The Pineapples sound amazing! There's a Nando's just down the street and I've never been there. Fantasy novels and Doctor Who. This lady is wonderful. That book IS older than my country . 🍁 Kevin Hearne is a seriously fun author. I see this lovely lady on Instagram and Facebook. Her pictures are always so beautiful and her thoughts on mental health resound with me. Thank you, Noelle, for featuring this inspiring costumer. Take care.

I iron my tea towels as well. But it's for saving space in my cupboard. Because when they're ironed, they take up less space than unironed ones.

  • @catherinerw1
    @catherinerw1 3 роки тому +1

Ironing tea-towels makes a lot of sense! They fold up smaller... and I agree with the sterilising thing! An iron is hot enough to burn, so likely to be hot enough to kill any bugs residual from a low-temperature wash.. or feline re-furring!
I also iron duvet covers and pillow-cases, as they are more comfortable :)

When I was young, mom would ask us if we wanted a hot dog or a sandwich when she was making hot dogs. The hot dog was on a bun with ketchup, pickle relish, chili and such. The sandwich was sliced hot dogs with mayo, lettuce, tomato and cheese. So I guess for our family it was both. She was from Germany and my dad was from the mountains of Virginia. I continued it with my family 🤣

Watching this while ironing tea towels completely convinced that's a normal thing to do :D
My mum and my sister do it and as soon as a had apartment big enough for an ironing board I started doing it again. For the same reasons Amy and her mum do it - they get nice and crisp and disinfection. I wash my tea towels together with my bath and hand towels and also sheets and I don't usually boil them but put them on at 60 degrees Celsius and it just feels better to give them a hot steaming to make sure all germs are out before I use them in the kitchen. But I also use my tea towels a lot for wrapping self made bread etc. so they have direct contact to food and then that's even more important than if you're just drying your plates with it, I think.

You are absolutely right about smog and condensation making sunsets better, My collage campus was right on a river and we had spectacular sunrises/sunsets every day! When I lived in Colorado for a summer the sunsets were garbage, the air was so thin and dry there was nothing for the light to reflect off of and make pretty colors (my Colorado friends did not want to hear the truth though).

My 88 y.o. MIL calls hot dogs sandwiches when you use bread. BUT if a bun is involved she just calls it a hot dog. I just learned this last week. And a Chicago Dog would never be called a sandwich (former Chi-towner here.). That would be like suggesting we put ketchup on our hotdogs. 😉

Okay, I must comment! Loved the content! :)
    - I so identify with size issues and Historical dress. I'm constantly rethinking what I want to do, because I want to wear stays/corsets for a proper look, but my severe apple shape, is just not good for squishing. Amy, I ADORE your Instagram page, and you, along with Rebecca from "Pocket Full of Posey's", are my hero's and encouragers!
    - Nando's is no big thing. It is many of my friends favourite restaurants, and my hubby and I think it is just overpriced chicken. Its nice... but expensive for plain ole chicken.
    - Ironing Tea Towels: We iron them too!! Its mainly because they do not fit in our drawer otherwise. So, we iron them so they lay flatter... but have to say in England, because so many people do not have tumble dryers (we do), I think ironing is to get the damp off the clothes that do not dry 100% (as it is a damp country in Winter).
    - Lavender is not old lady... its lovely. I have always been a rose girl (which can be old ladyish too..) but have grown to love lavender! Its one of my favs!
    - I would love to see those books of common prayer - such a cherish... oh BTW, just so you know, the king before Queen Victoria was King George IV. (who was the Regent Prince in charge when his father went crazy... i'm a HUGE fan of English history (Even though I'm an American).
Thank you for another highly entertaining video! Love these 20 question video's!!

American living in the UK here... I don't get the obsession with Nando's either. I used to live in London and have been to Nando's many times. My impression is that people like it because it's not gross (like most of the offerings open late at night), it doesn't cost a fortune, it has places to sit down, and it's become trendy. But it's nothing special imo. I think of it kind of like Denny's honestly lol The only times I've ever known people to go to Nando's is before, during, or after a night out drinking. Food always seems better when you're out drinking.

Not been to Nando's either - it's primarily an african spicy (peri peri) chicken place, and being (mostly) vegetarian, I won't be going. Yes, wagamama is mediocre (it does in a pinch when I'm hungry and in the mood for spicy noodles, but it certainly isn't the first (or7th) oriental food place on my list.
I agree with that magic power "cheer up love!. Give us a smile" I'd cheer whoever stopped that. And the veiled statue (veiled vestal virgin by Raffaelle Monti) - oh it's so beautiful.

Nandos is over-rated - it's the sort of place I'd have gone to as a teenager with friends but I wouldn't choose to go there as an adult.
Wagamama was much better 20/25 years ago when it was just Japanese food. When they started to diversify, they went jack-of-all-cuisines-master-of-none. I do still go because I have fond memories from childhood but it's definitely a bit lacklustre.
