@Jdor D what happends when u crash at 40mph? You you're pretty fucked not so much in the car. If i had the money i'd always put waaay more money into a car than a bike no matter what.
MrZyLeXx 40mph? That’s nothing for a crash on a bike if you’re in full gear. You would have to be seriously unlucky to die or suffer any life changing injuries at that speed. The only way that would happen is if you hit a tree head on or something Let’s face it, the car and the bike can both do 180+mph, the outcome of crashing at those speeds in either vehicle is likely to be the same
MrZyLeXx it’s a preference thing obviously but riding is way more fun and adrenaline filled than driving a fast car...on a bike you feel way more connected to the road and are aware what’s happening around you and of course you get supercar performance for a fraction of the money with a supersport motorcycle....and yeah, of course it’s more dangerous but every rider is aware of that and willing to take the risk
Do keep in mind the Aerial Atom V8 is the one that had those crazy times 0-60 at 2.3 secs and it had significantly more power than the current regular Atom 4 but still is amazing I and would love to own one

replace "best" with fastest. It is highly subjective what attributes a supercar must have to be the best. For me it is also reliability and driving experience.
@@HellsSalesman You sound so silly! Mr Hakz clearly said "in my opinion." Who are you to ask him to change his opinion or point of view, on this matter? Furthermore, Chris Harris of Top Gear, has driven several supercars (the McLaren 720s and 911GTRS, including) over the course his career. And he also said the same thing. Even though Chris Harris acknowledged McLaren's reliability issues, he still said the 720s is "the best car you can buy. It is just genius." In fact Chris Harris even added that "the 720s is the car that I keep coming back to. I think it's the most compete supercar, and possibly best ever created." By the way, have you ever driven a 720s? Matt Farah recently did again. And he said "people have criticized McLaren supercars for not being very emotional, not being very involving. That is NOT true at all." And even Tim (Shmee150) was very impressed with the 720s after he had driven it on a track. He didn't feel that way about the car when he first tested it on public roads.
HellsSalesman the best for me.... If I was a millionaire and looking at anything past d hypercars, it'll be the 720s. You're entitled your opinion of course 🙂
Nothing wrong here. Stretch it and it'll do it quicker the problem with most modern liter bikes now days is short wheel base and too much power which make the first gear useless because you'll literally flip it over if you go full throttle and anti wheelie control system and troction control limits the power way too much in frrst gear. Stretched superbikes will do 2.3s-2.5s. 0-60. Also i don't know about the car but it's possible to do 9.8s 1/4 mile on stock s1000rr, It's just requires specific skillset to launch superbikes which you learn by drag racing a lot and not at the track which most people ride these bikes there.
I was behind a 720s spider a few weeks back and he gave it full throttle from like 30-120+. I’ve never seen a passenger vehicle ever move that quick on the road, it was unbelievable.
Spongebob Schwanzkopf he never acted butt hurt or said anything stupid? Why come at him sideways? Yes, the McLaren is fast, we all know that. But as tested by professionals, that bike is significantly faster than the rider in the video was able to do. I’m sure the 720S could also benefit from a professional driver, but that’s not the point this comment and many others are trying to make. Simply put, the rider in the video hindered the true performance of the S1000RR.
@Spongebob Schwanzkopf 1998 VFR Honda 750 3.1 sec to 100kph... not butthurt, just not surprised that car drivers have to cheat against a bike to win...
definitly not. A liter bike like the BMW with this amount of power and without electronic would be a lot slower. For Ex.: The rider would spend the entire time fighting against the rising front wheel. And does not do that more efficiently than the wheelie control
@MGTOW DIRT BIKER What's wrong with you, that you attack me personally? When the electronics are properly tuned and the driver uses them correctly, it is impossible to be faster. That's fact. You (and everyone doing these drag races) should totally do flying starts also.. ..I think it's even more important than going from stand still when you think about it.
Sorry but Launch Control on a Motorcycle is for beginners. I have seen VBox data of the old S1000rr going 0-100kph in 2.2 seconds with a bit of wheelspin. Also the shift to 2nd gear seems way early. That 720 though, what a machine!

