The wall looks Amazing... and I think a thin gold frame would be perfect on your painting it will match the bottom of your table and your light fixture and just bring everything together! 👏👏👏
I just love your content, how it's flows so naturally. I love how your husband comes in and helps then quietly slips away☺. You make the average person feel like they can do these things and not have to stress about breaking the budget. Thank you sincerely. ps: I'm thinking about creating, you, your husband, and your apartment in the Sims 4🤗 you guys are so adorable.
Thank you for talking about your social anxiety because it’s always nice to feel like you’re not alone!! I always feel the same way where a negative social interaction will make me more anxious to go out afterwards. I just discovered your channel today and will be binging your videos today!
Hi, I never comment but I work at Lowe's and just like Home Depot they are actually supposed to charge you for the cuts. All depends who helps you they may be nice & not charge you. Just didn't want you to think you had a bad experience & be put off. He was actually doing what he was supposed to do probably because he was new & just wanted to follow the rules ❤
Heya Shayla! Thanks for sharing that and you're totally right - I've actually seen the sign saying they charge above 2 cuts.. sometimes it's hard on UA-cam because I don't convey a story properly or the way I would in person 🥺. I think what really bothered me was the way the guy spoke to me (he seemed annoyed to be helping me) and it just happened to be that the words he was saying was that he would charge me. Hope that makes sense! I didn't want to elaborate too much on the specific story but just wanted to highlight that sometimes a bad in person experience can have lasting impact 😞
"This is the diy that creates more diy's that creates more diy's." ❤ The very nature of DIY! Congrats! Looks great! I also love the music played in your videos, so calm and loving. Sweet! 🤗 Also your husband is awesome! No issues admitting you were right all along. You both make a lovely couple.
Thank you for showing that these diysare not easy and as effortless as a lot of videos make it seem. The math alone turns me off but the end looks So worth it. Absolutely beautiful. Well done team x
This was so special in many ways. You're right as always. You saw IT. You did IT. I heard a lot of confidence. Saw big smiles, beautiful singing. The move & the vacation helped your being. The last was you! You did it ALL. By yourself! And... you were right about the paneling. 🤗 Gorgeous.
I’m curious if you flip the painting horizontal if it’ll help! I think a frame would add some warmth and a good transition between the cream color of the wall and the clean colors of the painting! Also so cool to see a renter friendly board and batten!!
You have the brilliant mind of an artist so it is very ok to be the only one who sees it initially..... Knowing him, he will still help and love it too. Go beautiful rock star
I love that you're in Canada! I'm moving soon and am so inspired by what you've accomplished in your apartments with your DYI projects and motivated more because I can source everything within our own country! Thank you!!
I hear you on the negative experiences being detrimental to progress when it comes to interacting with people. Sometimes it just too darned 'peopley' out there!
Great job. I didn't really understand the bad experience part of it tho. If you always get it cut free but this time he charged, how did that make it a bad experience. Was he rude? Maybe I missed something you may have said. Idk. Chin up tho. Just be grateful for your blessings. Gratitude goes a long way. You have great talent to do what you do. Keep pushing and focus on the positives! Love the singing in between, lol so cute.
@@Eloiselove For me, it would be getting myself ready to go out, thinking I know how this interaction will go and having it not go that way. It'd throw me off and even put me off going again any time soon. Anxiety is a thing, and it can be truly debilitating. Hats off to her for even sharing how she was feeling. Made me feel a bit more 'normal' 😋
Dalia, I'm so glad I found your channel. I was hooked when I saw the unmakeover, so thank you for tha because I've now started some renter-friendly changes in my own apartment. I like having your videos playing in the background when I'm doing DIY projects. I really like the songs you play - and I finally found the artist of my favorite song. Keep it coming, Dalia. Don't put too much pressure on yourself...you are doing a very special thing!! Stay authentic.
I AGREE! I felt all along that wall was just missing something too! I see how it does provide an illusion of wider space for the eye! I really want to do my walls someday just the way you did yours!
Love love love this. It looks so much better! Thanks for showing us how easy something like this can be. I plan on doing a version of this, renter friendly even when I don’t rent, just because I change my mind about decor a lot.
Love your videos 💜 you were spot on with that space feeling very centered and definitely achieved the effect of redirected the eyes around the space with this DIY. Im wondering if a wood of wood filler over the connections between each board and a bit of touch up paint after would help hide the joints and still keep it renter friendly?!? Also what weight/strength command strips do you use?
Love your content, Dalia ! I just moved into my first appartment with my boyfriend and you're motivating me a lot to decorate my space ! As a fellow Canadian, I was wondering if you could share with us how much it cost to make this paneling wall ? Wondering if it's in my budget ☺️
You’re so funny Dalia, it looks great, even the color looks nice warm and elegant. Yes I agree your painting is nice but framing will take it to the next level. Love your work.
In Chicago, HD always tell me that they charge after 2 cuts. I believe this may be their policy but some of them just do it for free long as their not busy. Loving the process, can't wait to see what you do next!
