- Hello Friends!
Welcome back to a new series on my channel, called "20 Questions with"! I had ton of fun asking people 20 questions during CoCoVid and people seemed to really enjoy it, so I thought I would carry it over here as a way to let you get to know different people in the costuming community! This is my fun way of introducing you to other costumers and costubers by asking them silly ice breaker questions!
Today, playing 20 questions is Morgan Donner! Come hang out for a few and get to know Morgan through a series of weird ice breaker questions!
I hope you enjoy!

AHHHHH, thank you so much Noelle for having me on your channel, chatting with you is always the best! ❤️
And THANK YOU to all you awesome commenters suggesting versions of potato pancake! It is now my mission to try making them all 🍴
Please distill to the top 3 and we can eat make them together next time I am up there!!! 💖💖
And of memory serves, you showed up on her channel in the Seattle meetup video in addition to your CoCo cameo.
Oh that is totally true!!! Pandemic brain has erased those vlogs from my memory!
Yes Morgan potato pancakes or Latkes are made with shredded potatoes, shredded onion, and flower salt and pepper I think eggs and something else. Mixed and fried in a little oil. It has been a while since I've made them there are many recipes on YT. ENJOY
Morgan - you would make a great science officer on The Enterprise ! Let the other people do the phaser fights, and you still get to tour the galaxy and seek out new life and new civilizations!
Worth the price: Good shoes! Wearing cheap shoes is the worse!
American Duchess shoes are a luxury worth the cost!
Totally worth paying more for quality shoes! Not just expensive shoes, because those can still be crappy on your feet, but good quality shoes that fit well and support one’s feet well, but also still look cute. That’s the holy grail of shoes for me.
Those 'girl befriends tiny dragons' books are the Harper Hall Trilogy: Dragonsong, Dragonsinger, and Dragondrums and they hit me at a similarly impressionable age. XD Great video! Good to see Morgan around as well.
I just started reading the Harper Hall trilogy to my boys! They were my first intro to Anne McCaffrey when I was 12, I think.
One of my favorite series!
I read these to my daughter when she was 9!
Yes, the Harper Hall trilogy is the best gateway into the Pern books. Far better introduction than the first trilogy.
Never heard of those books but my brother and I are a sucker for dragons, would you recommend them for college age "kids" too?
I think the biggest luxury is mental youth. If you can keep the innocence, fun, exlporation, and romance of being 12, then you have nailed something quite priceless.
Quote of the day: “everyone should strive to be a good potato”
Agree.
+
I'm an amazing couch potato.
But only after Spain and Portugal invaded the Americas and Spain conquered (and robbed?) Quechuas
("Incas") in Andes and took non sweet
potatoes, while they took several sweet
potatoes in Caribbean.
One “luxury” that is totally worth the price, and it’s not worth getting the cheap version:
Natural fibre fabrics!
Because polyester is the devil. And I’m poor, so natural fibres are definitely a luxury for me, but I’d rather save up and get them, because there’s nothing worse than wrapping yourself in plastic when you live in a semi tropical city (Brisbane, Australia).
absolutely!
That's what I was thinking. Actual silk!
Ann McCaffrey, Dragons of pern series that has the fire lizards...also it wasn't acid rain but thread that ate all organic material with exception to stone and steel
PERN! Anne McCaffrey's Dragonsinger was the first book I'd ever bought for myself and I've read every single book in the series. It wasn't acid rain but spores from a passing comet. I'd much rather have a dragon lizard than a dragon - the care and upkeep are much less!
My brain has mushed the baby shark answer and the dragon answer and now I have "baby dragon doo doo da doodoo" in my head.
Uh thanks...for the earworm
🤣😂😂
@@susandickerson2663 Happy to help! ^.^
As a baker, a pop tart is not a calzone. Besides the fact that calzones are savory and pop tarts are sweet, calzone dough and pop tart dough are completely different. Calzone dough is yeasted, and more similar to bread dough, whereas pop tart dough is sort of like a cookie-pie dough hybrid. The only similarity is that they're both filled, and if that's the only categorical criteria you're going by, then they're both dumplings. Or empanadas. Or pierogi.
