    Your thumbnail caught my eye with the big mouth. I love lingcod fish. 🐟 When I caught my first one, I was amazed. They are so strange and alien-looking. Cabezon and copper rockfish look awesome too. Cool seeing you pull out the kayak into the foggy surf 💦 Yeah, my brother would totally get seasick. Luckily, I dont. True, big fish like tiny lures too 👍🏻 Great yak fishing with your custom jigs, Brett❗️

    Killed it out there, what a fun day!… Catch clean and cook your own food and even with your own homemade lures… That’s awesome, got to be a good feeling.

    That blue ling cod is pretty awesome. Good to see those jigs work and a new score on the life list.

      Yeah they are. Not racking them up that quickly but I'm not going for species. If I get one I'm happy to but it isn't my goal.

    Fantastic fishing, great to see those lures put to work and a nice variety of species. Great stuff!

    Great outing! Having fish take something youve created yourself is very rewarding. And in the case of bottom fishing, it seems well worth it to cast your own. I've lost so many 5-6 dollar jigheads and 8-10 dollar jigs over the years. Will have to source a melting pot too. Hope the hali fishing went well!

      Thanks. Yeah the whole set up pays for itself pretty quickly. Just go to a thrift store for a used pot and make sure it's stainless steel. Get a cake tin for any extra lead. I struck out on the halibut but I talked to another youtuber that landed back at the same time and he said I wasn't where I needed to be. Next time... Here's his channel if you're interested. He said he'd post a video of his day out there (he got a nice halibut, 2 lings and a cabezon). ua-cam.com/video/dW-9PxF2sHQ/v-deo.html

      @@PeelingLine Bummer about the no hali bite. Thanks for the youtuber's link, I'll go check him out. I got my halibut roughly around the coastal area opposite your Clallam Bay.
      Thanks for the tips on where and what to buy. I'm considering casting some custom plaster of paris molds using some 3d printed molds. Your vid actually has me pumped about trying casting as well!

      @PeelingLine  Рік тому +1

      @@slacktide_angler I got one in that general area last year. I wasn't fishing for them just bottom fishing and one hit.
      Casting is pretty fun. Make sure you dry the plaster of paris they can explode if any moisture is still in there.

    Those jigs definitely are doing the job! You could almost surf some of those waves you went through, Haha. One of the things I really like about your channel, is that I get to see so many different fish species.

    • @PeelingLine
      @PeelingLine  Рік тому

      Thanks, Russell. It's funny you mention that because there are more people going here to surf than fish.

    You would have lost me right there at the beginning trying to get out through the surf. Looks like a lot of different species you went through. Some nice Cabezon that I would like to try to get someday. Plenty of Ling Cod out there as well I see same thing inside little one everywhere. Great video.

      Thank-you. The surf just sucks because everything is wet for the rest of the day. I am surprised you haven't got a caby. I remember last year a guy was mooching point no point and got a stunner. But it's probably like many species for me (brown trout, stingray etc) where I watch people with me slaying them and catch for the life of me get a bite.

    That's sick man, killing it on the homemade jigs! I don't think I've ever caught that many (non sunfish) in one sitting

      @PeelingLine  Рік тому

      Thanks. It is literally just pulling fish up off the bottom out there. I cut a lot of fish out of the video so that it wouldn't be so long.

      @Peeling Line I think longer videos might actually be better. I was looking at this catfishing channel with about 15k subs recently who uploads videos ranging from 20 mins up to over 2 hrs. Almost all of his top viewed videos (he has 12 vids over 50k views) were well over an hour long.

    • @PeelingLine
      @PeelingLine  Рік тому

      @@EngineeringHooksets Wow, I wonder how an uncut video would do. 8 -12 hours of this 😂

      @@PeelingLine lol that may be excessive. But 45 mins of constant fish catches might do well
