- Taytona Arcade Racing is an unofficial remake of Daytona USA by AES Software. Originally created as an Android mobile game in 2015, development shifted to PC after being removed from the Google Play store. The game currently features two of the three tracks from the original Daytona, arcade and time attack modes, and online multiplayer.

I have to wonder how this was developed. Looks like one of the better Daytona USA clones I've seen.
I'll tell you I love dropping 25 cents into a twin Daytona and getting lap records on the advanced course, shifting gears like a boss. :)
I remember shifting gears on Daytona. Had to use that method of slamming it into the lower gears to make it drift. Normally a first then into third.
25 cents?!? It used to cost us Brits £1 a credit. Four times as much as you! 🤯

well... it’s crazy in its own way.
It's fun, just sensitive at times unless you tweak the controls. Almost like a true mobile port.
The game is on the Play Store, and has daytime changes in it.

Wow, this is pretty impressive in it's own right honestly.
The worst part is that they left out the obligatory G-A-M-E-O-V-E-R screen. Daytona USA ain't the same without it.
It's a work in progress. There are so many more important things to address right now.
In that case, I shall keep my eyes on the project. Thanks for introducing us to this.

There was actually an earlier remake of Daytona USA clone that was announced by a British gaming magazine RETROGAMER that came out on pc via mid 2000's. I forgot the name of it but it is very very close to this....Still this is great!!
I've seen more than a few people mention Screamer and Screamer 2 on PC, but they both came out a decade earlier. Let me know if you figure it out. I'm always interested in Sega clones and tributes.
Yes I remember now!! "Victory Road!!" , it came out in 2012!! There are some YT vids of it floating around although tracking the game down might be harder to do now but it's not impossible. The game I think was a complete mod and I highly doubt it's ever been updated since!!
Looks like an updated version was released in 2014 called Victory Racing SE. Archive.org doesn't seem to have the game file saved. Third-party sites do have executables, but I'm pretty sure they're viruses. It's interesting though, so I'll keep digging.
Thanks, I did eventually manage to find a clean link on the archive. After some tweaking with dgVoodoo2, I got the game running just fine and shot a video. It's up on the channel now. :)

I found the download online. I think I'll give it a try.
I would say so. It started life on mobile back in 2015 before being kicked off the Google Play store late last year. The developer then ported the game into the Unity engine and is continuing development on PC.
If you want to try it out, there's a download link in the video description. Just be aware that it still plays very much like a mobile game, so the controls aren't exactly great. Still it's a neat project, and it even has online multiplayer!
