Hello, what are the recommended values on the cut in scale and the white wheel? My steem boiler would not start automatically but will stop automatically when the desired temperature is reached.
The value on the cut-in scale should be set to 0.5 psi (the lowest possible setting), and the white wheel ("DIFF") should be set to the number "1" , also the lowest possible setting. This *should* run your steam pressures in your system between 0.5 psi and 1.5 psi. Should, but not always. I would also check out other videos on the ytube on the Presssuretrol (some of them mine). I would also check to see if your "pigtail" or steam syphon is clogged. A clogged pigtail would be one cause erratic operation.
I have the same pressuretroll but I guess mine must be 25 years old. It has an Allen set screw where yours has that “blue shmoo” for adjustment, so I’ve been fiddling with that but I’m not sure how to get it right.
No blue shmoo, just the Allen screw on mine. I didn’t check the pigtail because the pressure gauge works so I assume steam is going through the pigtail ok. I set the cut-n adjusting screw to lowest setting, diff wheel to 1 and no clicks do inlossened the Allen set screw to get a “ click” but I could see the that the bottom of the set screw was no longer touching the rod that goes through the bottom of the device and gets pushed up by the steam pressure.
I'm not sure what advice I can give you now as to that screw, as I've only tried to adjust that set screw once or twice, and that was over twenty years ago. At this point, you might have to get a new control.
Thank you for explaining this in a simple way that is understandable. This fixed it!!
You're most welcome! That's why I make these videos.
Please consider sending me a "Super Thanks" if you can.
Super helpful. 👍
Glad it was helpful!

@@gordonschweizer5154 Thank you very much for the quick response.

The "blue shmoo" covers a tiny tiny (3/32" ?) allen head screw.
Have you checked to make sure your pigtail is clear?
