Great episode. Every time I see the launch of the Nauvoo I get goosebumps, it's done so well, with all the little tugboats drawing away, some getting burned up in the drive, Drummer and Johnson commanding the launch. The music that goes with that sequence is great too. We don't have to scratch our heads too much over allegiances. These characters like Mao are post-national, post-planetary. So many little things like that is what I love about the show...they don't tell you, they show you, it's up to you to pay attention. The more you watch it the more you start to notice little things going on in the "background" - peace -
@@ladyvaderkmc1 The thing I loved about this show so much. They don't treat the audience like they're stupid. They treat their audience like they're smart. Like they'll notice the detail. Like if they don't get something they'll do their own research and catch up. Too many TV shows these days pander to the lowest common denominator.
If I remember correctly, Holden sees himself in the situation of killing those humanitarian guys in the Marasmus just because they wanted to announce to the whole Solar System something they don't understand it needs to be kept a secret. It's exactly the kind of thing he did at the beginning of the story, and kept wanting to do for a while. So this situation shows that he now undestands the problems of being such a big mouth, what is really a great arc for his character. It's great to see him so conflicted. So, somehow in that scene he had to kill his prior self, his righteousness... even if he still will always try to do the right thing, but knowing it's not so easy to know what's right and what isn't in such a complicated situation.
Don Quixote the knight has been knocked off his horse. I also remember what Noami said a while back.."Being in command sucks the big felota..you can have it."

Miller was ready to die. His life ran its course in his mind - he felt that he played his hand the best that he could. Why not go out trying to do a righteous deed. He's worn out, and probably pissed he's got more work to do now. lol.
The "heroes" are progressing through their personal journeys. Miller learned to give a damn. Holden has learned discretion and the murky grey of making decisions. Even Chrisjen and Fred looking beyond things that only help their own nations at the expense of others.
@@michaelgonzalez6295One of the things I find most superior about The Expanse is that it seems like EVERY character is on a journey of their own. Heroes, Villains, and even the average Joe. There are so many characters from many works of media where most non-protagonist characters don't seem to change, evolve, or explore a path.
"This will kill him!" and 19:22 "Do It!" BTW, you are so bloodthirsty Nikki LOL. Even Holden cannot be a perfect shining knight. Let's hope his soul survives this.
An even more amazing implication of Eros moving out of the Nauvoo's path is...miller didn't feel the shift. He should have become paste on the walkway with that maneuver. Remember how the crew has to juice up and be physically restrained when doing a high-G maneuver. Love how you're doing!
This chapter in the book is so good: There, in the center of the fiery bloom, Miller saw a dark spot, no more than the dot of a pencil's tip. The ship itself. He took a deep breath. When he closed his eyes, the light pressed red through his lids. When he opened them again, the Nauvoo had length. Shape. It was a needle, an arrow, a missile. A fist rising from the depths. For the first time in memory, Miller felt awe. Eros shouted. "DON'T YOU FUCKING TOUCH ME!"
aka Julie Mao said it in her weird mind gestalt with (one million, not 100 thousand) other minds/voices. SHow does really downplay the size of the Eros tragedy. GIven it's dimensions (roughly length/width the size of the Salt Lake Valley in Utah, but add a height dimension roughly equivalent to width) it could easily hold over a million people; especially when you realize it was the very first Asteroid spun up by Tycho corp. And had therefore been settled for well over 100 years But trying to convey the effect on a million people can be done in your own mid while reading, but not in a TV show.
I know they have to make it so you can see the Nauvoo, it would actually be so fast that by the time it was in visual range of the human eye it would cross the gap in miliseconds, but baller visual effect! Strap in, time to pile on the stress.
