Thanks for watching!
I have always loved the no fender, no chop with splash apron look. The extra "weight" of the aprons balances the tall top and gives perfect proportions.
Ya I agree... I added them to my roadster also.
The second spring looked great.😊
Thanks!
Love Model A’s and what you’re doing with ‘em! “Rubber rake” lol, first time hearing that but yes I’ve always loved the look of big ‘n littles on early hot rods!
New sub👊🏻✌🏻🇨🇦
Thanks for watching!
Rubber rake is a term from the 50s.
I hope Matt you aren't changing you Theme Song to your channel ------ I missed it today ------- The music makes a great introduction when you come on --------- You got the stance looking pretty good there ------- and sounds like you will be running fenders ------ Will see what is up next ----- Have a Good Week ----- Rodney
Just experimenting with different openings. Hope you have a good week too!
Experimenting is learning. Hope the viewers appreciate that your having gone through several trial fits attempting to dial in that "just right look" is not uncommon. I've lowered a lot of different old Fords and I'm not sure I've ever done any two exactly alike. Each car, and the chosen theme for that car, requires it's own configuration. Another consideration, this car being an example, once you load it up with upholstery, windshield, fluids, and whatever else, you'll probably gain another 1/2" or so of total drop.
Yep! Sometimes you gotta let the car tell you what it wants! I didn't cut out the part with the first spring. Because I want people to see that it's not all just 1 and done, like on TV. Thanks for watching Bob!
Hey @rodderbob, send me your address, sending you a little something for naming Winnie. Seattlespeedshop206@gmail.com
It's looking great Matt! Same way I've done mine.750 and 450 are the way to go.imo.
Playing the spring dance, in and out a bunch until it finally looks like what you want. It never seems to be a one and done process.
Nope, can't have it the easy way!
Doing a few of these has had its advantages
Spring behind will lower it as well.
Thanks ! The water injetion guys just did not use water ! Thanks Straight Ahead ✌😎
Hi guys from Victoria Australia 🇦🇺
Hello!!! And welcome!
Enjoy your channel. You do a good job with show and tell. Know of any 28-29 pick up projects that are for sale
Not currently. But stuff is constantly coming and going around here.
She's going to turn some heads!
Thanks!
Very cool!
Looking good Matt!
Thank you!
If you remove and raise the top of the front crossmember you can lower it even more. Just be sure the top of the crossmember is at an angle for positive caster.
I like the 600x16 and 700x16 look
Yeah it's a little more subtle.
Reverse the eyes, perform the vern tardell frame step,,remove 2 leafs, create spacer to replace removed springs.,this leaves 2inches clearence if you want to run fenders.
proper stance boys
Thanks dude!
Looks good
Very informative. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
I love the stance, similar lowering to my coupe .What measurement do you have at the edge of the side skirt where it goes flat after the curve as a comparison to mine ? mine is 9" edge to the concrete .Brilliant content for budding traditional hot rod builders
Looks like 8-1/2". Thanks for the compliment!
Looks great to me too. Thanks for NOT putting a 32 grill on the A!
It was my wallets choice!
Hello. I have a '39 coupe. Will a '40 brake drum/hub fit the '39 spindles?? I think they will, just need to verify. Thanks
It will.
Many thanks@@Seattle_Speed_Shop
Do you find the stock Model A rear end is usable with hopped up 4 banger and flathead motors? I noticed you have a quick change rear end in your video standing by??
With anything, it's a case of whether you abuse it or not. I try and be gentle to model A rear ends. I haven't broken one yet. But i don't do clutch dumps on pavement either. I do drive them hard. And put miles on them, but I've never broken one. The other rear end you see is actually just a later flathead v8 rear. Not a quick change. Just replacing an axle in that that broke. (SBC powered). I do plan on going over updating a model A to V8 rear in a future video.
Use a reverse eye spring, good for another inch.
All good mods you've suggested!
You should step the frame, its good for about 4 inches.
Possible future mod! Shhhh... Don't tell anyone 😉
What is the drop on a 1932 axle? From a Model A.
I believe 1 inch 32-36
Matt... just curious , how does a factory Ford suspention & running gear hold up to a set of 60 or 50 series tires ? does it over stress things ?
It will be fine. Your biggest issue will be steering at low speeds.
just a thought as all my experience is with 70s & 8os GMs .... frame s & suspentions are alot heavier & I know big wide tires really load up the components;;; just curious @@Seattle_Speed_Shop
No it doesn't
