- Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Drumming is hard. Maybe I'll make the switch to saxophone. Or maybe I'll stay on drums. Or maybe I'll quit music all together and become a chef. Thank you for the amazing support guys (and 3.9% girls). I will hopefully continue to get better at making/editing these so I can finally impress my mom. Thank you! LessThanThree (because angled brackets aren't allowed in UA-cam descriptions)
As always, if you have ANY QUESTIONS (music or non-music-related) my DMs are always open on Instagram @ZackGrooves
SONGS USED:
tennyson - l'oiseau qui danse
Louis Armstrong - When The Saints Go Marching In
I DO NOT OWN THE RIGHTS
finally hearing a ripped musician making gym analogies. This is how is should be
Finally seeing another ripped musician period😂
Xavier_tulo Chris Turner is pretty ripped aswell, prog metal guy
Will Drums also Clarence Hill, people were calling him John Swoltrane on his video of him playing Giant Steps in 13/8 lmao
@@koifish528 Ever seen Troy Wright? Does UA-cam drum covers, is also jacked as hell
@@will66kg91 chris turner is absolutely goated. and combined with the way he plays its like he's a robot
What if The Rock had a son with a palm tree?
.....I can see that.
Underrated comment
Omg.. I love this 😂😂

LOLOLOL TRUE
2:40 Transparency, Honesty and Consistency !.......... that spells THC
Tetrahydrocannabinol
@@darkskingaming07 pretty sure it's "tetrahydrocannabidiol", might be wrong though
This might sound weird, but I hope you don't up the recording quality of your drums too much after you blow up...they sound GREAT, very human and not overly compressed and digital like so many UA-cam drummers
I completely agree with this
I think the only improvement I would make is to pan the cymbals and even toms slightly to give the drumset a little bit of a stereo image without doing all the other processing that a lot of other people do. Take what you have and make it stereo, and then I'm 100% on board.
Ain't nothin weird about it man. Was thinking the exact same thing
u read minds or smthng? lol saem thoughts
Couldn’t agree more
oh no now I have been introduced to a song that will be stuck in my head for the next 2 weeks after listening to it on repeat
and youre saying thats a bad thing
Oof... I'm there now (again)
I've recently been binge watching Attack on Titan, and just finished season 3. I got hooked on "APETITAN". It's such an amazing track.
omg that fill at 3:45 is unreal...!
100% agree
3:43 how I think I play
0:33 what am actually doing
If that’s how you play, then you’re tight asf my dude.
Still goated
I’ve actually seen them play, and while she does have mixed kit for the sake of flexibility of sounds, she drums everything for real. It’s quite incredible to watch. That EP especially is extremely tight. Check out more of their stuff for some interesting drum phrasing and rhythm, it’s everywhere
EDIT: mixed kit means a few electronic cymbals, real snare, toms, and an 808 of course to fill in the rest. I’m surprised there isn’t much video of them, even on their social media they have shown a few different sections on drums over the years
I love this band, especialy the EP "Like what" that you talk about, it is certainly their notable work.
But their entire discography is an example to follow in terms of musicality, complexity and everything in fact.
In addition they have sounds recognizable among a thousand. Luke is a god to me. Without forgetting his sister of course.
Someone call Davie504 and tell him Zack said drums are sexier than bass.
World War 4
Oh Em Gee
Don't upset Davie. He already knows the truth and is crying in his room.
For a solo, much rather drums than bass. If the goal of music is to create emotion, drums can do it so much more than a sole, barely audible bass can do.
-Sincerely, a bassist
Call Davie and tell him *facts!*
Thanks for cheering me up dude. I gotta go practice now
Tate Sherman make sure to practice for 40 hours
IreadysuckS I assume you watch twoset.
This just popped up in my recommended and I'm really glad that it did. Love your content man! Can't wait for more.
3:17, that was one of the best youtube drummer drum solos i have ever seen
Yes, this song is hard!! I really wanted to learn it a while back, but I made it through the first 16 bars before I gave up. I’ll come back to it one day. Haha I also looked for live performances to see how they’d handle it, but couldn’t find anything. Like you said, I’m not sure it was meant for real drums. 😅 Anyway, I’m glad you decided to tackle it because your take sounded great and it’s fun to hear it on real drums!!
