3:43 Sunset Vista was indeed harder and longer than what we got in the final version, some say even more than Stormy Ascent. Whatever you're seeing in CrashEdit after the exit portal is what's left of that section, after they cut it during development. That extra section can be found and played in the April 8th 1996 prototype of the game.
3:06 the map layout it looks like Cortex Power was meant to be the first level of the last island instead of Heavy Machinery even if it wasn’t the case
I was already kind of familiar with the level of optimization there is in Crash Bandicoot, but that plant at around 1:46 was a new and honestly mind-blowing detail. You've got some really interesting content here and your voice is very pleasant to listen to. Instant sub from me, keep up the good work!
Unlike yourself, my first experience on the PS1 as a five year old, was Crash Bandicoot 2. I would love to see you do the same with that game in particular! 😁I'm not so sure if it will be the same though...
Cool vid. Hope to see Crash 2 soon!
Amazing video. Hearing people talk about it is one thing, but it's cool to see these things being explored in real time.

That was a great video! Loved Crash Bandicoot as a child.
Crash Bandicoot was one of my first video games too. I was 4 yrs old when it came out. 😊
awesome video man, keep it up!
That was a fascinating exploration! Always neat to see the "what-ifs" game devs leave in.
really cool vid!

They are quite similar actually! I'm planning to do a Crash 2 video too
