Due to surgery many years ago, I'm not required to mikveh ---- but I did have to, when I converted. It was the most traumatic experience, and I just cried and cried while watching your video to realise how much of a special experience I missed out on.
Wow thanks for sharing your comment touched me deeply. Gd gives us the tools we need to live our best life. I wonder why you it was traumatic for you. You didn’t miss out on anything, you’re living the life Gd chosen for your path, how difficult or how amazing the path is! Shabat shalom and may you both have a sweet and connective Shabat ✨
You’re 100% correct… after immersing in the Mikvah, it truly is a feeling of rebirth. The complete peace which follows immersion is the most wonderful feeling. Thanks for sharing a tour of your local Mikvah! 😃
Thank you Leah 🌺 What a beautiful mitzvah 😭 It's so amazing how the Jewish people have been observing this beautiful mitzvahs for thousands of years. Baruch Hashem ❤ Do you have a favorite beach in Israel?
Stacy shalom! Yes its very special Im glad you enjoyed the video. The nearest beach to us in Netanya, its BEAUTIFUL there so I love it. I also lived on Tel Aviv Beach and a kibbutz beach, so theyre also special to me. Do you have any? 💦
While I am not Jewish, i find this to be sooooo beautiful. In my practice we have "Spiritual Baths". Its very similar. Its a bath to purify your spirit and mind. We add goats milk, herbs, petals and we sit and reflect. I like pray and ask for guidance in my life. I was taught to do mines during the sunday after after my menstrual cycle. But since I am newely pregnant, I do it every new moon. Its a beautiful way to tap into your femininity and god
Wow thanks for sharing! So many ways we can find inner peace and pray. Water is the source of it all, and Gd of course. Your baby now is swimming in water all the time, May your baby be healthy, wise & connected to meaningful and good things in life. Blessings to you may you have e a healthy and meaningful pregnancy !!
I liked seeing the ancient one - and that the modern one looks so similar. It makes me think about these rituals that have been done over thousands of years . Thank you for sharing this with us!!
Judith thank you tons, your comment truly means a lot. I put a lot of love and I share insights I've learned from myself or studying throughout the years. May you have a rejuvenating day!
As always, thank you so much for posting! I enjoy your videos and appreciate how you and your family live and how you and your husband explain the rituals. Have a most wonderful day!
it was a fun video, one of my favorite things to do. Happy we can learn together, have a rejuvenating day Clarissa! Maybe you should have a youtube channel with info called 'Clarissa Explains it all' .. get it or no? :)
My late mother really wanted me to go to mikva even though we were never observant jews. 9 years into my marriage and my mother no longer in my life i have discovered the beauty and importance of this ritual. I really regret not listening to my mother...😢
Leah, kol hakavod on a beautiful video. Amazing editing and graphics, compelling story telling, well structured and with so much neshamah. I loved every minute of it and it was so relatable, human and joyful. Thank you for casting such an important mitzvah in such a joyful light.

Leah this video is beautiful. I have been desiring to Mikvah regularly since we were Mikvah in Israel at Engedi. What are the Mikvah requirements for senior jewess who are new in The Faith? Todah Rabbah❤
So happy you enjoyed! Great question. I took my mom to the mikveh a couple years ago, it was incredibly special. Let me know if this answers your question and also to reach out to a local othrthdox Rabbi or Rebbetzin to see where you can go to a mikveh ____________ Voluntary Immersion Some women specifically miss the experience of immersing in the mikveh. It is permissible for a married woman to use the mikveh even if she is not halachically obligated to do so. Thus, she may visit the mikveh voluntarily. If a woman was not niddah (menopause or clean for 7 days) and is immersing voluntarily, she does not need to perform all of the preparations. She does not recite a bracha upon immersion, but may recite other prayers after immersion. An especially appropriate time to visit the mikveh may be on erev Yom Kippur. In many communities, the custom to immerse on that day includes both single and married women, as well as men (one should check ahead of time about hours and arrangements). This immersion is for spiritual purification and is not halachically required. Therefore, one does not need to prepare and does not recite a bracha.