Anyone that's been near a 720s will know that they are no joke, genuinely superbike quick, as to the slower than possible 0-60 time on the RR, it all comes down to the rider's ability, had he not used launch control and had the skill and experience to get a good launch, I've no doubt the bike would have been far faster. Alas, people assume launch control is king and its absolutely not, after all, it's called launch control, not launch faster.
The McLaren 720S makes no sense to me. There are plethora of drag races of the 720S vs highly tuned cars that have higher horsepower/weight ratios and in cases have AWD. The verdict for the last 6 months has been the same: the 720S decimates almost everything. I know the 720S has already been put on the dyno and is producing close to or exceeding 700whp. So, the engine is producing well over 830hp. But for a RWD car to beat AWD with much more horsepower... well... I can only come to one conclusion: magic... the block is made from unicorn horns and forged in hell by Superman.
Exactly why these comparisons are pointless. 99% will never own that car. Yes it’s a feat of engineering, but the fact that you can get almost the same performance for less than 20k is mental
The bike can go in 10sec the quarter mile. Depends on the rider and if he nails the start. Because 3.3 sec to 60mph is kinda high. You can get it less then 3 sec. But then again, another british magazine with a british car in it. Don't know...
the fastest stock 720s numbers 1/4 mile: 9.68sec@145mph(9.79sec@142mph has also been run in far worse conditions the car averages 9.9) 1/2 mile: 174mph they average 170-172mph Race wins: 40 wins think 5 losses on Dragtimes channel and no stock vehicle beat the 720S
The 720S must make significantly more HP than what McLaren claims.... OI own an S1000RR - to see that the McLaren is just a fast, if not faster is astonishing. An unbelievable car.
I don't want to show off here but my almost stock yoshimura cbr1krr 2009 is doing 10:30 and you want to tell me than new BMW is slower?dude where did you find that rider?
If you had both of these in your garage. You would still take the bike rather than the car on a Sunday morning blast. You can also ride around with all your mates I would use the car to take the girlfriend to dinner or to do my shopping
Should do another of these tests with the Ultima GTR EVO 0-60mph=2.3secs 0-100mph=4.9secs 0-150mph=8.9secs 1/4mile=9.2secs @156mph 240mph+ top speed Would monster them all.
The 720S is the fastest way to go around the drag strip with the wind in your hair IF you can cough up 300K$. I'm spending my money on the bike which is only coincidentally 1/10th slower and costs 1/10th of the Mclaren.
Now put them round a circuit and watch the Mclaren lap so much faster than the bike you will know why it costs $250k. It'll be miles quicker. It's not a one trick pony of just pure acceleration. It corners like a monster.
For those saying the bmw is a 9 second bike, ya maybe on a prepped surface. The McLaren is a mid to low 9 second car as well, and my mother could launch it properly. It would be the same result.
Supercars are now beating superbikes in drag races also . Man that is mind blowing really. Just can't beat the grip 4 wheels gives to the car . Still i would like to see the h2 or a panigale v4.
@john m A girl? Suitcases? LOL I guess. I like my car, but I definitely have more fun on the bikes. Bikes do have drawbacks, but there is no comparison when you're turning and burning.
It really doesnt matter if the car or the bike is a few milliseconds slower or faster then the other (depending on the rider). They both have about the same acceleration and the point has been proven that almost no stock car (beside hypercar) could even dream about keeping up with a hypersport bike. Now this day has arrived. @@marvistv6551 Having too much grip isn't necessarily a good thing on a bike with a short wheelbase and massive amount of power. bikes can only get off the line so fast due to wheelie problem, anti wheelie controls just slows things down, its a safety feature, more than a anything else, longer wheelie bases are needed. first 3 gears on modern litre bikes are difficult on getting power to the ground. longer wheelie bases gets around this but messes up cornering.

The only difference is, you MUST have balls if you are a serious about riding a BMW 1000RR. If you make mistake in a corner with a car the electronics will help you out. If you do the same mistake on a bike, you probably end up in a bodybag. A biker has always better reaction time than any car driver as we all get use to the high speed due to our bike`s performance. Well that's embarrassing for motorcycles. The one thing that they usually dominate is the 1/4mile. I hope suzuki will bring out a new hayabusa soon that can do a sub 10.
