So great that the owner takes in all animals. Really fantastic that there are people who don't work for their own benefit but for the benefit of others. Wow, she killed that many bulls?!
why would they not just put her with some elephants so she can have friends? This is so sad. Also how did it take them 15 dead bulls to realize they should keep them apart?

1.) She protects the man in charge of the buffalo from the buffalo themselves, very dangerous animals. He needs to be there as well because poachers have snuck onto ranches like these before. 2.) (I don't know why this documentary said that she'd never seen another elephant; maybe they suspect the game reserve lied about it?) It's not as simple as just dropping Nzou off at an elephant sanctuary, though. The Wildlife Conservation area said they attempted several times to encourage Nzou to become part of their elephant herd, but she would not respond to the other elephants in Imire at all, likely because she no longer understood what they were saying. She is content with the buffalo herd and, as long as they accept her as a leader, she is happy to be their matriarch. Obviously the situation isn't ideal for Nzou or the herd, but I'm not sure there is a better option for her after decades with her buffalo family. there are other elephants in the park now, they have tried to approach her too, but Nzou won't have anything to do with them. After several failed attempts over the years to encourage her to become part of an elephant herd, conservancy managers decided to let her stay with the buffalo. Its her choice, they can't force her to be social with other elephants or make her join a herd, and there are other elephant herds around she is free to join anytime if she wanted to, she has made it clear in previous attempts she doesn't, whether its ideal or not -she sees the buffalo as her herd and family now, and that's it.
@@Cazameilia she can't have her own cub, so sometime she kill the buffalo cub. she can't get any male (elephant) so she kill the male bull. in a nutshell, she have become a sad, lonely, and jealous feminist boss babe
My uneducated opinion as to why the elephant sometimes kills calves is that she knows she herself is the leader and yet she has no progeny, and I think there is something in her that senses in a very vague way that it's wrong for the others of the herd to be able to calf before/and more often than herself, and I believe that how she interprets the "wrongness" of that is the catalyst for her instinct to destroy them on occasion. I think if she were allowed to have a baby it would stop. I think she is just trying to interpret and correct what she cannot help but feel is disorder.
it's a very unique and sad social structure for this buffalo-elephant, it would be great if she could be with her normal herd but to separate them now would be even more cruel, I'd imagine she would die from the loneliness. She has her herd and it appears that all have adapted so that the farmer, the elephant, the buffalo and surrounding community benefit from this sad but kind of necessary situation.
what i expected this to be: wild elephant calf loses her herd somehow and is adopted by a group of surpringly kind buffalo what it is: greedy old man applies capitalism to wild animals and forces a traumatized calf that should be in a sanctuary in with a group of buffalo that don't have any business being near her
Cynical spoilt American judges without understanding. How do you think conservation is funded you smug idiot? A commercial breeding programme and tourism are definitely two. You prefer they allowed hunters? I can’t stand that the world is full of people who love to look for the ugly.
Awe, they need to take her to either an elephant sanctuary or even a baby elephant sanctuary so she can help raise the babies. Poor girl... she needs her own kind. 😢💔
Elephants are very intelligent and she would know that she is not allowed to have babies. She is jealous, thats why she would kill out the young ones. That is unfair to her. Selfish people and cruelty to the elephant. Where are those in authority? The persons who videoed this doc all of them needs to be fined.
Unite the elephant with an another elephant herd . I think the ranch has it to get visitors over ? But killing of prized Bulls .. cost that does not add up .
but,,sadly after watching this..i have concluded that the elephant has lost its right to survive due to its killing of so many baby calf's....if this stupid guy who is the cause of all this can not find a place for the elephant then he must kill it.....as this tragedy must end
This elephant has her duties as a protector and leader , but it's sad how she doesn't know her own kind and kill young Buffaloes . She should have been able to have her own babies from start that way things wouldn't seem so serious. Maybe she would have known what smaller slower animals are like. Maybe she really doesn't know how to show affection to smaller young cause she's never had her own experience. Although I could be wrong because mother's do sometimes kill their young due to accidents or problems.
Alex Bimmy, You could be right.....But on the other hand, what could cause her to be unhappy tho?? Because she's never had a calf so she can't be unhappy of loosing one, and the guy who she is protecting shows her love, and what do the bulls do for her to kill them too?? cause they well never be half of her size nor weigh as much as she. So what could cause this elephant to be unhappy?? It couldn't be that she lost her mother at a young calf..... cause if that's so, then are elephants that good??
I feel bad for the elephant she really needs to be with at least one other of her kind for emotional support. elephants are feeling creatures shes not getting what she needs from the buffalo.
This game park is in my back yard I hope more will be done to protect it upstream. I have noted some changes especially on the rural side and more involvement and education with the locals is needed in terms of water and tree planting and retention in order to protect the water sources. Hopefully relations are built that are beneficial to the locals so they see the value of this park. Its a beautiful place I must admit.
It's so clear how much more emotional elephants are... So sweet how she was running around looking for them, and how happy she was she found them...
Also how happy see was when she was trying to kill the calf

