- Unfortunately the movie scenes from the Movie "Beverly Hills Cop II" were
pulled from this Music Video by its producers at Paramount; days before release. The Video was still released with out using the movie clips - because the single was already in the top 5. As a producer; it was disappointing not to see the original concept come to fruition -. but happy for The Jets to have such a successful tune. By the way this was the first ever Music Video shot on the sound stage at Prince's Paisley Park Studios. I have the rights to publish this video. It shows my filming and editing capabilities only!

I was 4 1/2 years old when this released. It topped the charts on the 4th of July which was the last summer my family & I lived in East Keansburg, New Jersey (we moved to Deposit, New York by Nov 22nd that year). I miss being a child in the 80s.

I'm just really getting into The Jets, my mom loves them. The level of talent is pretty crazy. Watching their videos, their rehearsals...all that movement and energy is beautiful to see. Even when you see other groups from the time that sang and dance, I don't think you see many that moved like this.

They did virtually every Music Show on TV in the 1980's. American Bandstand, Soul Train and even went across the ocean to do Top Of The Pops, England's Longest Running Music Show. Alot of US Stars appeared on the show. Nu Schooz, The Jackson Five, Stevie Wonder, Debbie Gibson. It was also the Show that George Michael made his UK Debut as a member of Wham in 1982.

I had this soundtrack along with the 1st soundtrack to the 1st movie as well on cassette, I have them somewhere but no tape player anymore to play them... I liked this song for the tight harmonies and upbeat feel, and great lead vocals...

Nope. Stephen Bray and Tony Pierce are the composers. Bray is known for his work with Madonna.

Shame on the film company for not mentioning the person that CREATED the song, Mr. Stephen Bray, the first songwriter for Madonna, and who, along with Patrick Leonard, stayed with Madonna to write some of her best songs ever. And he was a black, guy, too. From Detroit. Does that matter? It does to me. I'm a gay, Catholic, Mexican, Trump-lover from New Mexico. // That being said, I offer a bit of analysis. My pitch is usually spot-on, and I thought I was hearing this song in Ab-flat minor (ice blue) , but I checked on my piano next to my computer here, and it's actually in A-minor (blue-violet, or electric blue). The short analysis is this: Love songs are constantly being written in C major (red), because C is the most fiery-sounding note. The secret to this song is that it is written in the "relative minor" of C, which is A-minor. This minor-key has the same elements of C (in fact it's the only minor key that shares the exact same notes as C major), but those elements are in a dark form. Therefore when the pretty girl sings "Can't get you off my mind, for leaving me this time. I'm still . . . In love with you," it reveal the dark tones that love itself can sometimes take us to. This love-lorn darkness is the reason it was written in A-minor, not C major. But the song is still about love. If the song were in A-flat is would have been about death. I'm a former news producer and I appreciate good shots and good editing to tell the story. I'm not a fan of millons of special effects for every frame. I guess I'm old school!

The Sylvers and in their own way The Jacksons as a whole don't hold a candle to these guys, in Las Vegas Rebbie, LaToya and Janet didn't play musical instruements. Although they sued each other over ownership names, at least they didn't end up in prison or on drugs. I hope that Eugene's Death made them realize that life is too short to be petty. Also look at The Carter Family, out of the five children only two are still alive, Nick & Angela (Aaron's Twin Sister).