Fun fact, the doctor aboard the Mirasmus was shown at the start of the season when Miller and Holden were in the med bay aboard the Rocinante. There are so many details that can be so easily missed in this show
Keep in mind, Dresden wasn't necessarily giving Fred, Holden and Miller his motivation, he was trying to save his own life, and give them a sales pitch for why they should let him continue his research. Dresden had to convince himself and others that all those deaths were justified for the sake of research. He was almost certainly not thinking about how to save all of humanity, but just saying whatever he had to so he could keep experimenting. And Mao is clearly in it for himself. If he had all of humanity's interests at heart, he wouldn't have started a war to keep the Protomolecule a secret, he would have given the Protomolecule to the best labs across the solar system and set up a joint research project across all 3 factions. Instead he privatized it and named this alien tech after his own company, and set up all 3 factions to fight each other so that his (Mao's) actions would be unimpeded by anyone else.
You have to remember the proto-molecule is a living thing that they discovered. They released it on Eros to see what it could do. Apparently it can do a lot. Like move a giant space station.
Great reaction! You guys have great intuition. I love watching people experience this phenomenal show and figure things out they way I did when I first watched the Expanse.
Welcome to the beautiful universe of the Protomolecule! Also, did you catch that you have already seen the Marasmus doc before? He was on one of the News feed in the background after the crew returned from Eros. The world building is everywhere. Also also, what an episode to watch during these times. Holden should be in charge of the Corona response. He's able to do what is necessary even when it is the exact opposite of what he wants to do.
I love watching your faces when amazing stuff happens and you're in such shock. It's like living my first time watching this show, again. Very satisfying.
I just have thing to say to you two: keep going! :D Your reactions are great and you obviously love the series. More cool things to come, trust me. ;-)
"What are we dealing with, here?" A very good question, and one the supposed scientist, Dresden, ought to have asked himself before filling up all the empty space in his head with vainglorious fantasies of rewriting the human genome. Dresden's error was the same one Dawes told Miller all Earthers make. They assume the whole universe is theirs by right, to take for themselves and control completely. But it's just become evident the Protomolecule is under no one's control other than its own.
Something to note here: Eros moved... _but Miller didn't feel anything._ Whatever mechanism the protomolecule used to move Eros (I mean, it doesn't seem to have any visible engines or anything), it somehow _bypasses inertia._ We're in _"sufficiently advanced science is indistinguishable from magic"_ territory now.
I imagine it might be some sort of warp drive technology; in other words, instead of moving through space, Eros moves space around itself. That way Eros wouldn't have to actually move and so Miller wouldn't feel anything. Interestingly, a ship with a powerful enough warp-drive would be able to travel faster than light
@@smbthomas grew up reading Arthur C Clarke, Philip K Dick, Robert Heinlein. The 2 that make up James A Corey have brought excellent sci fi back to life. John Scalzi is another one with the Old Man's War Series
Larry Niven's Known Space novels, in particular the Ringworld series and Man/Kzin Wars series, do a lot with both fusion and inertialess drives. You use a fusion drive to move rapidly through space. You use an inertialess drive to move effortlessly around a planet's surface. (You use both together if there's someone on the surface who you feel has lived altogether too long.)
In the book, when the Nauvoo is about to hit, a voice among the thousands of voices on Eros yells out "DON'T YOU FUCKING TOUCH ME" and then Eros moves. Supposedly that got mixed in with all the other sounds during the scene, but this aired on SyFy first.
rright.. I am commenting years later, so no woirry of spoilers, but that was Julie's mind saying that, since she was the controlling intelligence at that point. Everything that happened from that moment on was her persona acting out.. dodging, speeding up, going stealth, etc..
I love that the Mormons’ ship is named the Nauvoo, for Nauvoo, Illinois, their very first major settlement in the US. They were persecuted and forced to go west, hence, Utah. And I love that ship’s decor of the Mormons’ history in America,
as a native of Utah, and descended from no less than 7 pioneer families, there is a critical detail that gets left out in such statements of their history. They were not innocent and blameless. Given their (all to usual for such groups) cultish behavior, isolationism, and arrogance toward their neighbors, they quite literally provoked the nearby communities around them in New York, Ohio, especially Missouri, and then again in Nauvoo.. though in that case it was primarily Joseph Smith being a local tyrant and thinking he could silence opposing views/criticisms by destroying a printing press in a nearby non-LDS community. I think we can all agree that *that* sort of an action will create a hornets' nest for real. Also, you do NOT qualify as a martyr if oyu go out guns blazing and kill someone in the process.