😆❤️lmao i can't stop lmao she's so funny! I'm not even 8minutes in yet lmao she cracks me up! This girl is hilarious lmao😆❤️👊 I love her!!!smh😆lol
*She'd blend best with her own kind, a herd of elephants. They'd likely stop all that aggression she displays towards any buffalo but the female. A herd of elephants would never tolerate that behavior unless she was their matriarch and that's not likely. I hope one day she does get to go be with her own kind, it hurts my heart that she's not with em now. The idea that she may not know she's an elephant would go out the window immediately if she ever we're to meet just one other elephant. Aww what i wouldn't give to witness that❤️😲
As sweet and caring as this man is to her and as tolerant as the buffalo are, she needs elephants💔😞 she needs a herd I think.

They need to let the other elephants socialize with her.
Magnificent video
There is absolutely no reason that Nzou must stay with the buffalo, it's cruel.
there are other elephants in the park now, they have tried to approach her too, but Nzou won't have anything to do with them.
She is happy where she was , if she was not feel right , she would walk out long time ago , as long as she feel happy and comfortable ❤
@@Cazameilia Thanks for the info.
@@Cazameilia why isn't this shown?
Sorry, but it's still a bit suspicious
@@Cazameilia she can't have her own cub, so sometime she kill the buffalo cub. she can't get any male (elephant) so she kill the male bull.
in a nutshell, she have become a sad, lonely, and jealous feminist boss babe
i love it ... 🤩
That is amazing how animals will except anyone as family. We People of the world could take lessons
nice love ❤elephant and buffalo
I am in love with the elephants. My dream before I die, is to be able to meet one!
Me too ♡♡♡♡
Lol sounds like you're talking about death by elephant
Here in india elephants are domesticated each temple in kerela have more than 10 to 100 in their wings
What an amazing story
Maravilha qlindo muito legal
Is there an update on her please?
it's a very unique and sad social structure for this buffalo-elephant, it would be great if she could be with her normal herd but to separate them now would be even more cruel, I'd imagine she would die from the loneliness. She has her herd and it appears that all have adapted so that the farmer, the elephant, the buffalo and surrounding community benefit from this sad but kind of necessary situation.
Why are you guys complaining. The caretakers are taking really good care of the elephant and the buffaloes.
Very interesting !!
Nice 🎉🎉
Elephant: I'm their undisputed leader. See how they follow me?
Buffalo: Shade!
what i expected this to be: wild elephant calf loses her herd somehow and is adopted by a group of surpringly kind buffalo
what it is: greedy old man applies capitalism to wild animals and forces a traumatized calf that should be in a sanctuary in with a group of buffalo that don't have any business being near her
Cynical spoilt American judges without understanding. How do you think conservation is funded you smug idiot? A commercial breeding programme and tourism are definitely two. You prefer they allowed hunters? I can’t stand that the world is full of people who love to look for the ugly.
Amazing!
Wonderful
Unite the elephant with an another elephant herd . I think the ranch has it to get visitors over ? But killing of prized Bulls .. cost that does not add up .
❤❤❤น่ารักมากมิตรภาพต่างสายพันธุ์
this is very sadfor the ellle
This is an example of true love .
amazing behavior
but,,sadly after watching this..i have concluded that the elephant has lost its right to survive due to its killing of so many baby calf's....if this stupid guy who is the cause of all this can not find a place for the elephant then he must kill it.....as this tragedy must end
You're obviously anthropomorphizing.
I feel bad for the elephant she really needs to be with at least one other of her kind for emotional support. elephants are feeling creatures shes not getting what she needs from the buffalo.

Nzou is also a Kamba name for elephant. Kamba is a tribe in the eastern part of Kenya.
Its a beautiful place I must admit.
at first i thought it was cute until they said she killed 15 Bulls and 4 calves
Elephants are one of God's greatest creations.
My god, I'm going to love this.