WhaaaAAAAAT?!?! You’re both _TREKKIES?!_ ❤️🤯 Oh, Noelle, please tell me their’s a Klingon-inspired dress you could make, or...Oh! A bustle dress based off the Ferengi waist-coat look!! That could look awesome!! Squeee! Lol
Great to see Ms. Donner, enjoying this series!
The love of the blue box Mac & Cheese is real, abiding, and life long 😀
Pasta and Cheese rules!
I love the 20 questions series. I totally relate to the growing up poor and not having a lot of money and now having the ability earn money and live in the upper middle class, I’m still sometimes in awe of it. Like shopping in Nordstrom’s and Saks amazes me.
I am listening to the Dresden files because of you two, and James Marsters voice is just so pleasing
Jealous.
James Marsters with his normal accent? Because that just sounds weird to me.
Yes Morgan! Ensign on the Enterprise my all time DREAM! lol
Noelle, I absolutely adore this addition to your channel! It’s so fun to see how the conversation goes based on the questions and getting to know different aspects of the people you interview. ❤️❤️❤️
Coming from the North of Britain, both pop tarts and calzones are pastys
Calzones have yeast bread. To me the difference between piecrust & yeast bread is vast. However, tortillas are in between and harder to categorize.
Coming from Michigan USA I agree
I miss a good Pasty!
Totally agree. Although Greggs seem hell bent on calling them ‘bakes’, which is just plain wrong. Pah!
I’m so excited. I decided to jump in and make a walking skirt. I ordered some wool and a truly Victorian pattern. I’ve taken your advice and just doing the thing. Wish me luck all.
Toilet paper is definitely worth paying more for
Ugh during the tp shortages inApril all that would be left on the shelf was bougie Charmin so that's what I'd buy and now i can no longer be satisfied with quilted northern. Hashtag plague problems.
A luxury that is totally worth the price: A taxi. When you need to be somewhere and don't have your own car... splurging on a taxi (vs. taking the bus or train) feels so good.
I’m guessing it’s either a lychee, rambutan or longon. Aloha btw 🌺
I love the Dragonsong books and can't wait until my oldest daughter "discovers" them in our family library!
Also, if a hot dog is discribed as not having the bun/bread totally separated, does that mean a Subway sandwich is a hot dog? 😁
My luxury item is heated seats in my car, and now it’s a necessity as well, for back problems
Heated steering wheel!!! Oh ma gerd
@@veronicavatter6436 hubby’s car was reported to have this, sadly it doesn’t 🙁 but living in the south we will be okay
I loved Pern! I also loved Darkover
McCaffrey is my favorite writer. The Dragon Riders of Pern is the best dragon story. The Harper Hall Trilogy if a great set of stories.
I saw the last "20 Questions with"
Please keep doing more. These are so fun
I loved this one!!! I feel like I’ve found long-lost friends. I love that technology allows us to connect with people all over the world, and find kindred spirits, particularly when someone takes the time to introduce us to even more. Thanks so much for sharing a bit of yourselves with us. Love, light, and blessings to you and yours.
I was going to ask if I was the only one answering along with Morgan. Then I read through the comments and I'm not alone yay. Xoxo
Luxury items: expensive project materials, nice leather shoes that fit, getting to travel when we can again, maybe a nice meal out or going to a performance
And I love how Avatar is getting mentioned in all these 20 questions with episodes. I want to befriend Heybai (spell?) he's amazing!
Dragonriders of Pern!!! The good tiny dragons I love them!
