The last few seconds of this episode is one of the most impactful and meaningful moments of the series. The iconic music, the choice of images, and how they are edited to parallel young Eren's rage watching his mom die to what he's about to do now is beyond perfection. Its the most sublime depiction of what "full circle" means storytelling wise.
That ending sequence was so hard to watch. Hurts to see how far things have gone downhill. The evolution of the things our characters fight for throughout this series is incredible.
Well you're probably the first person I hear speaking about "peace of mind" after this episode, while I get your point about closure 😁. So here we are, just the two final FINAL chapters left. They recently made a whole movie of these 2, in the theatres in Japan, I bet it was an incredible experience (it was on the TV, I can't possibly fathom how could it be on the big screen). Hope it comes to my neighborhood sooner or later...
It came to my country over new years. It was awesome. But they slightly lowered the volume of the music and increased the voice volume for some reason. Kinda missing the intensity. Regardless, Imma go see it again.
The last episodes will air as a movie in cinema in Norway on February 21. If you have the patience, then you should wait, and be one of the lucky few to enjoy the last part on the big screen

Eren (4x20) : “Rather than letting someone steal my freedom, I'll steal theirs first.” The shot of Eren getting carried away from his mom getting eaten, to then transition to his founding titan marching on Marley, is phenomenal. To imagine that that little kid now has all this power. 🔥✊ The thing people forgot or just don't want to accept, is that Eren was screaming for help, in finding an alternate solution ever since he kissed Historia's hand. He waited for so long cause its not like he wanted Rumbling to begin with. It's because he waited till a single one proposed a viable solution, he asked Armin if theres other options while they were practice shooting after capturing first Marleyan fleet, He asked and told Hange give me an alternate solution when he was in a cell, we can see how frustrated and helpless he feels knowing the future while finding an alternative solution to stop it, they talked about peace talks as an option, he ended up trusting them and waited till that moment, and he then knew, peace was never an option in the current system. Peace talks was not an option if not everyone is willing to. And considering he sees the future, his question to Mikasa was both a confirmation that what his future self did was happening as what he saw and to have reasons to see if the future can be changed. No one was able to give this young adult a concrete answer, solution, alternative. He knows what he's doing is wrong. “If you win, you live. If you lose, you die. If you don’t fight, you can’t win!” it's that simple

That's the wild thing about AoT, I'm not a big anime guy at all.. But this series is my favorite piece of media, from games to film/series/comics ect I've watched it so many times and I still love it.
At 15:01 I feel you heavily. AOT is truly phenomenal when you’re experiencing it and you can immediately tell it is highly likely it will never be replicated or topped because at the time you watch it you’ve already seen so much and understand the best potentials for Media and it gives you something so unique and high quality with the music, themes, action, characters, plot and story building & the plots twists, character design, Voice acting, depth, OSTs, animation, realistic approach etc. It is easy to tell that from that moment you might never see anything like it ever again in your lifetime. It’s that Amazing. Greatest Show of all time for so many reasons.
This entire series is up there among the greats. It’s LoTR tier possibly better. But it isn’t fully realized because people wouldn’t think an ANIME can do that.
Floch has good character growth and everything. But Floch is always smiling and having fun around the atrocities. That makes him a psychopath in my book. He is having too much fun. Him and Yelena are the two psychopaths. Thats why Floch is a well written psycho.
