@@PeelingLine Hey Brett got one today at Deception Pass state park around 9 lbs and a friend got 7 lbs. Coho we seen three other caught on beach and four in the boats. They are my new favorite smoked fish. They are cool to see but it worries me that they will knock the boat and send me overboard.

I was just drifting but a good trick is to reverse the motor on the drop and go a little past your line so you drift over your lure. Once it is on the bottom it generally stays fishable unless the wind is blowing the boat too much. Also you need to have the right weight for the current situation. So have 1,2 & 3 pound weights / pipe jigs so you can increase if you aren't holding bottom.

Also I CARE about mackerel. 😅

I haven't tried them yet. But hit up table top and they are all over it. It's just as far as swiftsure. Maybe you want to do a collaboration next year and I can take you out for them?

That's interesting. Rock salmon sounds more appetizing than dog salmon. Dog salmon (chum) are the only fish I won't eat fresh. Smoked they're okay.

That's too bad. I love it out there. Sablefish are my new favorite smoked fish. I will make a video on how to catch them and what to look for on the fish finder.

Yeah I don't think it's a spawning thing though. I think it may be diet but no one knows that I've seen.

Thank-you. Yeah it is. Although I've never tried it for salmon. I keep wanting to try your bead method with it in a river but then I think about all the people and choose to do other fishing instead.

It's 15.5' but it isn't the same as any aluminum boat. Your boat should be fine if you watch the weather. Probably try fishing the straight before you head offshore. You definitely want to build up some experience with big water. The weather can turn on a dime out there and you don't want to be in some stuff you have never handled before. I have been out there some days and you'd be fine in a 10' bassboat but others where the 20'ers were turning back. It really comes down to the captain and how well he can handle his vessel.

@@PeelingLine Yeah, I got myself in a bit of a stressful situation out of Sekiu last year and was a bit over my head. A 20' aluminum. But the next day was a lot better, so just pay attention and be safe. I'm still quite novice though, so I learned a lot! 🤣

@@Kinghunter182 No I still have enough of them in my freezer. Lingcod too but people usually want those. I was going to stop and grab a vermillion to try but decided to head back to be safe. I did get my biggest pacific cod and 2 more nice petrale sole this day but I don't know what happened with the footage.

Yeah I got home fine. The last fish was wild. They cut the adipose fin off hatchery fish. I find 50' is better for this. I noticed when my lure ran into a jelly fish.

I did thats why I was dunking the net over the side. I left my bucket in the truck.

Thanks. It can be hard netting on your own but I have fished with a lot of people that can't net fish. Trolling for coho I have the boat moving a bit faster so there is a lot more force on the net. Boat2trailer has really good customer service they are sending me a new one.

It's kind of tough on my boat. I tried installing it on the ulterra trolling motor but the motor killed the transducer. I had to pay $500 for a new transducer. I mounted it on the plate at the back of the boat. I have to reach down into the water for the down and perspective modes if I want to change it. For the forward view I have a mount on my steps (you can see in beginning of the video) and just drop the steps in the water when I want to use it. I would like to have a pole mount near the screen so I can rotate the perspective mode but I can't figure out how to do it. Also the windscreen is kind of in the way.

The frontier would probably be easier for livescope mounting since the console is at the rear of the boat. It also doesn't have the windscreen.

Thank you! I was thinking the trolling motor too but was worried about damage like you have unfortunately experienced. Railblaza sells a pole mount that i was looking into while researching. The base can be bolted onto the gunwale.

@@Marc-nx9ce Garmin did me a solid and gave me a one time exchange for the transducer so I didn't have to buy the whole system again. I sent them mine and they returned a new one. Saved me over $700. I will have to check out that railblaza mount. They make good stuff. I used a bunch of their products on my kayak. Keep in mind the stabicraft have really thick gunwales.

If you ever want to make the trip out here I will take you out fishing.

The last I heard they were talking about opening clubs up in Spain. Not sure where they were at with that but I know a lot of you guys go there for holidays.

When I was shopping for boats I was looking for an 18' aluminum and most were over 40k. I tried one of these after going to the boat show and was instantly sold. Everything these days since covid is a ripoff but I am fine with the price I paid. You can't judge these boats by length alone. These are more comparable to jetskis than aluminum boats.

@PeelingLine thanks for the info. I agree that everything since covid is beyond a ripoff. Iv ben looking at bass boats. I really want one and the cheapest thing I can find that's a "bang for your buck" kind of thing that's brand new is a triton with a 115 mercury, but it's 34,000 without the Lawrence on it. I'm convinced that this country is done, so I wanna get a bass boat before it completely collapses. At least I can do something I love before the democrat trash party does something to make Putin nuke us. A bass boat for a reasonable price really isn't asking too much.
