I am in the process of making a Frozen themed cake for my daughter's birthday and have made this for the shards of ice! This was by far the easier recipe and process I have found on the internet!!! You made it so easy, it came out perfectly... Thank you so much!!!
Thank you for saying this...I have literally been scouring the internet for this exact reason. Need to bake the cake tomorrow. Will make the candy tonight! Epic.
I hope this works I only want a small amount to make a Frozen cake for my daughters 18th...she hates Frozen and we always buy a small piece of merchandise for her birthdays and Christmas sometimes its just the wrapping paper, but I can't wait to do this, I managed to get an Olaf and Elsa figurine too 😂🤣
Heat it in shorter increments and have your microwave set on a lower setting (if it's adjustable). Don't walk away from it and really keep your eye on it. I hope this helps.
Hey Leah-Michelle, great question. Mine didn't melt but if you're super worried, I'd zap it in shorter increments and check it out or change the plastic out. I poured mine fairly quickly.
This is such a great idea!! I'm planning to make some for the finale, but my question is wouldn't the plastic wrap over the bowl/cup just melt? And also, how long should I let it cool?
I made it I actually made it whenever I try things like this I always fail but I did it. I made it FOREAL and I decided to get a little more craftistic and I mad lollipops I very satisfied with the taste its is delicious I'm actually eating it as I talk very great for something you may want to suck on however I didn't use food coloring and without it,it looks more realistic Taste scale: 1 out of 10.... 8.5 I didn't add any taste to it soo. shoes 123 As molasses is a completely different product, it wouldn't be the same. Making your own corn syrup isn't too difficult or, you can always have it delivered right to your door by ordering lyles golden syrup or corn syrup online.

Cool recipe, never thought this would work using the microwave. If you want to change it up, you can use brown sugar instead of white.. use a splash of vanilla instead of food coloring and then add a few chopped almonds to the mix right before pouring.. and there you have it, the easy version for almond roca. Add some choc chips over the top while still hot if desired. I'm going to enjoy making different colored glass candy for Halloween, thanks for posting/sharing :-)

+emily fare Hi, Emily. It's important before starting any recipe to read it through. The direct link for all my recipes to print/save are always in the description box below the video. Another important thing to consider is achieving 300* since everyone's microwave is different depending on what part of the world you're in or what make and model you have. Mine is specifically 1.58 kw. It will definitely overcook and caramelize beyond the glass candy stage if it cooks beyond the hard crack stage. There is a wealth of info on my blog {plus a link for another video where I made this glass candy again with more info too in the description box}. Most importantly, please consider that what you're producing is super hot molten sugar. Please take the necessary precautions. Even if you were just boiling water, you could still burn yourself if you're not careful. Here, you're boiling simple syrup and it gets hot.
Hi, Emily. I didn't take it that way at all, I understand that it can be frustrating. When I first started baking, I never measured or timed anything and as I grew, I realized how important it is to be precise when baking. Cooking is great because it's much more organic and fluid. Some of my favorite dishes are born by throwing things together. I always joke with my family "enjoy it now, it won't ever taste the same again" haha. Anyways, I hope this has helped. I have nothing but love for you. Huge hugs!
I made this today. The first batch wasn't the best I adjusted the time, and my next three batches were amazing! Peach, pomegranate, and green apple. Thank you! They are a huge hit!

I'm going to try this. It's the weekend and I've been craving sweets for a really long time and I thought this would be great to try. but does anyone know how I would clean the measuring cup after?
I've made hard candy for years, but as I've gotten older I don't make it as often because it's too sweet for me now. I tried a very small amount of citric acid to try to reduce the sweetness, but that didn't really work. I would love to try this and see if it helps. 2 questions...I put flavoring in my hard candy, would the salt make it taste strange? About how much salt did you use?
"And perfect for Breaking Bad" Yes. Blue sky. Also, chilli Powder? Another Breaking Bad reference? J.Pinkman puts chilli in his meth at the start of the show. I love this woman.
