    Thanks for the review. Quick tips though: think you're still pitching it not quite right. I have a Zpacks Altaplex (the design this tent was copied from) and the way to get the most consistently good pitch is: 1) stake out the back three stakes (the three on the long side opposite the door), 2) put up the pole and stake it out, 3) once you feel you have the pole adjusted for height and tensioned correctly, stake out the front two stakes. You can do it the way you're doing it in this video (staking out all four corners, then putting up the pole), but in practice in the field, it's hard to always get the alignment of the four corners perfect without the pole standing, and usually takes a deal of adjustment, which is just wasted time. The steps I outlined also are your best bet for pitching it at the right height, which as you say in the video is the key to the tent being as comfortable as possible. Also, one more thing: looks like you're putting in your stakes at an angle. Intuitively, this seems like it must make most sense. But you'll actually get best holding in most surfaces by pounding your stake in straight down into the ground. It's about getting the stake deeper into the dirt. Deeper = better holding = less likely to fail. Angling them like you did in the video, you lose about 25% of holding power (Google it if you don't believe me!) Happy trails!

    Most customers choose khaki, especially used in grassland, especially good hidden color.☺☺☺

    Definitely the best ultralight budget tent out there. Love mine, although I prefer to use it as a fairweather/summer shelter. I know it's capable of more, but for colder, windier weather and longer nights I prefer a more comfortable, sturdier and larger double-skin tent (Scarp 1 at present), despite the weight penalty.

    I have had this tent for one year now. Woulld say it's best budget 1person UL tent. Certainly there is better tents out there, but if u r on budget this one is unbeatable due to low price. keep in mind that this tent is desighed for ultralight backpackers, u must sacrifice some comfort to lower the gear weight. I'm ultralight backpacker, this tent helps me hike longer, faster and further, i love it. If u r more camper than a hiker and want some comforts at campp, it may not be right one for u. BTW, I'm a Chinese Canadian and purchased this tent from 3F UL directly last year, cost about 140 CAD. I noticed price has gone up recently

      Yeah for sure there is a bit of sacrifice that needs to be made for comfort! Part of the trade

    I come real close to getting a green tent, went with the brown one.
    Thanks for making this video..

    Thanks for the advice...I have one on order for my thru hike in May. Being used to a MSR hubba hubba its going to be very different in a smaller space.
    I chose this tent for one reason...weight.
    I looked at big money ultralights but didn't want to spend too much as ihave a good tent already. I decided to buy the lanshan. My body will thank me after a long days hike as my pack weight is lower than before.
    Happy hiking ......

    Greetings from England. Good review mate. I've got this tent and for the price is great value. At my age ultralight is a necessity rather than choice so it's suits me. Condensation can be an issue but minimise this with a high pitch and l set the trekking pole at 130cm rather than the 125cm some recommend. I'll be honest l'm a fairweather camper so l sleep with the inner snd the fly partially unzipped to improve airflow. Happy camping mate.

    I'm looking at ordering the Lanshan 1 which has separate inner and outer tents; I like the idea of just pitching the fly for breaks in inclement weather and also packing or unpacking under the fly. But my question is: how much will I spend on duty when the product is delivered. Buying the Lanshan 1 through 3FUL is $101 USD (astonishingly good price) plus 21 USD shipping. Presumably the duty is on the 101 only? I tried an online duty calculator and with PSD and GST it's coming out to about 80 bucks plus the shipping so I presume I'll get the tent in CND for just over 200 bucks. Does this match your purchasing experience? Were you dinged with more or less duty and tax fees? Cheers.

    • @waysofseeing1
      @waysofseeing1 2 роки тому +1

      I’m not 💯 percent sure on that to be honest. They sent it to me for free but I did pay 27$ of duties for it in Canada. I only know of people who purchased it from Ali express as well.
