- I wanted to take you along as I completely redid my Gaming Room! It all started with a few ideas and I am still kindve shocked with how well it turned out! Like I said in the video, I will always be changing things in my setup to make it all work and look better, this setup isn't perfect, but I hope it helps you and inspires your own ideas for your setups.

I’d like to know the color code and brand of the paint! Looks really clean.
I got it at Lowe's. It is Sherwin Williams Peppercorn HGSW1491. Just be warned that if you do not have a lot of lighting in your room it will make it really dark! With my LED soft box lights it looks good in there, but with just the light from the ceiling fan it is too dark!

What I like about this situation is that it’s modular, you can start cheap and upgrade to drawers or adjustable legs.

just ordered all; the parts to make this desk. Its exactly what i've been trying to find so thanks! Only thing i did different was ordered shorted butcher block counter tops from home depot that I will stain. The 74" versions here were going to be too large for my spot, HD offered them in multiple sizes for comparable prices.

This seems to be the exact desk setup for 95% of UA-camrs, those drawers are all over my feed.
The explanations are really helpful for the decisions you made for the monitor mounts and the reason for 4 legs on one table side. It makes sense and helps us make thoughtful choices in our own builds. Thanks.

I have 2 spare rooms in my house, but one has to be a guest bedroom, so I'm going to turn the other into my workspace with kind of desk setup. Probably going to go for a horse-shoe shape around the room though.
Plus side.. convinced the gf it's a good idea, so that's the hard part done. Now just to wait for lockdown to end lmao.

I am going to renovate my room and this helped a lot! I will probably use the karlby counter top and the wall panels. I really appreciate the fact that you show the items you use and you also give a cheaper alternative for people that try to stay on a budget. Keep it up! Close to 10K

Awesome setup man. Thanks for the inspiration. Thinking about getting the same Karlby with 1 Alex drawer on the left side, and 1 leg on the right (Never going to use that much space with 2 Alex drawers). The wall on the right side will have the same foam packs.

You should put a guitar above the panels and shelf’s above your monitors then posters on the wall next to the couch
In my experience the adhesive velcro tabs work really well and dont pull paint or do anything like that. and if you want to rearage the patern they are just velcro on one side so you can move them around freely..

I would say to get a office chair, not to a expensive herman miller, but maybe a autonomous ergo chair. A office chair is a bit more mature and will match your setup better, and definitely more comfortable

Love this build. It looks clean and professional. I just want to know how you secured the desk top to the desk risers(if you secured them at all). I would assume weight would be enough, but I'd want to somehow connect the top of the desk to the bottom of those risers.

I was thinking the same. Would be a shame to accidentally knock it. Could put some sort of adhesive on top of each one maybe?
You can actually buy the linnmon table tops and vinyl wrap it in the end for the wood look.
What sort of vinyl wrap do you recommend to get the sort of wood look that the Karlby in this video looks like?

What is your work, some stuff will be fine on a laptop, other stuff like coding won't really work smoothly on a laptop
you can upgrade things from a laptop just like a pc. You can get an external monitor for it and even find a way to make it run faster when its in desktop mode

This is a nice modern version of the old door (solid or hollow core) on top of 2 small filing cabinets.
Are the alex drawers black-brown or gray? I really love that color and i’m thinking about getting it
They are grey, and Ikea calls them grey. There are some new black ones that they call “black-brown” and they have a wood grain to them, not just smooth like the ones I have.

Dang, that is an amazing desk setup. Just a tip for anyone, if you add a bit of dish soap to your drill bit before drilling through the metal, your bit will last longer! Thanks for the video. How is it holding up today?

They discontinued that exact color. So if you go on Ikeas website and look up Alex drawers, you will find what colors they currently sell.

I have the same 4 inch standoffs but I mounted them to the bottom of the tabletop instead of screwing them to the cabinet.

That looks great. I was looking for computer desks (all in one) for a while, but they had all their pros/cons, and I wasn't sure... This looks very clean and sturdy. Thanks for the inspiration.
If you don't have the correct drill bit, you can cut the screw driver handle off. Then use the bit in the drill chuck. Works good as the screw driver shafts are usually longer than the the small bit for drivers and drills.