"if you don't have it, you should grow up"
Me: *downloading right now
Me: *saw it costs 12.95€* hell no
Me rapidly growing old:
“If you don’t have it, you should grow up.”
As a bass player, even while someone talked and played over the bass part, this video made my day lol
Tess’s drumming is insane! Love ya! Crazy to hear Luke and Tess on a video like this.
Yeah !! Does Tess program the drums or does she only play live? Is Luke alone to compose ?
@@Womio Luke will usually program the drums in Ableton and then Tess will play them live. Luke usually composes/produces alone.
@@MrNinjaRope im so happy i saw this. my fav youtube drummer and one of my favorite artists, i was wondering how long before he started getting bigger recognition.
this is so sick. very glad you decided to upload it in the end, definitely my favorite drum cover of this song to date
You're an unbelievably good and well trained drummer, bro! Love your thought process, approaches, articulation, vocabulary, chops, feel, and philosophies. Serious respect! Happy drumming, bro!
As a bass homie who plays a little drums, they were just meant to go together like salt and pepper or tom and jerry. Still respect even tho you talked over the bass solo lmao
I’m glad I found this channel. You are so hilarious and the editing makes it even funnier!! Your an amazing drummer too, love it dude
I like your style bro. Keep doing cool stuff like this
We need more cover from you😍 really love your style! And your sound is amazing too
Insane playing as usual, so clean! Love the sticks drop 😂
Love the way you lay your videos out dude. Keep up the great work.
Clumsy on the up beat; showboat on the down. Zack's formula.
I'm so glad someone made a video on tennyson. Their tunes are so cool and unique in my opinion.
Your videos are always better and better. This channel deserves 10× its subscribers!!
Dude you’re hilarious man. Keep up the great work and the great drumming
Dude that was freaking awesome!, 👍🏾
Great videos. I always enjoy. Thank you
Glad I found your channel recently man! You deserve all the subs!
Mean Brotha! Man you got some wicked skillz there Bro and those beatz are just 💯killer 🔥🔥🔥
Hey Zack could you teach us how to tune a jazz drum kit
Just tune the drums slightly higher.
@@landonpeckham7752 you mean, A LOT higher
@@chronicironic1358 Art Blakey higher!!
Yea!
You deserve a million followers my man. This is my favorite drum UA-cam channel ever!!
That was hella tight great job!
Awesome talent!! 💖
Man... you are so funny and pretty good drummer... I used to play jazz at my 20s, but now I've lost 75% of my skills, but still watching your videos making me laugh! Keep on it!
You absolutely killed that, amazing playing. And hilarious editing, "69%. HAH!" 😂
good take on this track. i had the pleasure of seeing tennyson live a few years ago, extremely clean and talented duo. tess (the drummer) is crazy good and imo pretty slept on. she was using an electric kit so that the samples on the pads could be automated as the song moved along or something, a lot of DAW insanity for sure. but she played the parts flawlessly. her most recent drumming vid on instagram has her on an acoustic kit it looks like
did not expect you to be covering this song hahaha. dope vid man
This was a great cover man, don't be so hard on yourself. Fantastic job!
Keep it up man, you are good people.
Wow, now I totally get how you do those awesome licks...I understand all the synchronicity. Now all I have to do is to be able to actually play that.
Hey bro. Dig your style and the sound of your kit and cymbals...very cool.
Love your vids bro
dude I love your kit
Fire Playing !!!!!! You did a great job
LOVE the Tennyson shout out. That duo is absolutely insane.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video.
Super cool. Excellent!
There seems to be an amazing amount of talent here mixed with awesome intelligence. It's very entertaining!
Love your snare sound man.
Holy shit your good. As a drummer my self, hearing that song fucks with my brain. It sounds like Latin drumming, African drumming, and some South American drumming mixed had a baby with basically futuristic electronic music. I don’t really know a better way to describe it. Also check out the album sounds from Wednesday evening. It’s really good.
