Mad dog my brother you are genius. I don't have one of these cook kits but you gave me an idea for making what I need of the equipment we do have. We can buy aluminum baking sheets here for a dollar and one is big enough to make exactly what I need for all of the kits I want to make. Thank you brother.👍😊💖🇺🇸🇬🇧
You could get a part-time job as a panel beater. Great little project and it fits better than some of the lids i have seen (and bought). Thank you for the video, Andy
Nice idea! If I’m doing something that requires a better finish I usually just make a template and using engineers blue mark out a blank accurately with some calliper’s but fora bushcraft pot lid ish is good enough. Best wishes!!!!!
Use a washer as a drawing guide. First mark around the cup on the fabrication material, DON"T MOVE THE CUP when finished. Find the diameter needed washer, place down on the fabrication material, place it against the rim of the cup, place your marking device in the hole of the washer and follow the contour for the cup. When finished you have a perfectly spaced marking for bending.
Thank you! Yes I know that I could have used more skill full techniques but I wanted to show a quick down and dirty way for people who might not have the experience or tools to do it any other way. Just wanted to let you know that I’m a time served apprentice skilled man, so I understand and respect your comments 👍🏻👍🏻😎…. Very best wishes friend
@@MadDogSurvival I only mentioned it because I made a lid similarly to the way you did. THEN I watched a video using the washer method and said "Well Dang"! More even edges and less sanding. Still a great DIY video.
Awesome video, good job on the lid. Hope you and Mrs. Mad Dog had a wonderful Christmas. Have a Happy New Year. Thanks for sharing and take care, friend.
Outstanding brother 🇺🇸🇬🇧🏴 Thank you for sharing with us. I'm going to have to give that a try for my GI cup!!! That gel fuel tablet really burns great 🔥🔥🔥. Wishing you both a very happy New year my friend 🎊💥🎊
I went for the stainless steel heavy cover a few years back but heck is it heavy both in weight and price. I did not really consider the plastic one for the reason you showed, so that is a good DIY project for any one wanting to save loads of money and quite a bit of weight.
Good stuff Brother, it’s great to get some time to mod kit. Have a great New Year and all the best to you and the family for 2020 Crusader cook kit is still one of the best belt order carries. Was that a NBC gloves inner 🧐😂😂 what we like shoving kit in pouches hahaha Stay safe ATB Del 👍
Thanks again mate! Yep definitely a great kit ! The pouch is BCBs water bottle pouch, just about right for the cook kit! The glove is just a cotton inspection glove that I include to any kit which I can collect water into as it makes a great filter👍🏽Have a great new year brother! Best wishes to you and your family my mate 👍🏽👍🏽😎👌🏽
@@MadDogSurvival right side of the grass. Watch what you post on social media these days on that side of the pond. Don’t want thought police coming after you
Your one looks s lot neater than mine. I also burnt the stupid plastic lid and made a new lid out if aluminium using the same method as you.
Nice one mate! As long as it works it’s fine 👍🏻Yeah the plastic ones are crap. Even tin foil would be better. Best wishes mate 👍🏻👍🏻😎
Nice camp stove, small enough to fit in backpack but big enough to cook a meal.

When marking the cup outline , to give an easy and accurate margin , use a washer of appropriate size ... easy than freehand "nearly ish" marking !!!
