European Super League: Manchester United fans protest against ownership, demanding '50+1' model

- Опубліковано 23 кві 2021
- Hundreds of Manchester United fans gathered outside Old Trafford to protest against the Glazer family's ownership, calling for Germany's '50+1' ownership model to be adopted in the UK.
Under rules that apply to the German Football League, 50% of a football club's shares, plus one share, must belong to the club's members - in other words, the fans of the team.
The ownership model is being considered by the UK government as a way of preventing proposals like the European Super League.

Even bigger protest next Sunday at 2pm before the Liverpool game #GlazersOut
Plz protest for us too 🙏🙏
United and Liverpool fans need to protest together, that will have a huge impact.
@@shivamkabra6104 we will...we are both the biggest clubs in England..we all are together in this
@@miked0073 absolutely mate we need to get these scavengers Out of here
@@kylerrrr 100%. Lets put our differences to one side as this is a major problem for both of us; the two best clubs in England under the control of American businessmen who have only their own interests at heart
They thought they could do whatever they wanted .how wrong they were
absolutly very wrong
it's not enough. more needs to be done. the football club is not a commodity to be bought in the supermarket. levergaed buyouts of football clubs must be stopped.
How unsurprising

I am all for getting the Glazers out. More important to get our freedom and liberties back. Well done to everyone that marched in London.
They can do whatever they want, as long as fans keep buting tickets, subscriptions and merchandise.

We all need to stand together not each club doing there own thing but every fan club coming together and getting them all out as this at United will never happen as the so called fans will get board soon and before anyone says i don't like United been a fan for 50 years and all my family are United supporters

Can't believe I'm a Liverpool fan rooting for Man Utd fans to take hold of their club. This is about football. These owners took us for dead beat fools. How wrong were they!!

As a football family we need to protest together or else nothing will happen. When we come together as a football family we will get politicians with us which gives a much heavier weigh for the protest. These protests are so lovely to see but they dont really do anything. We need to stand together as football fans, not fans of a club right now.
FSG only funded Van Dijk and Alisson because of the Coutinho sale lol
Wrong. VVD was going to be bought regardless.
Thats so true over the space of 5 years they spent net £100millon £20 million a season
Kroenkes and Glazers, FSG out !!
Spot on 😆
@@abdulmumin6251, well they've done very well with whatever they've spent, if it wasn't for injuries they'd certainly be up there with City again.....
Liverpool and utd fans should do a joint demo for the sake of there clubs.
Sunday before the game united have another one.
I dont think Liverpool fans want their owners out as bad as we do the Glazers tbh . I think United fans have suffered the most #GlazerOut
they are I believe. I think (don't quote me on this) but both fans are doing a march/ protest from the center of Manchester to Old Trafford
@Blaze Temp Spot on mate
@@jackjack-pi2gp that's exactly the plan. Although we shouldnt really expect much from our friends at Liverpool, Their owners have been better than Glazers and I am hearing their Manager and Captain are calling on their fans to keep calm about their owners, that they're good people (Though not sure how true this is). United have to fight our battle alone
Theses owners didn't seem to understand that clubs and communities are the same thing

0:47 from Tommy Taylor to Denis Law to George Best. To Frank Stapleton to Mark Hughes and Brian McClair, to Eric Cantona and the Premier League Era legends? He's been here for EVERYTHING
Don’t like the way Sky made it seem that we’re marching cause they don’t talk to us. They’ve neglected the club for 15 years. #Glazersout.
@D Murray They signed players from the funds that the club generated. Rather than signing players and improving infrastructure, the Glazer s have extracted close to 2 billions pounds from the club's in dividends, interest payments from the leveraged buyout. etc.
Please refrain from making ignorant comments. I would assume it would make your own life smoother.
@D Murray They've taken 1 billion out in dividends, they've not invested they just made us pay with our own money and expected us to thank them for it.

All fans should be protesting outside Westminster. It’s futile when the fans protest outside their stadiums. Protesting to the owners about the owners??
I somehow agree ...
What happened to the protest?
Why did they connect with Liverpool news? Click bait?
more than 20 million Manchester United fans around the world: GLAZERSOUT!!!! #glazersout
Glazer at United. Werner at Liverpool. Abramovitch at Chelsea. Levy at Spurs. I wonder if by any chance they could be connected.
Is COVID even a thing in the UK.
There must be consequences for the participating clubs

It wont have any impact. The only way to have an impact is if fans stop going to games and buying subscriptions
How is Real Madrid president still president even today he is saying ! Teams can’t leave super league they signed contracts
Because he is Real Madrid itself.
Well, most of their fans seemingly agree with the insanely self-serving Super League plans. Success even at the cost of integrity for Madridistas bar a few.
Hope that helped.
Made me really confused when I saw the yellow ans green scafs lol
This is the problem with english football. They forgot about local fans. Most of the man utd supporters are from outside manchester or even England
Support non league football
Imagine if people cared this much about actually important stuff
Scousers the Liverpool based are easily satisfied with things. Glazers gave more funds to united yet united fans protesting. Makes me sick as a lfc fan. Fans outside Liverpool of lfc, are not like those near Liverpool.

