We are at Priest lake Idaho, Many here are preppers, I have also gone as far to make us whats called a gassifier, It burns wood and produces a gas that runs a generator for power ! in case of any emergency. !
I’m 52 years old and have been a prepper my whole life. It’s the only way I know how to live. My parents are preppers and are in their early 80’s and have been preppers since the 60’s
You have had some interesting videos presented to include, the PO with retirement advice for rookies, the importance of a mentor and mentoring, Panacea security, and this one. 7k subscribes is a large number, but it should be a great deal more with these solid topics.
We lived in Idaho. Moved to casper Wyoming and moved back to Idaho. Have land.so if things get bad there is lot of lakes out here. And fish.and we are prepping. We don't know what is going to happen to the election. So it is not a Bad Idea to stock up.
Its scary that anyone could possibly vote for this lady. Once upon a time I voted Dem, mainly because of the Industrial war complex has always bothered me. Serious election, we need an overhaul in Washington.
I had a friend who used to live in the greater Seattle area and left to Boise, ID around 2017 due to the crime and homeless drug addict problem. I was on the phone with his mom late last year and she was talking about how she just can't seem to understand all those crazy north Idaho people, and so I asked her OK let's take a practical approach, why did you move to Idaho? She says, because I was following my son in Boise because she didn't have close family in WA anymore. I asked, so why did your son move to Idaho then? She didnt have a straight answer, but not once did it occur to her that maybe the way she votes is why shes moving out of WA. Yes she is a democrat and yes she did take the jab along with her son. Needless to say, I stopped talking to them and started making friends with chickens instead 😂 Like the thought process of these blue dem voters are like the brain of a peanut, they have no idea what's going on and can't understand why people are prepping and they still believe the media, like OK I guess you just didn't remember what happened in the last 4 years?? We've been prepping for over 20 years...i haven't heard an early prepper podcast for a long time. Best of luck on your preparedness journey. The learning curve is steep but not insurmountable. Read, learn, do. It takes effort. Unfortunately, many will not make the initial die-off; on the other hand, they will supply many physical needs like clothes and tools for those who do make it through.
Thanks for the comment! We are a community podcast, so not entirely focused on this topic, but it was a fun conversation and we will definitely do it again.

The line between going off grid and Prepping is razor thin. My 90 year old Texas Mother thinks I'm a Prepper like my cousin. No mom, he passed away with 6 coffins full of rifles waiting for the invasion. I'm living 20% off the grid which means, a large garden, 700 watts solar and wind power collection and a water collection system next on my list. If the grid went down for a month, I probably wouldn't notice. If it's down multi years, I'm looking at power to run lights and freezer 12 hours a day. Alissa's point is right on. Are you loading up on food that you hate to eat? Prep what you eat and keep track of your consumption rate. 6 can of tuna a month equals 6 cans times the amount of months you wish to prepare for. About 4 years ago we had a 4 day power outage. Out came all the camping gear. That Coleman 2 burner propane is a god sent when the power goes down, we learned our solar "Micro Grid" required additional panels and battery storage. Garden plants that can be harvested all year long. I thought the potato would be safe, They will last deep into the winter but iffy past February depending on the soil and drainage. The Jerusalem artichoke can be harvested 12 months out of the year. It's health benefits? do your own studies. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8774036/ Sprouts: Every year December to March we are snowed in up here on the mountain. Sprouts can be grown on the kitchen counter for those times something fresh, green and crispy is required. Spouses, most of us have one. When the power goes down and it's 20 below it's always interesting how they might react. A wide berth might be required until they discover it isn't the end of the world.
