    I had a similar idea, but the countertops seemed heavier than regular tabletops. I wasn't sure if it would be stable, but it looks perfectly fine in the video. Thank you for sharing! :)

    DId you drill the dowel holes yourself, or do they come like that?

    • @DIYFotoWorks

      I drilled them myself using a dowel jig to keep it perfectly aligned. 3/8 inch dowel pins

    how many legs and where would you say to put to support the 98" with the two filer drawers on sides?

    • @DIYFotoWorks
      @DIYFotoWorks  2 місяці тому

      If it’s only one straight section of 98 inch countertop then I would just use two legs probably about 1/3 2/3 split because without them you might get a little bit of sag in the middle. Hope that helps. Thanks so much for watching.

  • @douglasdecarolis6242
    @douglasdecarolis6242 2 місяці тому

    Can you get by without the leg in the middle right where you sit? I like to move from 1 part of L to the other, but I think my leg would bang into the desk leg. Could you position over both components of top L for support but set back out of way of legs?

    • @DIYFotoWorks
      @DIYFotoWorks  2 місяці тому +1

      You probably could, but might have some sag. The rear leg should definitely be placed on the joint between the 2 countertop sections. Or use L brackets attached to the wall. Myself I probably wouldn’t, but if you’re a light user it could be done, I suppose. Hope it helps. 🙂

    Great video man, just one question, if anybody can ask:
    When it came to attaching the legs to the countertop, did you pre-drill those or did you just screw the legs into it? Im worried of splitting the countertop if I screw everything together without drilling first

    • @DIYFotoWorks
      @DIYFotoWorks  4 місяці тому

      Thanks, Definitely a good idea to pre-drill the leg mounting plate holes. Also helps keeping everything nicely aligned and much easier starting your screws. Thanks for Watching!

    • @DIYFotoWorks
      @DIYFotoWorks  3 місяці тому +1

      The top will be perfectly stable, gravity will hold it in place if everything is relatively level. Make sure to adjust each leg leveller, the counters are pretty heavy particle board core. Mine don’t move, a year on. Of course you could use an L bracket to secure your countertops if it concerns you. Hope this helps. 🙂

      You got me curious. I just put my 4 foot Level on mine and it is nearly dead flat. Maybe 1 millimeter of deflection if I’m being generous. Just for reference the space between my 5 drawer unit and the support Leg is about 51 inches. My computer setup is pretty Light. 24 inch Mac. You could use an L bracket on the back wall to help with the sagging. Hope this helps, Good Luck & Thanks for Watching. 🙂

    Whats your desk height, I mean the height from the Alex drawer to the karlby. Mine is 73 cms. I find an ideal height of 68 Cms, so I'm pretty stuck as to how to reduce this height.

    • @DIYFotoWorks
      @DIYFotoWorks  3 місяці тому
