      Whenever I think that HCLF vegan is the way, I do it for a couple of weeks and gosh I just get soft everywhere and puffy 😦from “clean carbs!” Low fat! Bananas, oats, potatoes with salads. Plus so many more hunger pangs 😑back on low carb now, already feeling better just after 2 days. Now must stay consistent!

    What inspirational speakers you have - I have especially loved listening to Tim Noakes and Malcolm Kendrick- sadly I continue to get criticism re my LDL being minimally high - ie that I’m being ridiculous avoiding statins. I’ve been low carbohydrate for several years and feel much better - ldl issues cause problems for medical practice- not for me. I’m no longer attempting to debate the issue- it’s exhausting. Great content- feeling vindicated xx

    Remember in the 70s when scientists were saying that we're heading towards another ice age? Apply everything that you learned about "science", bureaucracy, media, social and financial pressure to the theory of evolution or climate change.
    The effects of which on society are evident.
    Optimum CO2 for life is 1600ppm, all life ends below 160ppm and we're currently down to 400ppm.

    The new science is spellbinding. The marathon/carb/insulin stuff leaves me speechless and cheering with delight all at once, not that I'm sporty at all - my work is physical enough. It's just the science and the always hungry syndrome. I recognize that so much but now that I eat normally I'm rarely hungry any more. Fabulous. 👍🏻

    Absolutely fasinating. Tim is a wonderful man and a great scientist. I just have to take issue with one thing. In 19th century England in the winter they absolutely would have had access to vegetables in the winter. There would have been root vegetables, cabbages, brussels sprouts plus a lot of pickled and preserved foods from the summer.

    • @davidr1431
      @davidr1431 Рік тому +1

      Yes. It would be helpful to have an accurate account of the historical availability of vegetables in winter.
      I suspect that volume availability would vary greatly across the population and that winter food volumes of vegetables for the poor would be little above starvation levels.

    when you eliminate carbs you do eliminate the hunger pangs and you eventually end up eating less whilst at the same time eating the right food. It just makes sense. However, I learnt the hard way... you can eliminate carbs but if you still take in too many calories via protein and fat then you will put on weight... so you have to be wary that eliminating carbs doesnt meant you can go bat sh1t crazy eating protein and fats...there still is the all important calorific count consideration.

    • @rajdialnandram5676
      @rajdialnandram5676 3 роки тому +1

      Exactly. Only when you have reached your personal target weight then you can eat more fat and more protein.
      And when your weight begins to climb ,you go back to the no fat no carb diet to get back to your target weight.
      Great insight.

      Yeah... When over eating protein, it can turn into carbs and insulin can force it into body fat.
      So stick to one or two meals a day, tops.

    When I was growing up in the sixties my grandparents had a bit of land at the back of the house and grew their own veg. There was always a roast on Sunday with meat but the staple was potatoes =- spunds, spuds and more spuds. No one was obese. In fact, there was literally only one kid in each year of school who was called fatty. And school was all potatoes too. Anyone care to explain?

      What was their fat of choice? There were probably no seed oils and only butter and animal fats. They probably ate no processed foods. It seems to be the high seed oil use and high carb combo making us overeat and sick and fat these days. Check some Ben Bickman videos out.

    I don't agree with your weak door height explanation. It was nothing to do with the height of people back then but more to do with the necessary of avoiding constructing work platforms to stand on when building cottages back in those days. Build the ceiling beams to outstretched arm lifting rather than a standard 2.4m as is todays norm. It was cheaper to heat the room and simpler to construct. The cost of this was was to duck your head when entering a room, no big deal when the council planners aren't on your back.

    13:10... maybe your university of 40 years turned against you bcz your science about low carb would cancel the need for most university educations. A truly healthy food economy doesn't need many college educated people, but mostly pastured livestock farming & organic very small produce farms & small butcher shops. Wives might just go back mostly to homemaking, but with a modern twist, won't have to be lonely or stuck at home, could grow a lot of food & goat dairy & have a thriving small business or two while homeschooling the kids so they get enough time with Dad. That's why we homeschooled. The government school required too much homework, and full time private schools probably did too. A lot of investments & tax revenues depend on the mostly carbohydrates dietary guidelines continuing to be accepted by almost everyone. Most medical jobs, medical support industries, marketing jobs, college/university jobs & their influence on the next generation, construction & electrical & painting, whatever the medical industry needs to exist. Even crime causes work for high pay lawyers & staff, courts, police, repair business, medical. Maybe most jobs today are possible bcz of the fake food pyramid, more enjoyable jobs than would be without carbs being the majority of calories. What would people do instead? How many more millionaires & billionaires & upper middle class incomes have been made possible by the switch to low fat dietary guidelines? How much more tax revenue? The low fat diet sure seems to need so much more government regulation than the 1800s diet. What would a grocery store look like if most of the people wanted to eat the KETO diet to fix or prevent diabetes & most health problems?
