I bought a '17 Cruze about 2 months ago. I already have 6500 miles on it. Great car! If I drive the speed limit, I can hit 40 mpg on the highway. Very comfortable ride. Quiet too!

Sorry. Traded it in on a 2020 Outback. Good little car. I put 60,000 miles on it in a little over 2 years. No issues at all mechanically. Outstanding gas mileage too.

Nice, I like it better than the old one. I've come close a couple times to buying the old model, but I'm a bigger guy, with the seating position I need, I hit my lower back/butt every time I get into an older model cruze. I hope they fixed/changed that.

Just test drove a 2017 LT convenience package and noticed that LS and LT (base) models have "Instantaneous fuel economy", but the models with bigger display (4") do not. I found it weird as they are suppose to add features on "top" models, not remove them.

Hi to the us Chevy Cruze owners, i have noticed the side orange light on the far side of the front headlight, does it light up in orange colour as well, I’m not talking about the projector headlight or the led running light, I’m talking about the little orange side light not the turning light either. See 2:35, when he press the remote button, the orange light light up, what is this called and is this mandatory on cars in the us? Cos the cars sold in Australia does not have this light.

    • @scorpionic3599

Marc Kamo I think it’s just an alert when other cars come near your’s. But no, it’s not mandatory to have them in the U.S.

Buying Brand New Chevy Cruze Makes me Sad
Dear car customers around the world:
I bought a brand new Chevy Cruze, manual transmission, on December 10, 2016. One day after (December 11, 2016), while the car was parked at the curb, it rolled down the road hitting another car on its way down. I am sure that I had engaged the parking brake, indicated by the “!” symbol displayed in red on the instrument panel.
I’ve been raising to General Motors Corporation (GMC) this question - why is it that the said Cruze, in neutral transmission, rolled down the slope even though the parking brake symbol, “!” (in red color), is displayed on the car’s instrument panel?
The GMC explained that: “by design intent, the parking brake warning lamp on the instrument panel (!) will illuminate with the brake lever is raised to the first detent position (first audible click). However, this warning is not an indicator that the parking brake has been fully engaged. Specifically, the Chevrolet Cruze Owner’s Manual Instructs the owner to pull firmly (on the lever) without pressing the release button, in order to engaged the parking brake correctly. The primary purpose of illuminating the park brake warning lamp, even when the parking brake is not fully engaged, is to prevent the operator from driving the vehicle with parking brakes partially engaged.” (letter sent to me by GMC dated April 11, 2017).
I disagree with the above explanation by GMC. I maintain that a technical deficiency persists between the engagement of parking brakes with respect to the warning light (!). The Cruze Owner’s Manual does not state anything related to partially-engaged and fully-engaged parking brakes with same warning light (!) displayed on the instrument panel.
I am submitting GMC’s explanation, as quoted above, for your views and comments. Thank you and drive safely.

    • @MikesCarInfo
      @MikesCarInfo  7 років тому +4

Things everyone must do when parking a manual transmission especially on a hill...
      1. Turn wheel towards the curb
      2. Place the shifter in a gear (not neutral)
      3. Firmly engage parking brake... in this case push it ALL the way to the floor.
Everyone who has a driver license is taught this.
GM is correct to say that the warning light is not an indicator that the parking brake is adequately engaged... just as pushing the brake to the point that the rear brake light is lit is not an indicator that you will be able to stop in time to avoid an accident.
Even if the parking brake was faulty in some way it is still the drivers responsibility to do the other steps. Take responsibility and just be glad no one got hurt.
