Fancy a nice nekkid watchmaker T-shirt?

My father was a watchmaker. I would watch him work, taking apart watches, his loup on his glasses. He'd fit all the parts into the baskets and clean them in the ultrasound. Then came putting them back together. I love the smell of watch oil. He's been gone 16 years now, long since retired in the 80's. I miss him. I took as much of his equipment as I could. I use them to make jewelry.
OMG
WOW
May his memory be a blessing.
@@Panzer-Geomancer It is, thank you!
@@2degucitas You're welcome :)
I never thought in a million years, I’d find watching someone disassemble, clean, repair and re-assemble a watch, so entertaining and relaxing! The Nekkid Watchmaker is the perfect antidote to today’s hectic lifestyle. Long may he reign as the King of Watchmaking on UA-cam. 😎
Thanks Patrick
Joe you have great filming and editing. Thank you for all your humor and kind words. Love from America
Someone spent a lot of his hard earned money back in the 40’s… maybe even for a gift. That person would surely have been proud seeing this one still working and looking like this.
Does anyone else hold their breath when watching the hairspring reassembly????
Im still trying to find mine that went kart wheeling past my ear years ago
He's a hotshot at this, to be sure.
It’s my Achilles heal of reassembly.
Yes. And waiting for it to come to life.
It’s fun to watch that go in. The watch just comes alive when that happens
The only restoration channel I have unmuted......
but the best part is hearing all the satisfying filing noises and hum of electronics. i particularly like mymechanics, he edits them very well
I understand what you mean, those videos with annoying music........
21.55 when that watch just gets it’s heart restarted brings a smile to the face, makes me feel like a kid watching a magic trick. 🤷🏻♂️👍🏻🏴
You truely are a miricle worker. I love the fact that you don't settle for nothing but the best option.
One man's garbage is another man's treasure and you sir are a magician! Greetings from Belgium.
Thanks Maarten
Watching your videos is like a 25-minute-holiday.
You are a Craftsman at what you can do with a watch you’re work is second to none amazing ❤
In between global economic meltdown and the slowest plague in history, you are a shining beacon of calm and relaxation
My next 25min are gonna be awesome.
Thanks Nekkid, evening made.
Hope so mate. Thanks

A wonderful job. Do you ever state what a restoration like this would cost? This very time intensive and requires great skill and specialized tools.
@@NekkidWatchmaker thanks for opening my eyes to the amazing world of watch resoration please please send me your email address as I have so many questions
It's 4 am here in Australia and I was about to go to bed when your video appeared. I had to watch it of course. It's always a pleasure to see the love you put into your work, you're a true master. Many thanks!
Thanks Graeme, sorry for ruining your sleep mate
You are the Bob Ross of restorations. Thank you for your videos.
Perfect description!
Beautiful. Thank you. Now, do you think you could do a video where you show us how you're able to be so warm-hearted, gentle, kind, generous, so utterly calm and patient, respectful, courteous and polite, exacting, dedicated, disciplined, fun and funny, and, apparently, a wonderfully loving father...in a world that sometimes wears us down and grinds these virtues out of us...?
When I hear you speak so quietly and confidently, without a milligram of malice for anybody or anything (other than a rudely treated watch, and even then with merely a tone of mild disappointment), I hear the echoes of the love you came from, the love that surrounds you here and now, and the love that seeps out of you as naturally as water from a spring. There is a purity and a wisdom to that. The world needs more of it. Thank you.
Hooray, you’re back with a new episode!
Can't miss an episode anymore!
All the subtle jokes, all the knowledge, and your kids!
I'm starting to learn about watchmaking, as i love watches and want to work on them!
Glad to see someone learning. Thanks mate
Hi my clever friend, love watching you do your awesome work, plus the giggles you give me so thanks for the smiles.
Don't be mad or disappointed, you did the right thing. I know it's time consuming but you just up the value of the watch for the time you invested
Splendid! Work, craftsmanship, humor and commentary! Thank you!
An artist will always pick apart the small details but when you look at the whole thing from new eyes it is always a work of art! Great job👍🏼
You are absolutely amazing. It’s such an honour to be able to see you at work.
Thank you 🙏
You're an excellent watch Craftsman
You gave that old wrist watch a new life 👍♥️
You and your family and work is appreciated more than you know. Please don't stay away so long.
Thanks mate
The number one restoration channel, the watches, the humour and personality.
Certainly revived the old girl - if not to her debutante-level beauty - well done! Great job on the case and glass!👏🏻👍🏻
Thanks mate
You are an artist. I’m watching your videos for my physical health
Thank you hope all gets better with your health
@@NekkidWatchmaker thx. I don’t have real physical problems 😂, just relax after arguing with my wife.