I did not skip one bit it was that good Dahlia I enjoyed every moment. I love the outcome. I also appreciate your husband helping you even though he didn’t thought it was needed. Continue to be you and only you because that is what I love about your channel. Say hello and thank you to your husband for us your supporters 😊🤗😊
You inspired me to do something similar for my husbands office (in a rental) in your last apt! Thank you so much for making the renter friendly videos; they are truly one of a kind and much needed on UA-cam. I also suffer from SA so I totally understand how a bad social experience makes you hesitant to leave again🥺 It helps me- when I’m alone- to put my headphones on in public to drown out everyone else💕
Every time you show the dining room space I’m like this is the video where she’ll add a rug, but it never is 😑 lol love the board and batten in that cream color!
I have only done one wood project (and it was 8 years ago) because the time i did it, i felt like an inconvenience to the guy cutting my wood. Anytime i just needed a piece of wood for something, they still dont seem helpful and i hate feeling like im bothering someone even though its their job. Love this project.. I want to buy myself a circular saw and table so i dont have to worry about asking because i have so many projects i want to do!
Awe girl I can totally relate to your experience and I'm so sorry that happened to you on your first wood project! The way you described it was actually exactly how I felt (like I'm bothering them and it's an inconvenience) and in general that is such an uncomfortable feeling. I hope you do get a saw and a table so you can do all the projects you've been dreaming of! 🥺❤️
Wow! I'm totally loving your vlogs! In one of your other vlogs, you had the dismantling of the wall and I really want to do this on one of my bedroom walls because the man who did the remodel had very poor workmanship and there is a lot to hide. My space is small so I'm going to add mirrors inside the squares and bling the whole thing out by painting them silver to match the rest of the trim in my room. I applaud you totally love your style and vision ❤️ The final result is fantastic and I totally agree with you
That is a great look the DIY hack made it easy to do I love the new look and I don't think you need to put the board around the picture unless you want to put natural look on it. 🥰🥰
When she cut the wainscoting I was Noooooo … why not just put the nail on the wainscoting trim and hang it there? It looks beautiful and I so want to try this in my new apartment! Thanks Dalia! Btw I love the way y’all sweep your floors 😉 💕
Hi Dalia, thanks for sharing your creativity. Your table and wall are both absolutely beautiful. You stated that you're not sure if you should frame your artwork, it would probably accent your table even more if you did frame it and paint the frame the same gold (all gold) you used on your table legs....Keep up the great work 🙂
It looks very nice!! I was thinking at the start of the video that maybe just a brown frame around the painting would have done the trick. And you said that in the end, I think you should go for it! Really liked your idea of using command strips to hold the wood strips, I may try this one as I think my dinning wall looks unfinished too 😀
That was worth it!! 😍 And I get the social anxiety, I think, or I should say I overthink everything and that gives me anxiety sometimes lasting for days! I used to wear headphones while doing things alone, it helped me escape, think and do things smoothly… and now I really don’t think that’s even safe anymore. What are we even to do… just put positive energy out there, and feel the vibes of where you are, if it feels off, leave… i do (lol) ❤️
I wonder what your husband thinks of all the snow you seem to get there versus the little we get in Toronto 😀 I was totally on the fence at first but you were right. Makes such a difference with the additional dimension!
I'd love to see you make a frame for the painting, it would really tie everything together! Though it already looks amazing as is. If you do make a frame, I'd love to see you use that charred wood stain again!
I love how calm you are when you come across a problem. I really enjoy your videos and how you explain every detail❤️. Kudos to your husband who is so patient and doesn’t complain when you need his help… he’s a keeper😁--with love, Texas
This is exactly what I need! Is this an 8x8 wall? Can you add to the description or reply to this comment with what your measurements were and how many boards you had to purchase...Thx!
I absolutely love watching your videos and the wonderful things you create!! Beautiful work... as always! Thank you for sharing! ♡ As far as framing... I think it would work.. especially if you pick up some of the gold in the frame to pull from your light fixture and table bottoms.
I just rewatched this and I want to add it to my wall. Would you mind sharing roughly how much it cost? I’m renting and I look for lower end projects to help elevate my space. You are so creative and I love your videos!
i think it looks great! if you were going to fiddle with it more i think i'd make it so there wasn't any paneling behind the painting so that it looked like the painting was built into the wall like you alredy cut the one on top to end just before the painting starts and i think that would look really nice continued around the painting

Thank you that means so much to me! 🥺❤️
I agree 😁
My husband always tells me no before I decorate something...then I do it anyways and he loves it. Every. Single. Time.
Same like mine
Hahah oh gosh!! I love your confidence!! You'd think they'd learn to not question us 🤣❤️

Same. And when I buy a big item says we don’t need it then uses it more than me lol 😂

It's looking lovely. Maybe you should try putting a rug under the dining table. A round cream-colored carpet would be the best bet.

Omg beautiful 🤩

Definitely the first UA-camr I've seen seamlessly incorporate their husband. Everyone else makes it very awkward for the viewer EXCEPT here