Hi Leah, I have a question. Could you make a video about "The tree of knowledge of good and evil" and what it all means? I'd love to hear you & your husband's perspective, since I think you both know a lot more than I do. I'm curious what God meant about this.
Can I ask does the same rule apply to say a teenager when she first starts her period and cycle does she have to go to a mikvah also thanks for sharing
Rachael good question thanks for asking! Niddah is a commandment and ritual around a married woman's monthly cycle. So if you’re not married you don’t have to go to mikveh. When I was not married and in my 20s I had a Rabbi say it’d be a good idea to go to the mikveh before Rosh Hashana to feel good and rejuvenate. Women used to get married younger, so they had less heavy energy on them. So I was told this will help me cleanse this. I went with a friend it was special. But not as special as it is being married and doing the mitzvah. Also I think if someone has an illness, Gd forbid, and they don’t go to the mikveh, my intuition tells me it’d be healing for their body mind and soul. Also my mother never went to the mikveh, I took her a couple years ago, it was extremely special and emotional. If you go later in life, spiritually it’s like you went all the times you were supposed to, Gd is happy you fulfilled what’s good for us. Let me know if you have any other questions. Many blessings to you!
I've had similar experiences in my life, without the scripture or the dogma. Water can truly be a rebirth. Water is the unconscious. Why need to immerse fully in it in order to come to ourselves sometimes.
Shalom, The first of the 10 commandments is believe in the One and Only Gd and have no other gds. this is for Jews and non Jews. so splitting Gd into 3 we cannot do and we can not idol worship a person, a human, just the One and one Gd. Gd is not a man. Also a Messiah is a Jewish concept for the world and it’s a human being. A human like us, that we do not turn at all into a Gd. For non Jews there are the 7 Noachide laws/mitzvahs that the world should follow to make this world a better place. Just believing in idol worship and telling me to, is not the way to serve Gd. Many blessings to you
Shalom ! Great question. More in-depth answer below, but if a Jewish women is in menopause age, she can go one more time for purification. My mother never went her whole life, I took her once when she was older, and now she is good and it’s like she went her whole life, spiritually and halachic speaking. www.chabad.org/theJewishWoman/article_cdo/aid/653734/jewish/Does-a-post-menopausal-woman-go-to-mikvah.htm
Fascinating! I'm not religious but I always feel a peace in water, especially the sea. So during the time how aren't intimate, can you talk about sex? I'm guessing self-satisfaction is forbidden? What happens if you have spotting mid-cycle? What about if you have long periods but short cycles, so you're past your fertile window by the time you can have sex again? What happens during perimenopause when a woman's cycles become less regular? What about in full menopause, does she still have to seperate? Do older post-menopause couples share a bed all the time? What happens if the mikvah night falls on shabbat, can you still go, or is it closed? I hope it's okay to ask so much! Thank you
Best questions ever thank you!! I learned most of these answers but it’d take me forever to write. Here’s a place where they have interesting questions and answers on the Mikvah so check it out if you’d like Crystal www.yoatzot.org/?s=Mikvah&all=1&type=q
Yes at night I think when 3 stars are out. Well you have to bath that could take 30 mins or more, then going to mikveh (also can bath at mikveh or home) then I dunk in mikveh and go home. Could take 1 hour or a little more. I’m pretty fast doing things, can take 1-2 hours in total
You know there’s no such thing as religion? There was only after everyone made lots of ‘religions’ up. The only person that calls the Jewish people a religion in the Torah/bible is Haman, the man who wanted to kill all the Jews. What was supposed to be in the world, people would follow Gds morals, spiritual traditions and connect our daily lives to meaning, connective and peace. As you can see, we have all strayed, we all have different ‘religions’ and most of the world hates the Jews and each other. We sit in computers/phones all day and say how horrible we all are and how much we disagree. What a mess, but things will get better, this I know.
Due to surgery many years ago, I'm not required to mikveh ---- but I did have to, when I converted. It was the most traumatic experience, and I just cried and cried while watching your video to realise how much of a special experience I missed out on.