Your minds are blown here. Just wait... I love your reactions to this show. It makes me wanna go back and reread the books and rewatch the series. Also, Adam Savage has done a series of interviews with cast and crew for Season 4 of this show that I highly recommend.
“Holden was starting to feel like they were all monkeys playing with a microwave. Push a button, a light comes on inside, so it’s a light. Push a different button and stick your hand inside, it burns you, so it’s a weapon. Learn to open and close the door, it’s a place to hide things. Never grasping what it actually did, and maybe not even having the framework necessary to figure it out. No monkey ever reheated a frozen burrito. So here the monkeys were, poking the shiny box and making guesses about what it did.”
Quick physics lesson from someone that is not a physicist: Acceleration/deceleration and impact is pretty much the same thing. If someone hits you with a baseball bat in the face a part of your face will accelerate and the bat will decelerate. If you fall from one mile/kilometre up you will decelerate very suddenly when you hit the ground and also accelerate the ground in the other direction by an imperceptible amount since it is based on your mass compared to the object that you hit (in this case the Earth). This is why the show is careful with how fast you are accelerating/decelerating. Going from 0 to tens of thousands of miles per hour in a second would pulverize your body, and the same thing applies in the other direction if you slow down. Speeding up/slowing down fast enough is the same as hitting a hard surface at considerable speed. I am as I said not a physicist, so if a physicist says I'm wrong I guess I am, but if you keep watching this show you WILL be tested on this.
Yes, and no. "Same" is qualified by the aspect(s) in question. If we're talking about generally spherical, edible, tree-grown objects, then apples and oranges are the same. However, once we go past that, the obvious adage kicks in. So, since I am an accredited Not-A-Physicist but I _did_ stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, let me add some clarification. ACC/DECC is a rate of change in _velocity_ over time. IMPACT is a collision of objects (big or small). VELOCITY is relative _speed_ and direction. SPEED is distance traveled over time. STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY is the ability of an object or organism to remain intact against external forces (in nature that includes gravity). MOMENTUM is _velocity_ plus _mass_ . MASS is, um, stuff. Now, a complex object * could ACC/DECC from or to any SPEED at such a rate that it compromises the object's STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY and it suffers a catastrophic structural failure. But that isn't an IMPACT if no other object is involved. * I say "complex object" because its component parts respond in complicated fashion to an external force applied to or from one side whereas a metal ball would not suffer the same internal failure as, say, a human body of the same mass undergoing the same velocity change. Yes, IMPACT at high VELOCITY usually results in massive ACC/DECC and failure of the STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY of one or all objects involved, however a destructive IMPACT differs because the DECC of one object may not be catastrophic if the second object absorbs the majority of the destructive force (high MOMENTUM), then the first object doesn't experience any catastrophic failure because its DECC is minor (ie. there is no massive change in its VELOCITY). In other words, whether the drinking glass hits the rock or the rock hits the glass, it's always bad for the glass. This is of course due to relativity (a key component of VELOCITY and SPEED), INERTIA, and MOMENTUM (VELOCITY and MASS, yadda yadda). All which is to say, there is certainly massive ACC/DECC in any IMPACT but an object can survive the impact if the transfer of MOMENTUM is only catastrophic to the other object's INTEGRITY. Baseball bat vs skull. Car vs picket fence. Old tree vs Pontiac Fiero. Rock vs glass. Shotgun pellet vs flesh. In fact, _both_ can survive if the IMPACT VELOCITY is insufficient. Rock vs bulletproof glass. Basketball vs wall. Sword vs sword. Then there's the craziness of force ricochet and complex destruction of complex objects and distribution of momentum transference and fragmentation and object density and elasticity and blah blah in an impact of simple and complex objects (bones, flesh, muscle, sinew, cardiovascular systems, etc in a human, for one) which is the domain of forensic scientists, engineers, and Charlie Sheen's career. So, yes, a massive ACC/DECC from or to X SPEED can result in catastrophic effects to the object... ...but an IMPACT between _two_ objects where relative SPEED also equals X, may only result in catastrophic effects for _one_ object. So a destructive change in the VELOCITY of OBJECT A _could be_ the same as an IMPACT between OBJECTS A and B, only if (all things being equal and disregarding the more complex factors) the collision _actually results in the same change_ in VELOCITY for OBJECT A. Otherwise it is also possible for that IMPACT to result in no serious damage to OBJECT A and catastrophic damage to OBJECT B. Simpler: VELOCITY CHANGE is part of every IMPACT ***but*** IMPACT is _not_ part of every VELOCITY CHANGE. They are, in fact, pretty different.