I think that your skills and your humour truly deserve more acknowledgement from (?) the general public (I don't know if I expressed it right)
This channel is sick and wowie you're good at drums
Yes! I love Tennyson and this was a SICK cover! I'm a trumpet player I'd love to jam with you some day
Could you make a cover of caravan from whiplash mr. Thicksologic? Loving the consistency!
T H I C C
No because any good drummer knows whiplash is a crap film and the actor was crap
Tom Roberts okay but the music has nothing to do with the film or the actor. Dislike the movie and the actor, but there’s no doubt that Caravan and Whiplash are good pieces of music
@@killemall69 ok boomer
@@killemall69 movie aside, Caravan is still Caravan, dude. Even if it were composed especially for the movie's film score, which it wasnt, but if it were, would people think Caravan is a crap piece of music by association alone? I'm being slightly rhetorical, but think about it.
Hey you know that thing you say, "you should grow up"?
It's freaking awesome. I'm going to use that line from now on. Look out world.
Tennyson is dope! Glad to see this
I've looking so long for a app like this thank you
You did a fantastic job with that track
Incredible!!
brilliant playing.
yea! this song is sick! i had this on my playlist for a while and im glad to see someone play to it!
This video is so good! Entertaining, funny, I learned something, got a useful app, and don't forget the CHOPS!
Damn dude. Been following Tennyson for some time and they always have crazy drums but seeing this played is unreal. Wish I could program drums like you played. Good stuff.
WildKat I do music production. Played drums when I was a teen, but that’s been awhile. Program drums basically is used the software and hardware tools to place the drums down in a song. So ya know kick on the 1, snare on the 3 and what not. Think like trap music for example. All the beat and what not is from drums that are programmed in rather someone literally playing a drum kit and recording it.
I like how real and nature you're in your videos, we need more people like you on youtube. Or more youtube in people like you?
Broo, my man's killing it, and with the slides on too!!
Are you crazy bro?? Insane🤯
Tennyson is amazing. IIRC they have a background in jazz, its a brother sister duo, the brother producing and playing keys, while the sister drums. check out other live sets of theirs, I couldnt find one for this song. They perform so much of it live its incredible.
Love love love this video
This is incredible
For some reason I thought I was already subscribed but was wrong. I corrected that just now. You deserve more subscribers.
Bruyh wats on your bass beater head, like a white tennis ball? Nah that's cool. Loved the cover very good work, and very good tips on learning hard things
This man is soo funny lmao new sub
I'd say you nailed it.
Well done Bro Bro.
Dammit bro your sick player , drop respect bro , your a true player
Zack that was zick 👍🏾...sick
Dude, too many fire jokes. I mean, I can't take it. I subscribed, you got me.
You should do a cover of The Saints Come Marching In. That sounded really great the way you played it
You inspire me, thank you. Ever do any Zappa? Tackling that black page would be fun and a piece of cake for you! (Please don't punch me)
Not gone hold you… That 2 & 4 felt good 😂
Song is beast!
I think you're my new favorite drummer youtuber
Bro I'm so fucking glad I get to see your rise into youtube glory
Those hats sound Thicc, also sick stack work
I Loved it
As a drummer myself I identify with you in so many ways. Only resorting to 2-4 in case of emergencies, look at a live video of the song to learn it and that the (1:11) *music room is always fucking hot*
With you releasing a video on snare tuning, can you do bass drum tuning next? because I love the sound of your kick
looks like you have a lot of david cola influences right? AND I FCKING LOVE IT
What a beast.
Hey! I'm going to be playing set for my HS's marching band next year, and I was wondering if you would be able to make a video on some of your favorite/spiciest fills or grooves so I won't get yelled at during warm ups for playing the same things over and over again. Thanks!
Just chop
And play random jazz bars
i love your fills
The ending lmao 😂 nice job bro
he said he's not happy with the arrangement but that sounded spot ON!
HAHAHAHA, I fuckin love tennyson and I've tried to play this before, gave me a good chuckle when you brought up this song.
I'd love it if you made a vid covering some of Louis Cole's stuff :O
I loooooove Tennyson
10/10 son, nicely done
