The bench and stands look not only good but safe. Love to see family members come together and work on projects, thanks for posting, enjoy your workouts.
Great work! Great fitness support. Coherence is higher with a support system. Make a pull-up bar and a pulley system! Must haves for a home gym! Super inexpensive as well. 🙌🏼
I would suggest a slight taper/angle cut toward your bar rack so that if you accidentally drop the bar on the flat 2x4, instead it will roll into the gap where the bar rests.
Wow, you have a great video to have such few subs. Keep going and you'll probably have a nice amount of subs and a great community. I love your effort and hard work to make this video.
Lucy this is an AWESOME VIDEO!!! Here is South Africa there isn't anywhere open where I can buy wood at the moment but thank you for this idea, i'll definitely give it a try :) looking forward to what content you have coming up. SUBBED!!!
The foam is from Home Depot and it’s called the 2 in. thick multi-purpose foam. It’s pretty soft but also holds its shape pretty well. We got the vinyl from Joann fabrics, but I believe you can find it at most craft stores or even amazon or eBay! Hope this helps!
Lucy Cao thank you! I’m making benches and got my vinyl from Joann but was wondering if there was someone else I could pick it up from. Thanks for your help
so if you plan on competing, you want the bench to be the same as a competition bench. That would be: Length: 1.22m or 48” Width: 29-32cm or 11.5”-12.5” Height: 42-45cm or 16.5”-17.5” I made this bench a little bit shorter because I don't need the end of the bench, and to have it store easier.
I personally have not tested (because I’m not that strong) how much weight it can hold, but I’ve seen weaker and more flimsy designs of both the rack and bench hold over 500 lbs. Both the rack and the bench has not shown any sign of breakage when lifting heavy.
After 24 hours, the top of the concrete should be dry to touch, and you can start using it lightly. The inside took a while to cure because it’s in the bucket, and I think it took about a week to dry 100%. But I would say about 3 days is more than enough because it’s not gonna move even if it’s half dried
We just used the most basic type from Home Depot. I believe it’s the “Prime Whitewood Stud”. But, if you are using it outdoors, you would want to use treated wood. Hope this helps!
That sucks. I got mine from a fitness supply store that I found on Facebook marketplace. They were about 1.7 times the weight, and they were new. I heard you can find good deals in gyms that are closing.

That’s a really good idea! There was once where the bar ended up on that flat 2x4 and it gave me a heart attack lol
Loved the video!
Thank you!

thanks!
Awesome! What kind of foam did you use and where did you get the vinyl?
The foam is from Home Depot and it’s called the 2 in. thick multi-purpose foam. It’s pretty soft but also holds its shape pretty well. We got the vinyl from Joann fabrics, but I believe you can find it at most craft stores or even amazon or eBay! Hope this helps!

I would bolt them together. Even if it's all -thread, nuts on both sides.
Does this work for incline as well?
This should work, but it’s best for incline benches to have two parts (like one part to sit on) because you might slide down otherwise 👍
What’s the measurement of the bench? Height and length??
so if you plan on competing, you want the bench to be the same as a competition bench. That would be:
Length: 1.22m or 48”
Width: 29-32cm or 11.5”-12.5”
Height: 42-45cm or 16.5”-17.5”
I made this bench a little bit shorter because I don't need the end of the bench, and to have it store easier.
@@LucyCao thank you for the info but I don’t plan to compete hehe. Just for working out/strength training.
Can u plz tell me that how much weight can this rack and this bench can hold.. ????
I personally have not tested (because I’m not that strong) how much weight it can hold, but I’ve seen weaker and more flimsy designs of both the rack and bench hold over 500 lbs. Both the rack and the bench has not shown any sign of breakage when lifting heavy.
That’s dope! I’m still looking for bars and weights 😭😭 banded exercise will do for now
👍 I found my plates and bar on Facebook marketplace. Also OfferUp has good options too!
Nice family project. I would unfortunately never be able to work with my family. My dad has anxiety and my sister will never help me 🤣
Lol thank you!
How many days did you wait for the concrete become hard enough for using?
After 24 hours, the top of the concrete should be dry to touch, and you can start using it lightly. The inside took a while to cure because it’s in the bucket, and I think it took about a week to dry 100%. But I would say about 3 days is more than enough because it’s not gonna move even if it’s half dried
@@LucyCao Thanks
2days under a hot sun 8hrs min a day
Plz tell me....that.....will the squat rack that u made is stable enough or not......
It’s not the most stable. Watch my most recent video on how we made it more stable (we added diagonal posts).
Iam from indonesia, sy katakan ini sangat bagus
Thank you!
Thanks for the video! What is the final height of the bench without the foam on it??
For me it’s 15.875 in, 1.75 bottom piece, 13.5 standing piece and a 5/8 thick plywood
How much indian rupees
“Bottom” is misspelled. 2:25
Yes! Thank you for noticing!
where'd you get the foam from? Awesome video
I got it (and most of my materials) at the Home Depot. It’s a 22x22 in piece!
How much does everything costed you?
Thank you! :)
Under $80
Wood type??
We just used the most basic type from Home Depot. I believe it’s the “Prime Whitewood Stud”. But, if you are using it outdoors, you would want to use treated wood. Hope this helps!
how tall are you?
I am 5’5 but shorter when squatting.
👍🏼
😍😍😍😍 crush
Hiii 😊
Lmao June now its a whole year later
assholes are selling weights 3x the normal price now, even used ones. lol
so i'll probably just make my own concrete weights for now.
That sucks. I got mine from a fitness supply store that I found on Facebook marketplace. They were about 1.7 times the weight, and they were new. I heard you can find good deals in gyms that are closing.
It could be even mor less