Only 300 people turned up out of 665m that's not good enough
When are people going to realise that the spectators do not own or have any say whatsoever regarding a business desicion taken by a privately owned football club!
Props to the people that actually wore masks.... And that guy's mullet.
Are they not suppose to be 2mtrs apart ?
Must have been a long drive for them all from Essex
Glazers may go and mbs will come in. These 4 bn valuation is massive and only a few can spend that much.
The Glazers have weakened United from a tremendous club to an also ran. They leveraged a buyout against the clubs assets, quickly recovered the 270 million they put in and have saddled the club with £1.2 billion of debt (500 million short term, with an additional 700 million long term). The Glazers and United the club (not their loyal fans) desperately needed the ESL, as the next decade will show. United fans deserve better but their absent owners don't want to sell and they have all the voting rights.

That's what I'm talking about 👊👹👹👹👹
The fans need control over the money made only a small chunk of it is being used on transfers the club should at least every summer window be investing at least 200-300m
Lol Foot Ball 🔔 ends. 😂
We need more fan involvement in football. Football is for the fans, let us have a vote.
None involved are blameless but I reckon Arsenal, Liverpool and Man U have had a major part in this.
Yep owners are in for 100% of the money and 0% of the glory. Would be nice if they realised these two things go hand in hand.

Protesting outside the stadium won't do much when the Glazers have no interest in it, other than the matchday revenue.

@Chief protesting achieves nothing. The only protest that makes a difference is refusing to spend your mony on them i.e. dont buy tickets shirts tv subscription
Should have passed by the bank on their way to protest.
Wow
No more Americans owning Manchester United Football Club. Joel Glazer out now! All Joel Glazer cares about is money not the club.
We all need to pull together to bring inthe 50+1 model, it doesn't mean that clubs like Liverpool, Chelsea and Man City have to turn against their owners.
Nah nah nah nah. The owners need to go. The haven’t put in a single dollar of our own money. They took us over when we were 400mil in debt. United has amassed over 1.7 billion dollars since they took over and we are now 500mil in debt. They’ve taken 1.5 out of our club in dividends for a themselves instead of investing
@@En1_1 Yes Man Utd and Arsenal have really bad owners and that's why there's a movement to try to remove them. I said Liverpool, Chelsea and Man City supporters don't need to turn against their owners but we need supporters of all clubs to push for 50+1 fan ownership.
I think this super league is the best thing to happen as it has finally woken about how there clubs runned and the greed behind the owners
It wont have any impact. The only way to have an impact is if fans stop going to games and buying subscriptions
Manchester United is a CLUB, Manchester United F. C. NOT Manchester United Ltd, or Manchester United Inc. It is a club, not a business. The fans make a club, be it chess or football.
Glazer out!!!
I'm a Liverpool fan but I'm with the man utd fan's
I think Man Utd, Arsenal and United are among a few clubs with really poor owners. Most of the others have great owners- City, Chelsea, Wolves,Liverpool and Leicester come to mind
they seam to have forgotten £850 million spent on players since sir alex left ...
German model doesn't stop the best players being sold are fans consulted no
These fans claim to be working class and poor. United is worth over £4 billion. Where are the gonna find over £2 billion to buy 50% of the stake? Such hypocrites, isn't Barca and Real Madrid fan owned too? How did that go for them
Absolutely correct, fans unless their billionaires will never get to 51%, it's just fantasy...
I know its never going to happen, but I actually think it would be possible reasonably easily. There are a lot of Man Utd supporters who could and would chip in. Put me down for a couple of grand.
@@englanduk6131 The cynicism in this one though.

Fake news. FSG did not buy van Dijk and Alisson, it was the Coutinho sale which bankrolled those transfers.
Wrong. VVD was going to be bought regardless. Liverpool were literally trying to buy him while fighting the sale of Coutinho.
we need to stand together we cannot let our clubs be run by far removed american bussinessmen we need OUR clubs back

This is great to see and all but a 50 + 1 with united fans? I hope it has nothing to do with transfers 😭😭 people saying "bring back Ronaldo" on the insta like its gonna happen
All their arguments can be applied to Westminster with respect to Scotland
this whole thing seems like it was created by Uefa just to be able to expand the champions league without any resistance....the clubs so quick to pull out like it was never going to happen anyway, the owners had the spines of jellyfish

Seize the means of control
🔵🤝🔴 BEING IN THE 50+1 RULE
I get the opposition to a super league, but there’s parts to this where I think the clubs are in a no win. Fans demand success, trophies. Players demand exorbitant salaries. Other clubs demand ever increasing transfer fees. So the clubs spend and the fans complain when things don’t work out as planned. Be mad at the clubs but this is on the fans too. And as for the other clubs who feel betrayed, does anything think Everton (just an example) would have turned this down if invited?
As someone of the Mancunian persuasion - success definitely, however, not at the cost of intergity.