Well ultimately the difference is the electromagnetic interaction on the atomic scale in a collision which is absent in acceleration of objects. But yes well put, the effect of the high accel/deceleration is similar to the structure as a collision

For all the cool plot stuff, I love how much attention you're paying to Gunny and the Marines and how convoluted the entire Earth/Mars situation is, because a lot of the coming episodes lean so heavily into it and I'm excited to see what you two think
I think realistically Errinwright and Mao don't really care if its a weapon or a tool or an icecream maker, they want it so that whatever it is it helps them
One cool detail that is kind of easy to miss is how gravity works on Eros. Eros and Ceres both use spin gravity a lot like some carnival rides. Miller and Diego are up against the surface on catwalks but because the way this works the asteroid is above them and space is down. That's why Diogo hangs like that and let's go to leave.
people are surprisingly quick to sign on to blowing up a ship full of doctors who were volunteering to help the most vulnerable people in the solar system! And the worst part for poor Holden is that even if that was the right call given the facts he had at the time - the fact that Eros moved means he could've let those doctors live and it wouldn't have made a goddamn difference :(
You gotta love how they go to such a great extent to establish the laws of physical and how strictly they stick to them, then throw in an element that defies the laws of physics.

If you go back to the communication when Dresden told Mao that Julie was dead, they were both talking about saving humanity, and we know from Mao's discussion with Errinwright that Mao is not concerned about the political shenanigans between Earth and Mars. So Mao's motive is the same as Dresden's.
@@kirkdarling4120 I cannot fathom that Mao would pay for a fleet of private corporate stealth ships, pay even more to recruit and train his own private corporate navy, deliberately try to foment a war between Earth and Mars, directly kill over a hundred thousand Belters on Eros, and indirectly kill 1.5 Billion people in South America, for altruistic purposes. If he merely wanted to save humanity, he could have taken the info from Phoebe and given it to the UN and enlisted the aid of humanity in the effort to save humanity. I don't care about what he may have said to Dr. Dresden. He would say whatever it took to motivate Dresden to fulfill Mao's goals. I look at what he actually did, not what he said to an underling.
@@kennethkalls4031 It's what he has said to both Dresden and Errinwright. Such as, to Errinwright (season2, episode 1): "Sadavir, you're witnessing a discovery that could rewrite the story of humankind, but your imagination only takes you as far as putting the boot heel to your former colony." Mao is looking at more than war bucks. There's more, but further points will come in future episodes.
BUUUUHAA-HAA-HAA- HAA !!!!! ( isn't that how you spell an evil maniacal laugh?) I can't wait for your reaction to the next episode, and the one after that, , and the one after that, and the one after that, and the one after that, and the one after that......
So, we're almost done with book one! It's weird because season 1 covers most of book one, Leviathan Wakes, and season 2 wraps it up and then moves on to book two, Caliban's War. Could have been clunky and awkward, but I think the show did a great job smoothly transitioning between books and seasons! Glad you're enjoying it so much - it just keeps getting better and better. Can't wait for your reaction to the mid-season finale!
I wanted to delay watching this episode so I can see this and the next one back to back. Oh I guess I have to wait a few more days until the next episode. One of my favorite episodes of the show.
