hey dan! i recently installed the pack myself and played with it for a bit, here are a few tips and things i noticed! -firstly, and i found out that if you put a block above the extractonator, and a hopper below, the hopper will suck the items from the internal buffer! -secondly, (unless it was changed) the boilers will only explode if you try to add water to an empty boiler while its still hot! so just make sure the boilers always have water in them ;) -thirdly(is that a word?), I noticed you could duplicate diamonds by macerating them into dust, crafting the dust into 9 tiny piles, and then putting 4 tiny piles in a forge hammer to get 1 diamond back, (this is most likely a bug so use that as you wish) -another note, in the "Tips and Tricks" section, the quest "Piping away!" will give you a free pump and conveyor!! -lastly, consider going solar asap, solar boilers need silver which is unlocked by the arc furnace pretty early into LV, solar panels tier I and II are already accessible to you! with tier III and IV needing lapis which is unlocked together with silver!
about the leather - rotten flesh can be crafted into leather. also when crafting some recipe multiple times: - select recipe from JEI - shift click to transfer crafted thing to inventory, then - tab. it will refill last used recipe. - shift click to grab whatever was possible with current resources extremely useful for batch crafting e.g. firebricks or blocks of bricks (just prefill 8x buckets with water than craft-tab-craft-tab-...).
Really liking how you’re taking your time in the Steam Age and building up infrastructure instead of skipping past it. Can’t wait until you unprivate episode 5 so I can keep watching!
For some reason it is so funny to see you automate the high pressure boilers with pumps and pipes, while still using the extractinator manually :D Even after being amazed at how the hopper could get the cobble out from the rock breaker and even tried feeding it directly into the top of the extractinator, but without completing the last step of putting another hopper under it to actually get the resources out... :D
Also for getting large amounts of netherrack, I think you can make a cobble gen with which water instead of normal water. There might also be a similar setup for the rock breaker to automate it
you can actually turn the low pressure steam macerator into a multiblock steam macerator which is as fast as x5.1 LV macerators in parallel though it will use some amount of bronze it is a worthy investment because it does recipes in batches, still no byproducts until HV though
Wow you changed your name and I had no idea you had a new series out. I have checked this out and I know nothing about GregTech but it looks interesting and you know I love a good grind. Im enjoying the series and hope you keep it up and you make it look fun and I may have to give this a go and show how terrible I can make it look compared to you LOL. Hope you and the family are doing well. Any chance you have another grindy but fun modpack coming out in the near future?
29:15 I don't think you actually need the pump here, I am pretty sure the tank can just export from the bottom automatically as long as you use the screwdriver on it like you did. And yes, that includes the wooden barrels you have been using since the start...
Also, right now you have a 128B buffer that is not really connected to any output. They both get steam input to fill up, and the higher will drain to the lower yes. But the lower one will no be used for anything right now, the steam will just sit there until you connect the downward side to some pipes/machines again like in the experiment
idk why you had idea that boiler without exit pipe will blow up. it exploded in your first episode because you have heated it without putting water into it. not because lack of a pipe. also you cheaty first pump you can get from "tips" quest line, with a cost of 6 tin plates and 6 bronze plates... the only one needed for lava boilers as water you can autopump from gt primitive pump which does not require any covers. another tip for new players: if you will start in snow biome - recreate the world :) i would recommend to recreate until you will find a biome without rain/snow.
Do you happen to know if you can pull items from an extractinator more quickly? Putting together an automated one and perhaps I was just being a big derp, but it seemed like only a hopper underneath works as an output if you don't want stuff flying everywhere
@@xDelta7x my guess - conveyor belts, but lv on the beginning are terribly slow, afair 4 pieces per second (i didn't tested if you can attach multiple of them to a single extractinator, probably i'll try that today :D ).
@@xDelta7x later - when simple storage network will be available (in lv, when you will start making quartz) - another option will be to use import cables
@@xDelta7x At MV you get a new electric extractinator since v5 of the pack, you don't need that many resources so a hopper and some stack upgrades in a backpack will be plenty until then

it is so weird not seeing the rock crushers just hooked up to the cauldron, closed loop without explody danger

Heh, that Wandering Trader had great comedic timing. “So, I can mute the machines” and then he starts being his usual noisy self.

10/10 mod playthrough! Absolutely great
congrats for making it to the modpack page!
Dan is one of the great Minecraft players but died in peaceful. Now that was funny. Thank you for not editing that out.

Create a glass selling above your base at the world height to stop snow.
the coke oven hatch auto outputs on all sides, so drawers can filter it and it also is usefull for getting the creosote out
you could always item pipe the rock crusher output into the crucible input to make it a closed loop
Use chisel for glass>scratched glass>scratched glass pane>glass pane so you dont need to use a saw or cutter for large crafts of prediction matrixes
use screwdriver to make it so the barrel can auto output from bottom
Are you planning on having a nice base?

maybe if you place the insert hopper on top of the block, itll fix your coal problem?
Hey Dan, the modpack has a mod called no nether portal, so it’s unlikely you can make one

You ever gonna automate that extractinator properly?
woot
Nice