A few years ago you could buy these movements along with the dial and hands on Ebay for around £50 as people ripped them out of the gold cases and sold the gold for scrap value. It broke my heart and I bought several of them and put them back into cheaper, non Dennison, cases for my own use. You call them simple movements but in fact they are really beautifully made and keep fantastic time for something made in the 1950s. Fantastic video.
Hey man, you had been gone a while :-) Hope you, the accountant, and the little assistants are all healthy and well. Thank you for documenting another beautiful work of yours for us. All the best.
Always a pleasure to watch the Nekkid Watchmaker at his work
Thanks Joseph
Missed you. Could watch this guy at work for hours.
Thanks Simon
Cant wait. These videos cant come soon enough.
Love your videos
I just can't stop watching this channel.
The placing of those screws, in those infinitesimally small holes, amazes me, always.
Stay safe,
Stu xx
Thanks stu, you too mate
Thank for sharing those moments of interaction with your little one. His little voice and laughter is a Blessing to me. Its been years since I've had that in my life. Thank you.
Thank you 🙏
So therapeutic, I watch these all day,,bravo my friend
I like the washed dial, a few marks show it has been through some stuff, but so have we all.
and every mark has its story.
Incredible to see this art in process. How he remembered where everything went back together is beyond my capability. Cool video Thks
yours is by far the best watch makers channel on u tube, period.
This is the first video I watched of yours, you’re a genius, a JEDI. Keep coming back to this even after the Cartier and Longines. THIS IS THE BEST.
Thanks mate
Welcome back brother. Nice to hear the little helper, I love the electroplating element.
Thanks athar glad you like it mate
Watchmakers must be brilliant. The details remind me of steam engines - cogs on cogs, every feature layered and squeezed into cramped spaces, yet somehow operates smoothly when it's all said and done.
It is so satisfying to see those little gears start moving and to see the watch become beautiful again.
After your restoration of this Tudor wrist watch I would gladly wear it on my wrist. Beautiful work
Thanks John
We should all give thanks to N W for sharing his mastery with these mechanical gems and for the ever optimistic spirit he leaves us with.
Always appreciated ... DT
You haven't breathed youth into the watch, but you have breathed life into it!! Great job.
Thanks jon
Another excellent example of how much talent you have and a really nice little vintage watch
Glad you like Paul, thanks
Just love your work,I know nothing about watches but cant stop watching you work on them, have only ever wanted a Rolex but time is running out lol
It was such a treat watching you strip the watch, clean it, and put them back together, I loved watching you bring back life to the crystal. keep up the good work
Sir, you are a dying breed and worth your weight in gold. The time you take and precision is mind boggling. I know it’s a labour of love for you. Thank you.
Have just rewatched this one and was struck how fab the close camera work was👍
As always, nice work…. I actually heard it say hello when it first started like being awakened form a long long sleep. Anyone would love to wear this watch….
Your videos are absolutely fantastic! It's a joy to see a craftsman at work, and I find your videos a joy to watch and very relaxing. It's nice to see someone take the time to do a great job and take such pride in their work. The commentary is both entertaining and educational and adds so much. Well done! The more you post, the more I watch! Keep them coming please... Fantastic!!
Thanks mate glad to hear it
There is nothing more inspiring than an old technique that works well after many decades.
Thoroughly enjoyed this video, excellent camera work, and so good to hear an appearance of the young apprentice
Very beautiful restoration. Very lucky person who will own this one. The model is quite stylish
Your videos give me a sense of peace and a new perspective on life. Thank you!
Wow, wonderful transformation. Such a pleasure to see these watches brought to life again. I trust someone will wear it with pride and appreciation for many more years.
Thanks mate
Wow. It’s a real pleasure watching an expert at his trade. Quite remarkable.
I love your workmanship I have been doing an Average job for 25 years.. I took it up because I lost my job through health failure and many ops.. I can see that oils aren't oils .. so will have to restock. Thankyou dear friend ,my accountant says I will have to buy the oil myself, and no I can't use her glowing fingers nail polish... it's so sad you know...
A really good restoration of the dial amd the glass (and of the case as well). I am always more happy to see that the original dial was not replaced. Usually even some greater wear on the vintage dial is tolerated by the watch collectors. It shows that a watch has its own story to tell.
Another high quality restoration. That, is one gorgeous watch.
I like your videos very much. Your results never destroy the vintage style. Some youtubers make a "new watch" - you save the charisma.
I wish, I could wear such a watch. But I content myself with watching you videos. Such watches would be a waste for me.
Thank you for your videos!
Thanks mate
Billion dollars precision! So satisfying to watch! So mesmerizing 😳
Absolutely amazing work you do restoring old watches that most of us would consider to be junk.
After this restoration the watch looked like it was just made this year amazing.
Thank you John glad you think so
This is gonna be another fun and interesting episode.
That turned out excellent and the new strap looks much more appropriate for the case
I do love the sound of your little helper "trouble"
Thanks bob
What a great and sympathetic restoration. I learn so much watching this channel. Everything you make is clear and understandable and so wholesome and enjoyable too! Superb.
I'm really enjoying spending my afternoon catching up on episodes I have missed. this was a gem! Thank you!
Thanks Michael
Another great job by an amazing tradesman. Good to hear Mr Troubles is on hand to assist. God bless
Polishing glass/crystal is NOT for the faint of heart. Great work!
Best 25 mins I’ve had today thank you 👍
Thanks mate
You are such a skilled artist with a pleasant delivery, funny quips, and a most charming helper!! Thanks!
Thanks Susan. Glad to hear your thoughts
Another good video by a dedicated craftsman, who enjoys what he does