A couple of quick points others have probably made. 1) if this feels like second to last episode of a season that’s because we are almost at the end of book one. 2) The show has been very good about showing the effects of acceleration on the crew. When a ship changes directions or acceleration they are either strapped in or get thrown around. Eros dodged the Nauvoo and Miller didn’t notice. Whatever the protomolecules capabilities are with Eros it’s beyond anything humans know how to do. 3) I think Errinwright and Mau are using each other. Mau seems to want to understand what the protomolecule is, what dangers it has and how to use it as a defense against the unknown. Errinwright sees it as weapon to be used to protect Earth against its political adversaries. Mau needed Errinwright for access to stealth ship components and other resources to investigate the protomolecule and Errinwright wants it for a weapon.
By the way, the brakes have officially fallen off of the train at this point, and there are only small dips in the insane action from this point forward
I'm pretty sure Earth is worried about Mars destroying all their (extensive) facilities/bases on the moon (enough to be visible from Earth at night), not physically destroying the Earth's moon itself - they likely wouldn't be able to do that.
Most of their shipyards are on the Moon, if I'm not mistaken (which makes sense since it's much cheaper to launch ships from there); just blowing those up would absolutely cripple Earth's capacity to project their power in the solar system.
Sad you left out Avasarala's statement 'So you are saying these people build a private fleet, made a profit and stayed under budget? We should put these people on the payroll...."
Eros is the biggest rock in the asteroid belt ...about 1/3 the size of the moon, so big its designated as a Minor Planet Apologies I messed up, the comments below about the size of Eros and Ceres are correct.
Ceres is really the biggest. But you’re right Eros is probably the second largest asteroid that they e charted so far. Ceres and eros are considered to be dwarf planets.
@@davedahl4461 eros is not considered a dwarf planet, its an asteroid. And there are dozens of them bigger than eros, ceres(dwarf planet 939km), Vesta 500+km,Pallas 512km, hygiea434km , and much more. eros is 34km and most of the time is not in the belt, its between earth and mars, but it passes by the belt in its orbit
How could you stop now? lol. I felt sort of sad for that little tug drone that got fried by the Nauvoo's engines, lol. Guess it reminded me of R2D2. That was an awesome launch.
Btw guys, do you like criminal investigation shows? I'd really love for you to react to "Bosch", another fantastic Amazon Prime production. Seems almost nobody is reacting to it, which is a shame. Like the Expanse it's based on a series of novels, and I think it's fantastic. Many people think it's the best of the Amazon productions along with The Expanse.
You know what the best part of all the mysteries and questions you have regarding the show? They have answers, and they are mindblowing. There is an endgame to the show, and it is pretty much set in stone. The books are written, with the final one soon to be published. Barring a cancellation or something tragic, we will actually get to see it all payoff. And it only gets better!! Lol.
A critical thing to keep in mind about the attack on that Martian moon, versus the loss of Luna: Deimos is a tiny asteroid captured by Mars' gravity eons ago.. It reflects no noticeable light, and has practically zero gravitational effect on the planet. Losing it was more a matter of pride and turf ownership. And as much as I hate Errinwright, there is ZERO Debate about the facts.. a Martian Warship opened fore without warning on a base controlled by an Earth Corporation, and destroyed it entirely. So , yeah, like it or not Mars attack an unprovoked and unarmed base.
I've watched this series from start to finish at least three times (including season 4), and I love watching your reactions to the shows. You don't know how hard it is to not blurt out (comment) the answers to the questions you ask at the end.

GIven it's dimensions (roughly length/width the size of the Salt Lake Valley in Utah, but add a height dimension roughly equivalent to width) it could easily hold over a million people; especially when you realize it was the very first Asteroid spun up by Tycho corp. And had therefore been settled for well over 100 years
But trying to convey the effect on a million people can be done in your own mid while reading, but not in a TV show.
I know they have to make it so you can see the Nauvoo, it would actually be so fast that by the time it was in visual range of the human eye it would cross the gap in miliseconds, but baller visual effect! Strap in, time to pile on the stress.
Guysssss, everytime I watch this I get goosebumps and all emotional. I have to calm down. Great reaction!!!
Lang Belta word of the week: Pampaw- a well-loved uncle or a friend held in similar esteem.
