  • www.autobytel.com/chevrolet/cr... The 2016 model marks the fully revised 2nd generation that is notably more upscale on the inside. The Cruze comes in 5 different trim level ranging in price from $16,620 for the bas L model up to $23,120 for the Premier which is the model tested here. The Chevy Cruze competes in a very tough compact sedan class with the likes of the Honda Civic, Ford Focus, Hyundai Elantra, and the Mazda3 just to name a few.
    Under the hood is a turbocharged 1.4 liter 4-cylinder Ecotec produces 153 horsepower and 177 lb-ft. of torque. Fuel economy checks in at 30 MPG in the city and 40 MPG on the highway. The ride and handling are solid and the Cruze feels like a larger car. The 2016 Cruze marks Chevrolet’s strongest compact sedan to date.

    The real complaint with my 2017 lt rs is the cup holders and the headlights.

    at 3:29, I don't see why any driver can't move their seat up 1 lousy inch to make rear passenger more comfortable? That's why seats come with adjustable tracts. C'mon, really?

    Dan, you actually prefer the Civic CVT over this normal auto?? Oh, no! Say it ain't so. You gonna jump into the CVT hype?

      Have you driven the Civic Turbo with CVT? If so, what did you not like about it?

    • @pedrofernandez3893
      @pedrofernandez3893 8 років тому +1

      Red Cuffs
      NO, but the general consensus from people who actually enjoy driving is that they suck the life out of the driving experience, plus their reliability is a big question mark too.

      I haven't yet but hope to test drive it. You should too and let us know what you think. I long ago had a '98 Civic HX with the CVT. Got great mileage but was horrible in acceleration and loud. Honda has really done extensive research on perfecting the CVT.

    why would anyone pass up a Mazda3 for this car?

    • @mpgomatic
      @mpgomatic 8 років тому +5

      Lots of reasons. Completely different personalities, local availability, interior, pricing. Apple CarPlay is a big plus. That said, there's a Mazda3 living in my driveway … =)

      I did. I couldn't decide between the 2017 Mazda 3 or the 2017 Chevy Cruze. I finally chose the Cruze. Better incentives (I got $5k off the MSRP) Also better standard features. Back up camera, turbo engine, etc

      I did. I got a better car for a much better deal than either a Mazda or a Honda

    Just sat in one at the dealer. The sticker was 28K. I laughed at that. Why too much

      I got a 2017 premier w/ bose, sunroof, large touchscreen, etc for $18k here in Oklahoma. You must've been looking at a diesel model.

    • @EGGINFOOLS
      @EGGINFOOLS 7 років тому +1

      It wasn't diesel. This was back in September. I got an LT traverse for 33k. Couldn't imagine paying 28k for a cruze.

    • @NathanRyanAllen
      @NathanRyanAllen 7 років тому

      Yeah thats ridiculous. I had a 2011 cruze and upgraded because of the price. Got a premier for $18k, $278 a month. I wouldn't pay more than 21k for a Cruze.

  • @ironsaber2

    it would be stupid to compare this car to the civic turbo since the civic's engine is a higher tier option

    • @RizwanJaved26
      @RizwanJaved26 8 років тому +1

      Not at all. If they're the same price then GM screwed up by not offering anything for performance shoppers.

    • @ironsaber2
      @ironsaber2 8 років тому

      +Rizwan Javed any comparable civic is over 2 grand more expensive

    • @RizwanJaved26
      @RizwanJaved26 8 років тому +1

      ironsaber2 Are you sure? Because the cheapest automatic Cruze costs $19,995 where as the cheapest automatic Civic costs $19,440. So how exactly is the comparable Civic over 2 grand more expensive? It's actually cheaper.
      Another thing is that the Civic is way more reliable and has a much better resale value. Cruze is the type of car only GM family members with the discount would get. Civic is clearly the much smarter option. You can get it with upgraded engine that will smoke the Cruze, you can get it in coupe, and you can get it with features that aren't even available on the Cruze.
      Go read owners reviews on Edmunds on a 3 year old Civic and a 3 year old Cruze. The Cruze is nothing but money pit because of repairs. Maybe thats why it's resale value is so crappy.

    ugh, black interior so boring. best to get the Kalahari interior option

    • @Coupydog
      @Coupydog 7 років тому +3

      I agree about the Kalahari, except for it doesn't pair up with the Kinetic Blue, so I'd go with Cajun Red. The black in this car has nice bright accent trimming in right places; not boring. If you want2 see boring, look at the '16 or '17 Hyundai Tucson's black interior - even in Limited trim. That's where I moved off of to the Cruze (in hatch model).

    I hate this car, its given us more trouble than any other car i,ve ever owned. It started with the auto stop, then its got a mind of its on, the RPM,s sometimes goes way up and gets stuck on3 without a gear change. During the summer if you have the AIR CONDITIONER on when you are at a stop warm air blows out, the only way its cold is if you are moving. The worst is when you,re at a stop- red light, the car will just die, and im not talking about the auto stop, it has to be restarted in park or neutral. Our warrenty is out, we still owe on it and before the warrenty was up, my dad and I had this car at the dealership at least 5-6 different times for if not 1 of these problems but all and they would fix it , quick fix and before you know it our warrenty is up......and then our dog died.... my dad is a 100% disability veteran and all of this is just a lot, im sorry im just pissed....he does,nt deserve this..