Thanks John
Beauty of an artistic restoration with precision requires a lot of talent Brother & you are the chosen one!!!
There's something almost infinitely satisfying about bringing a little beauty back from the dead.
Thank's for doing these for us Nekkid .... I somehow feel restored myself after seeing you perform your magic and bringing back life to the watches.
Amazing what a careful cleaning of the dial surface can bring the watch back to it's glory.
Thanks John
Brilliant as always. I was having a terrible headache and a stoved up neck. I laid back, watched and listened. In the short time of this project, I felt better. I often wish your videos were longer. I do completely understand the delegation of time. Thanks much.
Thanks Aaron, drink lots of H2O for your headache
진정한고수네!!찬사를보냅니다!!!
It's so heartening to see you bring a watch back to life. Thank you!
Just bought an early Tudor with Cal.59, this video is going to be my general guide for restoring it thanks!
thank you to listen and lookin over your shoulder ( 80 years old dutchman living in Portugal)
Thank you 🙏
21:55 "it's alive, It's alive!" I think Dr. Frankenstein must be watchmaker back then. :-)
“... which needs a bit of help.”
A BIT OF HELP?! I won’t even touch that even with gloves on 😂
Kidding aside, you’ve made a fantastic work! Not overdone. You just turned it from a forgotten vintage into a vintage that was well taken cared of without removing the feel of it.
I've never seen an 'ordinary' mechanical watch. To me, a mechanical watch; for most, are time pieces that with proper service and adjustment can last a lifetime or two, maybe three for a watch wearer. It is the watch wearer, however, that determines if that watch is worth the time to service. If not, it goes into a drawer, where hopefully someone else finds it later and loves it more. Perhaps time is what it takes to bring life back to an old watch; with a bit of TLC, it once again has a new life, and perhaps a new owner that will love it even more today than before.
I can honestly say I am completely and undershambly hooked. Don't underestimate that bit of 'OCD' in all of us that needs to be satisfied firstly by your craft restoration skills and secondly by your witty commentary.
Suddenly lockdown has become that little more bearable.
Thanks mate
What a sublime restoration. This channel is an absolute gift. I like the watch the most on a patterned strep. Blessings to you as well sir.
Yay! Always good to see your vids come up. 🙂

“Speechless” would be my best comment. Thank you. 🙏
Wow.. This truly is an art form. You are a true artist.