"Pampa" means "uncle". Colloquially used as "oldman".
Amos' reaction is sums it up well.
Season 1 : Set the ground rules
Season 2 : Break all of them
That Jules-Pierre Mao thinks of Julie's death as _his_ sacrifice is telling of the man's narcissism.
Great reaction! You guys have great intuition. I love watching people experience this phenomenal show and figure things out they way I did when I first watched the Expanse.
Just when you think The Expanse can’t get anymore intense they hit you with and episode like Godspeed such an amazing underrated show.!
Your faces in the Thumbnail...you're going to be making those faces a LOT through now to season 4
Through season four to be specific.
NO SHIT!!!!!
Season 5 also
@@sergusy you're completely right. That is what I meant but didn't say quite right! The Expanse is too good to not keep going for a veerrry long time.
I love watching your faces when amazing stuff happens and you're in such shock. It's like living my first time watching this show, again. Very satisfying.
I love the look on your guys face when Holden distorted the doctor’s ship.
I just have thing to say to you two: keep going! :D Your reactions are great and you obviously love the series. More cool things to come, trust me. ;-)
Loved the reaction guys!
Just a little eye roll for Nikki this time. I bet by the end of S2 she won't even blink at "Screaming Firehawks" :D
By then, she's gonna be one for sure
Something to note here: Eros moved... _but Miller didn't feel anything._ Whatever mechanism the protomolecule used to move Eros (I mean, it doesn't seem to have any visible engines or anything), it somehow _bypasses inertia._ We're in _"sufficiently advanced science is indistinguishable from magic"_ territory now.
One of my favourite Arthur C Clarke quotes.
@@TheDetailsMatter Ah, yes, the good old Kzinti lesson.
Absolutely loving these Expanse reactions.
It's awesome seeing people you love get so passionate about a show you love. Enjoy the ride ahead :)
Note that the laws of physics were just violated. And the characters KNOW the laws of physics just broke. It is that level of WTF.
I love that the Mormons’ ship is named the Nauvoo, for Nauvoo, Illinois, their very first major settlement in the US. They were persecuted and forced to go west, hence, Utah. And I love that ship’s decor of the Mormons’ history in America,
Either case, they're heretics and not Christians. Sorry, not Sorry.
as a native of Utah, and descended from no less than 7 pioneer families, there is a critical detail that gets left out in such statements of their history.
Quick physics lesson from someone that is not a physicist:
Acceleration/deceleration and impact is pretty much the same thing.
I think that's correct.
I study physics and I enjoyed reading that. Force is proportional to acceleration and a force transfers energy. I guess summarises your cool examples.
Simpler:
VELOCITY CHANGE is part of every IMPACT ***but*** IMPACT is _not_ part of every VELOCITY CHANGE.
They are, in fact, pretty different.
Well ultimately the difference is the electromagnetic interaction on the atomic scale in a collision which is absent in acceleration of objects. But yes well put, the effect of the high accel/deceleration is similar to the structure as a collision

Just noticed how many times they said Godamnit in this episode... Speaking of which... Godamnit Nikki, Steven... Teasing us with the one episode. Urgh, can... not... wait...😄
So yeah. A lot of people suggest watching episodes 4 and 5 together. I think y'all can understand why...
Or just watch whole seasons in one sitting 🤔
@James R Cliffhangers drive me nuts, as designed, but I hate waiting through a week of no entertainment.

(We're the torpedoes in that above analogy. Erm, I mean you. I'm Mr. Disciplined Restraint, over here.)
Finally! Your reactions are my highlight of the week!
love this episode. it's a proper two parter (with episode 5) so I cannot wait for your reaction to the next one. It's interesting. Just because it defends itself does that make it (The Protomolecule) a weapon? More twists and turns than a twisty turny thing.
Another wonderful reaction you can tell just how much you are both loving this show you faces paint a million pictures 🙂
For all the cool plot stuff, I love how much attention you're paying to Gunny and the Marines and how convoluted the entire Earth/Mars situation is, because a lot of the coming episodes lean so heavily into it and I'm excited to see what you two think
Mao's interest is in Mao. Not Earth. Not "the System."
