from a ford focus. Even had a rubber gasket on it for a nice little seal.
New cars were designed to have an access port for the fuel pump. That was taken into account by the extremely educated engineers for structural integrity. You saying you’re not hurting anything structurally is the same as you cutting a hole in your roof and bolting a piece of plexiglass and calling it fine. 😂😂😂hack alert
yes its a hack, no you dont understand what provides structure or support. Why do you watch videos on modding cars. you probably shouldn't be touching anything that was designed perfectly my skilled engineers who considered every scenario before hand.
the answer is very simple. Calling hacks out and hopefully other people won’t do what you did. Hack as is a really crappy job not as a quality shortcut. There was a company that made a kit for this maybe 15 years ago. When the kit was used they tied in the metal around it. That was the only way to do it correctly. Unfortunately it wasn’t to popular because people figured out why there were burning through pumps was inadequate wiring and a tiny return line when they used a 255lph pump.
@@angry408w7 well thx for policing youtube things you wouldn't try. gotta kill time somehow while your car's in the dealership with real mechanics I guess. My pockets arent that deep.
Did you use a jack to get underneath?
yes, actually 2 jacks
That is a ifv
How do the dowels hold the lifters in place,,,,,?
Bass fishing productions
My factory gm trays have been good for 100s of passes at 7200. My cam is 235/239 0.628/0.632. I did have issues due to valve float at 8500 on a mechanical over Rev. Beat up the rollers and lobes. Trays are solid still but I'm replacing.
Fantastic little video. Looking at a similar solution for my BMW m3 e36. Kit prices are insane for what is a bit of fabrication and welding and parts from the wreckers.
I had to change the cam in mind I just loosen the oil pump up a little bit to make sure I put it on the time in mark I like the video and where did you purchase those sticks from or did you have them made
I got em from lowes in the wood section, you can probably find them in craft stores as well.
Did you like the swap? What benefits did you see?
I absolutely LOVE the swap. The biggest difference i have noticed is the ride quality cruising is much better, the car is much more planted hitting bumps in the road, The suspension is also much more tunable, although i'm not really making continuous adjustments. I do frequently see people asking if IRS will make their car "better", but in my opinion it's really a matter of personal prefrence. Cobra IRS parts have become very expensive now, and there are a lot of solid axle upgrades out there that can make your car "better" as well, but for me, it's the IRS.
Exactly what i was looking for
What power steering fluid did you use?
What about copper tube as fuel line do you think it will do better?
Those relays it is hard to find 😢 long wires
Very informative stuff about the foxbodys thanks 😁😎✌️
Thanks you 😊
Mhmm that Flowmaster 40 with catless H-Pipe is the best!
Did it and it still doesn't work, fuckin hell
I broke the tip off a factory pushrod last year and wasted the rocker at the same time, guess I shouldnt have skipped the hardend pushrods lol
Hardened push rods are so that they dont wear out against the guide plates. Your broken push rod was the result of a different defect.
@@Sgt.Slides weak factory pushrod with 2 step, factory pushrods not up to the task and deflecting until it broke
@@Sgt.Slides if I would have seen this a year ago I could have sent you a rocker arm if you needed it, I had the same ones and ended up replacing all 16
@@tufgriz8917 oh, yeah, well 2 step is hard on the top end, not sure exactly why, but if you smashed a push rod 2 stepping, im not really surprised. OHC moters will snap rocker arms on 2 step.
@@Sgt.Slides ya the factory pushrods with the press in balls are not the best, hardened one piece is the way to go
Those sparks could made a problem glad that tank didn't catch no spark good job thow bro
you can't really set fire to the outside of a gas tank, why does everyone think im telling people to cut the tank open? That would cause a massive explosion.
