Skip the speakers, they sound terrible. Go to DIY audio, find the SB Acoustics 27 liter closed speaker. Build those. I got them as 5.1 phantom centre, best ever.
I have the Navaris desk shelf and I really like the look. Couldn't go for the Grovemade, but I'm happy with this one. The HumanCentric laptop stand is also inexpensive and looks great!
I see vertical laptop stands everywhere. However, most laptops also use the keyboard to dissipate heat. Isn't it bad for the laptop to overheat in a vertical position? Closed?
I've been doing it for years with my macbooks and I've never had any issue. My wife uses a windows laptop in the same manner. I think most of them have vents underneath the laptop nowadays.

Aren't you using the desk shelf wrong? I feel like the monitor should be on top of the shelf along with the stand. The way you have it just leaves you with even less real estate to work with for no reason! You cant put anything on the shelf and you can put even less things on underneath the shelf

Plywood will always be stronger than solid wood. composite plywood eliminates weak points in the wood that can cause twisting or cracking.

A layered wood shelf is stronger than a solid piece of wood of the same thickness. I trust a 1 inch piece of plywood more than a solid piece.

No because the height for this monitor is sufficient enough without the desk shelf. If I put it on top of the shelf it would be unergonomic for me.
