Fujiya Country Ma'am Chocolate Chip Cookies are very popular soft and chewy cookies in Japan.
Vanilla and chocolate flavor are the ever classic, but there are some limited flavors such as Matcha green tea.
    ---------------------------------
Country Ma'am (Matcha Green Tea Latte Flavor)
    Difficulty: Easy
    Time: 1hr
    Number of servings: 25 cookies
    Ingredients:
100g (3.5oz.) unsalted butter *room temperature
    50g (1.8oz.) brown sugar
    1 egg *room temperature
    vanilla extract
    160g (5.6oz.) all purpose flour
2 tbsp. Matcha green tea powder
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    40g (1.4oz.) white chocolate bar
    40g (1.4oz.) milk chocolate bar
    Directions:
    1. Cream the butter in a large bowl. Add sugar and mix until white and fluffy.
    2. Add the beaten egg little by little, and mix well. Add a few drops of vanilla extract and mix well.
    3. Sift in flour, Matcha powder, and baking powder, then mix well with a spatula.
    4. Wrap in plastic wrap and cool in the fridge for about 30 minutes to set.
    5. Break the chocolate bars into small pieces.
    6. Divide the dough into 25 pieces. Make it flat and place the chocolates. Roll into a small ball. Then press the center of the ball gently with your finger to make it flat.
    7. Bake at 170C (338F) for 10 minutes. Cool the cookies on the baking sheet or a wire rack.
You can keep the cookies in an airtight container or a Ziploc bag for a week.

Tried this recipe today and it turned out so well! The cookies were soft, had a good balance of flavors, and the matcha color came through beautifully. This is my new go-to matcha cookie recipe! Thank you!

So I made these cookies and subbed the matcha for equal amount of cocoa powder, and used dark chocolate instead of milk&white chocolate. The result? Heaven. They weren't sickly sweet, by had rather a soothing sweetness with a hint of bitterness lurking in the back of your tongue. 10/10 would make these again. Thank you Ochikeron-san 💕✨

Thank you very much for this recipe !! I tried it out and it was very good, not too sweet, but not too bitter either. It’s also an easy recipe I think anyone can make (I’m really bad at cooking and I successfully made them). For people who will try this recipe, I highly suggest you make sure your egg and your butter is room temperature. Also, beat the egg with the sugar and the butter for a long time, or else it might make a bad texture and you’ll have to throw it away. (Like I did the first time)

I just tried this recipe, but instead of matcha powder (it's almost impossible to find it in Turkey) I used granulated pistachios. The dough was a bit runnier (because it lacked matcha) so the shape was round in the end. But after baking... The taste was amazing, everyone said this was the most delicious cookie they ever had! 本当にありがとうございます!

When I made the dough, it looked a little dry D: What should I add to make it less dry?
I had to convert the measurements to cups and tbsps but I ended up using:
7 tablespoons of room temp unsalted butter
    1/4 cup dark brown sugar
    1 room temp egg
    drops of vanilla extract
1 and 1/4 cups all purpose flour
    2 tbsp green tea powder
    1/2 tsp baking powder

    • @watt4126
      @watt4126 6 років тому

Mine was a bit dry too. For me, it was because I added too much flour at once and didn't add it gradually as I mixed. Try adding in a tablespoon of water, mix it thoroughly, then if the consistency still isn't right add in another tablespoon of water and mix again. Repeat until you reach the right consistency.

To answer some people's questions about their dough coming out dry:
It may be due to which fat you use. I assume margarine has a higher liquid content due to it being an oil based product. In comparison, butter has less liquid content than the margarine. So with butter based dough, you need to quickly work with it or else it may dry out quickly.
This is just based on my assumption so please don't take my word for it. Hopefully this assumption is correct and it answers the dry dough question :)