Cheese board!! Yes! Cheese for the win - AGAIN! Love this series. ❤️❤️❤️
Morgan for president! ✨🌟✨
Another great video!!!! And, I love the books Morgan mentioned. I also saw that a few people already mentioned them. They are a really fun and fast read. The whole Pern series is a fun read actually. 👍🏼😀
OMG, I love the Harper Hall Trilogy. My step-dad is a massive Anne McCaffrey fan and obsessed with all things dragon. I only ever really got into the Harper Hall trilogy and The Masterharper of Pern. They remain some of my favorite books today.
Regarding the potato question: in Germany, this is called a Kartoffelpuffer 😂
Sandra Gohrbandt oooh! I love that name! Kartoffelpuffer is so fun!
Or Kartoffelrösti
Or Reibekuchen. I think it depends on where in Germany we're from xD ^^
Is the fruit lychee? And I think the potatoe recipe you're mentioning is rösti.
Is that enough to feed the alg*rithm?
Here's to you both anyway :❤️❤️❤️
Sounds like rambutan
the Anne McCaffrey book you are looking for is "Dragon singer", and in later books the Thread was eliminated. the whole "Pern" series is great I've read and reread them for years.
😂😂Love these random questions! 👍Please keep them coming Noelle!
I love that the timing of these has been aligning with me getting ready with bigger costume looks! Love this series!
What fun! ❤️ Really enjoy learning so many new facets of these talented ladies' personalities! Be safe...have a great weekend!
A wonderful video to brighten up a snowy Saturday afternoon. Thanks, ladies, for sharing a bit of yourselves with us. So much fun. Take care.
Potato Pancakes! Definitely a thing and one of the absolute best ways to prepare potato pancakes!
Love it! Morgan is my gateway drug to Costube & you all have enriched my heart, staysafe ~C; your nerdyRN
Thank you Noelle, I'm really enjoying these 20 questions videos. Thank you Morgan, I now have Baby Shark stuck in my head. Lastly, a hot dogs are not a sandwich.
You are amazingly positive. I love that. It’s very refreshing.
YES!!!! The baby dragon story is my childhood favourite story ❤️
referring to morgan's answer regarding potato pancakes, i believe the item is called a rosti,(a potato fritter) its a dish from switzerland and considered to be a their national dish. also a hot dog is a sausage roll, because it doesnt contain any sort of salad or vegetables.
This was so fun to listen to! Thanks for letting us get to know you better, Morgan! and Noelle! Dragonsong, Dragonsinger, Dragondrums all three are on my bookshelf! (Anne McCaffrey's series with lots of fire lizards), and, yes, I want one (or 10), too!
Two favourite youtubers, in a video together! I am overjoyed!
If you're going to get a Baby Dragon... maybe specify that it has to be a baby dragon that doesn't like the taste of cats ;) *Hugs to Keanu*
Day 6 of Tinkerbell costuming over here... I just finished off a pair of slippers that I spent most of yesterday planning out and working on! (Yay for a new video!!! I've finished watching all of your other videos on this channel now!!!)
Anne McCaffrey's Harper Hall Series in the Dragons of Pern universe!!! I too have always wanted one of the fire lizards. They are the origins of the dragons, who were bred over the centuries for size!
Fireizards!!! Morgan, you just won my heart again. You and I totally need to hang out! Menoly is my hero.
super excited you guys are reading Dresden files - it's a great series. His more "sword and horse" series, Codex Alera, is also wonderful!
Luxury worth the money: pedicure, hands down. Is a hotdog a sandwich? Define ‘sandwich’. But what else would it be?
Yes, fire lizards! Menolly is the girl's name and it's the Harper's trilogy. (I might have read those a few hundred times or so.😄)
My first concert: The Knack, with Rubber City Rebels at UCSB in Spring of 1980
Potato: potato knish has crust... yum
Or Norwegian Lefse, a flat bread based on potato
Or smashed potato with enough wasabi to turn it a bit green. Had that in NYC and I cannot seem to duplicate it. Incredible.
Wow, I didn't know you two had a podcast about speculative books! As a speculative everything nerd myself, I am super stoked!!!
100% there with Morgan and the fire dragons! Menolly was my favorite person in the series for a long time.