Considering how much time a manual gearbox wastes (adding anywhere from 0.2 to 0.5 seconds to a 0-60 time), I'd love to know how fast the Atom would be if it had a dual-clutch or sequential gearbox.
Did you try the bike without launch control ? also what was the stats needed for the test other than head in the wind, two expensive cars so you should go expensive on the bike, like the Dodge Tomahawk, or the Ducati V4 RS, or was this a sponsored run from BMW
Here's how the bike's performance (in this test) can be improve by keeping it still in stock form: 1) Remove the gopro from the top of the rider's helmet and place it on the chin or somewhere else where it will not impact aerodynamics. 2) Remove (or simply fold in) the mirrors. 3) Remove the license plate holder - it is disgustingly ugly and saves weight. 4) Get some practice and STOP using launch control - you can get a much better launch with just clutch launches since the TC will not interact.
Craziest part is that the 2017 Yamaha FZ10 (MT10 Europe) posts a 2.5 second 0-60 and I bought mine new at launch with zero miles for $9,250 out of a dealer in California. That's a neutrally tested STOCK bike that only Makes 160 hp at the crank verses it's twin brother Yamaha R1 (even the M) that that produce over 200hp. It's the gearing and the way it makes torque in that glorious crossplane crank 4 cylinder ,..it's also interesting to note that at well under HALF the price of the BMW it achieves the QUICKEST 0-60mph of ANY production bike in HIsTOrY! Not bad from Yamaha and a cheapened down (supernaked) R1!

Let’s face it, the car and the bike can both do 180+mph, the outcome of crashing at those speeds in either vehicle is likely to be the same
MrZyLeXx it’s a preference thing obviously but riding is way more fun and adrenaline filled than driving a fast car...on a bike you feel way more connected to the road and are aware what’s happening around you and of course you get supercar performance for a fraction of the money with a supersport motorcycle....and yeah, of course it’s more dangerous but every rider is aware of that and willing to take the risk

You sound so silly! That is NOT true at all." Nothing wrong here.

Now let's see how they all cope getting past a caravan on a country road... or a lap of the M25 😉👍🏍💨💨💨
My 2001 GSXR 1000 bone stock with 145 hp runs 10.4 sec in the 1/4 the BMW should be capable of 9.99
Why cant none of these auto channels get a good bike rider who can actually launch the bike... 3.3 sec for a liter bike is too slow...
You realize the Mclaren didnt go as fast as they "can" go also? It also dips into the 9's. I'm a rider, my brother has a 17 S1kRR that I've spent a bunch of time on. They are amazing. The Mclaren is just plain fast.
Hook a VBOX to your bike and show me you doing 3.2 or quicker on the street.
Right
Why can’t all you wanna be Valentino Rossi’s stop trying to act like you could do any better in these non ideal conditions... the bike could’ve gone faster, well guess what, the car could’ve also, and it had its top down ffs
Citrus how is pointing out the obvious flaws with this video being “wannabe VR?”
TCS and launch control is slower on a bike, that’s a fact whether you like it or not
Wow I want that 720s! Spec is perfect!
Well no normal person can ever afford the mclaren, but could easy afford the bike😉
Actually some cant afford the bike either 🤷🏾♂️
That is true, but if u Dont know how to ride it,then u might as well not buy it.
Get it up you well In Denmark that McLaren is like 700.000£ because of tax. The bike is around 27.000£, What is the most realistic to affors😉
1. An H2R is a faster bike they should have used
2. The BMW is 20 grand..the cost of a new economy sedan maybe, the 720 is about 310 grand, big difference for about the same performance
H2R is faster than the 2019 S1000RR?
The 2019 bike is more like 16 grand. They're on autotrader for that price. Pretty much brand new (only 100 or so miles)
Should've done a run without launch control.
Neck and neck for the mclaren and bmw is a sentence that will never be uttered again!
Lets get a video of the 720s against all the top super/hyper bikes!
just watch Dragtimes channel dudes beaten the Dodge Demon A mclaren P1 Gt2RS and so much more i believe he has about 40 wins against different cars in that 720s and it's stock.
