Guys I apologize for the audio if the music is too loud or my voice too low. This was my first vid and I'm still learning how to edit properly😭 Thanks for watching tho!
It was a great vid man, this was the first time I've seen someone buy the top of the desk and the frame separately, I think it was really smart! stole the words right outta my mouth at 2:28 😂
I love how this video isn't over the top like certain setup videos where they spend 10k on a pc, accessories, and cover the whole thing in RGB. Yours is much more realistic and minimal, great job!
I appreciate that! Glad you liked it. That was the first thing I noticed too when watching other setup videos. Hopefully this vid proves you don't need expensive stuff or crazy accessories to make your own setup!
I agree with you, I used to spend time in front of the computer 10-14 hours a day almost every day for almost 2 months. My back muscles are inflamed because I use a wooden chair and nothing supports my back. The inflammation was so severe that I could not sit down when I have meals. I told myself that I would never do that again and I won't go on a budget on chair because it was a very painful time.
Perfect! A lot of setups on UA-cam are 100% focused on selling with afilliated links, not on functionality or aesthetics. This one is really down to Earth (in a perfect way), functional, beautiful! Looking to do something similar in a near future. Congratulations! 😁
I love how this setup isn't covered in RGB lights. I see a lot of people doing this and I just think; "why? Those just turn your 'clean' setup into an eyesore." Nice, clean, simple. Good creation.
I have an rgb strip running along the wall side of my desk. I have it set on cycling pastel colors and it just adds ambient light that no one would say looks "gamer". Just looks like the desk is glowing.
I've personally moved away from rgb led strips to a monitor lamp like in the video and I don't regret it one bit. It's so much better and the light shines in a useful place, I love it.
8/10 set up. Clean, simple, colour matching, and perfect. If it comes to me, I wouldn't place it behind the window since I have trust issues for whatever reason rain drops might leak. I love everything else tbh.
Great clean setup! My professor told me the best is to have window on your left or right from your setup because if its in front it hits your eyes so they strain to see what is on monitor and if its from back it hits your minitor so they strain again
I beg, nick design, if your reading this, read it till the end, you wont regret it. with that monitor, your capable of a high refresh rate. it makes everything faster and kind of 90% of the price you spent on the monitor, the refresh rate. turn on your pc, locate your desktop (home screen with nothing open) right click and click display, in the settings go advanced display > refresh rate and set it to max, if you already know this or have don't it already, I couldn't resist. hope it helped
The reason that they make the edge banding larger than the width of the board is so that you can cut it down for a more professional finish... at least that's why I think they do it. Also, if you notice there is a slight chamfer on the edge of the board. You will need a router and a small chamfer bit (looks like 1/4") to get the same edging all the way around the board.
I came across your channel from nowhere, but i want to say few things, one im from Saudi arabia and i became one of your family second keep doing and be patient you will be bigger within a year. Third, your setup is great.
This is actually so inspirational because im making a setup right now. Right now i have a All-in-one PC with 4GB RAM and a I3-4K processor. Right now my setup has cost around 150€. It takes time but i hope ill finish it one day!
Dude, i was looking around for upgrade my setup then find Ikea's kitchen working plan was using for desk setup but it was too long for me too... i never thought about cutting it to make it shorter and using the left piece for a shell... You are a genius, thanks for the idea ! 👍
this set up here is the level im on currently. Im in the process of starting my own UA-cam channel in the coming weeks and i i currently live in shared accommodation with five other housemates. My room is a decent size but just enough room to have a foldable desk and chair to alllow myself to create content so im starting off very cheap like under £100 for the desk set up but its a start so seeing this is inspiring me to start off small and get more creative allong the way. Love this and keep on building, you're doing brilliant 👍
I appreciate that! I feel you man, this setup and youtube channel was something ive wanted to do for the past few years, just never had the resources. So I started small, saved up, and finally got the chance to begin. It'll all work out for you just keep working towards it🙏🏼
@@nickdesgn Isnt' the depth of 25" a little to small? At least it was for me, thats why i sold mine again and got a real desk top with 31 inches (80cm)

I found a scrap piece of 1x4 in my garage. I cut that in half and painted them black! I first determined how high I wanted the shelf then went searching around the house before making the trip to home depot. Finding that scrap piece of wood was clutch haha, hope that helps!
I really recommend getting carpet wheels for your chair, I had my office chair w/ the default wheels on a shorter carpet for 4 years and it absolutely obliterated the rug. I regret not getting them, the rug got completely flattened and had tear marks where the chair was
Thanks for the video man! Really like the color choice and how clean the overall setup is, quite the vibe you got going. This will serve as inspiration for my own setup soon when I get the chance to do a makeover.
First video I've seen someone cut the Karlby to the size they preferred. Never thought that was possible or that they give you a strip to cover up the cut. You also some how have a lot of what I have already...mic stand and power surge strip (budget items for sure but great!) - thanks for the video.
*pretty nice, My Room is about the same size as your spare lmao but I managed to get all I needed onto one Desk which worked perfectly for me. Nice Man, Nice*

Bro! For a budget friendly and simple upgrade like this, it beats the over-the-top expensive ones you find on UA-cam! I love it, and you should be really proud of yourself. I'm overdue for a desk makeover, and I really can't wait to start jumping into the process like you've done. I seriously need to get rid of this Macbook Air Intel-bsaed 2019 junk and upgrade to either an M1 or M2 Pro. We'll get to it soon enough. Otherwise, love the content and thanks for sharing the desk remake! Not bad for a first video!
Thank you!! I really appreciate the kind words, I'm glad to hear you've enjoyed the vid! Excited for you to get started on your new setup - all the best!🙏🏼

Never go budget on a chair. Anything else can be as cheap as you want. Your 65 year old self will thank you.
You know what, this is actually facts. Same thing goes with your bed, pillows, etc. The amount of time spent using it is worth the $$$
@@nickdesgn I know that for a fact. My bed is awful, can’t afford to replace it at the moment and it’s causing me no ends of trouble!