Yesss!!!! I knew insomnia would serve me well. Helloooo from Perth Western Australia.
The series is called the Harper hall series and specifically you're talking about Dragonsong, dragonsinger, and dragon drums:) the planet is called Pern. And the *acid rain* is called thread. Love you!!
Explosions in the sky is so good and calming !!!! It's instrumental post rock
Love these 20 questions with...!
I like all the noodles, Pad Kee Mao was my dinner last night, soo good.
Thank you Noelle and Morgan, two of my favorite people who I have never met!). Listening to Morgan makes this Northshielder in exile, for the first time kinda want to play in An Tir. Not sure you know what I mean, Noelle, but Morgan almost certainly does. Ducere, Ministrare, Illuminare!
Awesomeness!!!!
How could you not say that great silk, wool, or linen are favored luxuries? Or gemstones for period jewelry? 💕
I was about to leave a comment about being surprised she didn't say high-quality fabric lol
That was my thought as well. Morgan always seems to have such gorgeous wools, esp.
That was also my first thought!!
You took me on a trip through the past mentioning Menolly and her fire lizards. Thank you for that :)
Brandon Mull's, "Fablehaven" series is a fun magical read. dragons, fairies, centaurs, and all kinds of magical creatures
Morgan as a crew member on Star Trek Lower Decks is a thing I need right now!
Enjoyed this session. Thank you both!
15:33 we have these in Poland too, we simply call them potato crumpet, we do not squish out all of the moist, just most of it, then add some flour and egg, I think without an egg it would fall apart while frying, also it improves the taste. But most important is not to add too much flour, because taste of potatoes has to be clearly recognizable.
Love your pasta choice!
Another fun 20 questions ☆
Yay! I love Dresden files!
Very enjoyable. Noelle, your smile is lovely.
Something to spend money on -- A quality pair of leather boots or shoes.
Dude! Yes, the Dragon Riders of Pern are fantastic books!
That was fun, ladies!
Dresden Files is my most favorite series! Took my husband years to get me into it, but he converted me.
Fire lizards! I want one too... Love the Pern series... Haper Hall series - Dragonsong, Dragonsinger and Dragondrums! They have thread that falls...
My luxury items are crafting supplies that I don’t feel like making myself!
It’s a hamberdog! Me at 3 for either hotdogs or hamburgers lol
Oh, I enjoyed this. (I did not get into the Ann McCaffrey dragon books, I confess). Lichi (I'm spelling that wrong) taste like the smell of roses. At least in my experience. Currently knitting a shrug and making a beaded necklace. Crafts ahoy!
Yeah! Fire lizards! My favorite part of Anne McCaffrey!
Great 20 questions!! Morgan would be the seamstress on the Enterprise repairing all the ripped uniforms...
The potato question: I think Morgan means Rösti!
That definitely fits her description.
I read the Harper Hall trilogy (Dragonsinger is the first) in high school and I loved it too.
Place I want to visit-Tortall!!! As soon as Noelle asked that’s what popped in my head.
My favorite pasta dish is cheeseburger pasta!
10:15 Morgan spitting some wholesomeness. Damn That's a really good answer. Love it.
The book Morgan is talking about is called "Dragon Singer."
20 questions! Bring it.
I love the Dresden Files!
Oh bow-tie noodles with creamy sauce, the absolute best thing! And also Rösti
Uncle Iroh as a guide!!!
Re: potato pancake. If you make it with matzo meal instead of flour, you get latkes. Good with either sour cream or applesauce. And a hot dog is a sandwich.
hells yess im happy now tank you
The Sandman! Listened to it on audiobook...freakin awesome!
That was fun 😁
I love the Pern lore! Anne McCaffrey created that world so clearly!
thank you!
I still enjoy Ann MacCaffrie's Pern series.
The first thing I said on the luxury q was a massage!! I love them and they are very good for the muscle issues I have. I would not go to outerspace if it were possible. I too like to be on the ground. This was fun! Thank you!