@@MBAM95 he swapped nothing lol dude he let demonology search his car and see if anythings changed oyt he runs Toyo R888R street tires their no drag tires their course tires look it up Hahaha also he ran 9.92sec@143mph before switching to toyo R888R's where he ran 9.89,9.87 & 9.79sec and recently he ran 9.85sec on a stock 720s WITH THE STOCK MCLAREN TIRES ON Lol get the excuses out here man also you just stated the issue with motorcycle races these days nobody is running stock anymore...
Talking about drag strip times are ridiculous...do u know how sticky they are..u literally cant walk on them cos it will pull ur shoe off....the 720s is a hell of a car tho.....literally superbike quick..i have a gsxr1000 n to think there are cars out there that are equal speed is madness...but it will still feel 100x better on a crotch rocket
Considering the bike puts down the power on the road through a contact path the size of the palm of your hand, it's seriously impressive, not the mention the price point at which such performance can be enjoyed at! 😊👍
Visakh Asok with a power to weight double that of the car, it’s not impressive. Should murder the car.
Well that's embarrassing for motorcycles. The one thing that they usually dominate is the 1/4mile. I hope suzuki will bring out a new hayabusa soon that can do a sub 10.
kawasaki has a h2... better then a hayabusa and s1000rr
epiphonesg007 is a Henessy Venon.
Considering how much time a manual gearbox wastes (adding anywhere from 0.2 to 0.5 seconds to a 0-60 time), I'd love to know how fast the Atom would be if it had a dual-clutch or sequential gearbox.
I had an 07 R1 and did a 10.3 in stock form. No way that S1000RR is slower than my R1...
Charlie Rosco well it is
A panigale beat the mclaren P1, and this bike is quicker than the Panigale that did that. I find this very hard to believe
Ducati V4S vs 720s plz
RSV4 1100 Factory please
@@Chris-gt1fn yes yes yes love that bike proper v4
Question is? Is it faster than S1000RR
@@migracing8232 yes easily both are! Ducati 234bhp for a start and aprilia 1100 factory has 217bhp but a heap more torque too
@@youtubed9695 lol the ducati v4r which a full akra only pushes 203rwhp Ducati over estimates their hp numbers.
Was the ECU flashed? Because it can go faster
2:09 to skip the bs.
Did you try the bike without launch control ? also what was the stats needed for the test other than head in the wind, two expensive cars so you should go expensive on the bike, like the Dodge Tomahawk, or the Ducati V4 RS, or was this a sponsored run from BMW
Here's how the bike's performance (in this test) can be improve by keeping it still in stock form:
1) Remove the gopro from the top of the rider's helmet and place it on the chin or somewhere else where it will not impact aerodynamics.
2) Remove (or simply fold in) the mirrors.
3) Remove the license plate holder - it is disgustingly ugly and saves weight.
4) Get some practice and STOP using launch control - you can get a much better launch with just clutch launches since the TC will not interact.
True but the 720 is in spider form with the top down. Lots more drag as a result.
Here's how the 720S can be improved.
Put the top up.
Stop sleeping at the start.
Win.
Bike was still just about quicker in terms of trap speeds but that maclaren is quick
Gumpy 49 we know that. He put the figures up 😂
Every comment on this video is stating what people already know having seen the video, so why are you commenting on what I said?
Funny thing is the 720s on average has a top speed of 175-177 in half mile. I don't know what happened here.
A genuine production ‘ten second’ car and a bike that still punches as hard as an aerodynamically honed supercar above 100. What a time to be a petrolhead.
Put a better rider on the bike and turn off launch control and it'll do mid 9's all day.
Not on that surface it won't. Maybe on a dragstrip
yes and the mclaren does 9.8's stock. so the bike is not really any quicker.
Johnmatrix1000 the bike is stock as well lmaooooo, it’s also 20k and the car you’ll never be able to afford sooooo 🤷♂️🤷♂️
Sam Kent I don’t care how cheap the bike is, I don’t like them. I’m not interested in becoming another statistic. I have a EVO 6.5 and it gives me everything I want in a car. Don’t care how fast the bike is. It’s irrelevant to me.
@@ColonelJohnmatrix1000 100% right u r mate😎
I am still no convinced about the looks of the 720s, its lines and its open hole headlights... but my God what a heck they put under the bonnet of that car! The finesse of the engine and the acceleration of that car is fast becoming a Richard Dawkins mountain improbable situation truly difficult to believe🏔
