Yup, I've spent the last two weeks working with my company's boiler guru doing seasonal's on all sorts of systems. Munchkins were fun, the oil fired Kewaunee-Ross installed in 1956 was a blast.
And thanks in part to your vids I've had a reasonable idea of what I was looking at and what I needed to be doing before my trainer told me. Since he is the sort that doesn't suffer fools gladly and generally doesn't like training things have gone very well. So thanks for that.

Hello, I have the same McDonnell & Miller float style low water cut off. Mine is not draining well. Probably same issue...mud & clogged. I see that you removed the whole unit. I was wondering if it is possible to remove just the lower section (taking the bolts off around the middle) & removing the bottom to clean the unit. Please let me know. Thank you!

Love the edit! Auto fill seems to be seeping after low water cutoff is achieved. Would this tuneup/cleanout help the float/diaphram seal better? Should i buy the diaphram assembly kit while im up in there? TIA!

Did you also clean or replace the screen that’s in the feeder part at the bottom?
