- I just spent 36 hours with the new Sony a9iii with its global shutter and the new 300mm f/2.8 GM OSS Prime. In this quick video, I give some feedback on the groundbreaking new sensor, pre-capture makes you a master sports photographer and the 300mm prime is going to sell well.

The most interesting aspect of this launch? How will the industry respond? I love Sony for pushing the envelope of what is possible and propelling the whole industry forward.
Looks amazing. Been waiting to replace my A9ii.
The next time I have14 grand lying around , I’m going to buy this camera, this lens, and the Tele converter
Hey, cool new set!
So pre-capture mode probably in A7-V, and A7R-VI. I really wish also something like A6900 came up, with pre-capture and stacked sensor.
Nothing else needed for me.
Hi PhotoRec TV
Do you know that the a9iii able to be shooting video 4K60p in APS-C crop mode ?
I believe so.
Did you try panning shots with a slow shutter speed to bring out motion blur?
I had a plan but when I came back to the courts they had wrapped up. There is no reason that should be any different.
I am waiting for a 1.4x to 2x (or 3x) tele convertor in the future! :P User don't have to carry 2 or more convertor and also, more range!
That is a very interesting idea!
Your mic sound awesome at the start of the video, what's the brand please
I keep meaning to review - it is a fairly inexpensive Mailada X5 Wireless Microphone. The key is to use Adobe Audio Enhance and it just makes it all better.
120fps for only 1.6 second is silly. im more interested in how long it takes before buffer at 60fps. if that can run unlimited then its a game changer.
That's an excellent point and I did not test :( Eager to hear what others find.
is there any bulb mode?
All very nice.. very promotional but what about us users with their top tier cameras and the firmware debacle? A1 user...
I have to see more but may even replace my A1 with this Camera . Global Shutter, Pre capture and full frame video 🤔tempting
A1 update coming up
@@Q_QQ_Q Yes but A1 update will not add global shutter, pre Capture or change full frame video at the higher FPS. That said - I am still excited that we are going to get a firmware update.
All depends on what you shoot and how many MPs are the sweet spot for your work. When I put down the a9iii and went back to my a1 there was a sense of loss. :) That precapture is sweet.
I feel your loss, that Pre capture is one heck of a feature @@photorectoby 😥
Spring update and the A1 mark II 18 months - 24 ? @@Q_QQ_Q 🤔 Could be dead by then or still going through my 120 frames per second in Lightroom 😄
No slideshow this year?
What ISO speed would you need to shoot at 2.8 in daylight at 1/80,000s?
I think it will be very high ISO but it can sync with a flash at that exact speed
Ready to replace my A7RIV!
Are you a Sony guy now? I always thought you were team canon
Iso 250 lowest ?!
Yes. In my testing I saw nothing that caused me concern at the higher ISOs when shooting JPEG. I have 10,000 and 12,800 samples and they look as good as my a1 if not better.
Good preview. But point of order:
• Sony was not first to create the Global Shutter sensor… all CCD sensors are global shutter. And other camera manufacturers have offered cameras with CMOS global shutter sensors.
• Canon… not Sony, created the first full frame global shutter sensor… Canon has been selling their full frame global shutter in their sensor catalog for almost a year now.
Thanks
What Sony say, that’s first one on a Mirrorless and FULL FRAME camera to have global shutter. Thanks.
basketballers? what the heck