Man, I can't wait for Thursday!
Fantastic reaction as always...love you guys.
I think realistically Errinwright and Mao don't really care if its a weapon or a tool or an icecream maker, they want it so that whatever it is it helps them
My wife is an Ex-Mormon and she cheered and gave a fist pump when it was suggested using the Nauvoo as a battering ram. Miller: "this is god's plan".
I'm a current Mormon and I had the same the reaction. It was a cool tie in.
And the worst part for poor Holden is that even if that was the right call given the facts he had at the time - the fact that Eros moved means he could've let those doctors live and it wouldn't have made a goddamn difference :(
Unless they were infected. Eros moving doesn't change that.
You gotta love how they go to such a great extent to establish the laws of physical and how strictly they stick to them, then throw in an element that defies the laws of physics.
Oh you have no clue of what is to come, so innocent. ;) lol jk

For Mau technology is power.
For Errynwright Mau's money is power.
If you go back to the communication when Dresden told Mao that Julie was dead, they were both talking about saving humanity, and we know from Mao's discussion with Errinwright that Mao is not concerned about the political shenanigans between Earth and Mars. So Mao's motive is the same as Dresden's.
Except Mao wants to sell the salvation to the highest bidder.
@@kennethkalls4031 No, I'd disagree.
@@kirkdarling4120 And we cannot discuss that now in this forum.
The next episode i think is one of my favorite hours of TV since the wire went off the air.

Miller just wants am excuse to look for what happened to Julie. The scientist have him hope. The guy has his own motives and plays solo.
Just watched Ep 5 ahead of tomorrow's reaction, and this show just got good!!! Wow, what an episode!
Good way to start my day. With a Nikki & Steven reaction :)
The looks on your faces during the final minutes of this episode were priceless.
“...a plan to take over the world.. or take over the universe” man that’s a big difference of magnitude haha
19:50-this is what's called a Commander Shepard decision.
25:40 Not a curveball, a curve _asteroid._ 😉
I'm pretty sure Earth is worried about Mars destroying all their (extensive) facilities/bases on the moon (enough to be visible from Earth at night), not physically destroying the Earth's moon itself - they likely wouldn't be able to do that.
Most of their shipyards are on the Moon, if I'm not mistaken (which makes sense since it's much cheaper to launch ships from there); just blowing those up would absolutely cripple Earth's capacity to project their power in the solar system.
Honestly don't know how you're going to edit episode 5 😉
Like always lovin you guys reaction!!

Eros is the biggest rock in the asteroid belt ...about 1/3 the size of the moon, so big its designated as a Minor Planet
Apologies I messed up, the comments below about the size of Eros and Ceres are correct.
I think you have Ceres -radius 940km confused with Eros - radius 8.42km. Eros is comparatively pretty small.
Ceres is a lot bigger than Eros.
I think you’re getting it mixed up with Ceres
no its not, eros is a rock between earth and mars orbit. ceres is the big capital of the belt

Love The Expanse and love you two reacting to it.
How could you stop now? lol.
I felt sort of sad for that little tug drone that got fried by the Nauvoo's engines, lol. Guess it reminded me of R2D2. That was an awesome launch.
If the Eros has propulsion it's now the largest spaceship in the system, despite being an asteroid.
Such a SICK cliffhanger

Btw guys, do you like criminal investigation shows? I'd really love for you to react to "Bosch", another fantastic Amazon Prime production. Seems almost nobody is reacting to it, which is a shame. Like the Expanse it's based on a series of novels, and I think it's fantastic. Many people think it's the best of the Amazon productions along with The Expanse.
Aaron Wright doesn't want to believe that Chrisjen is on to them because he wants to believe that he is in control.
Dude, ffs, Sadavir Errinwright.
Been waiting for you two to get here, just started so looking forward to your OMG!!!!!! faces 😲😀
Lol.
In the book a voice from Eros screams GET THE F-K AWAY FROM ME! It gave me a double take the first time I read it.
