At my school, Every Kid treats the Nintendo Switch like gold. When I said I had a Nintendo Switch everyone was like, "OH MY GOD HOW DID YOU GET THAT!? IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO GET IT AND IT COSTS SO MUCH." They still are PlayStation and Xbox fanatics at my school but kids love the switch.
Alot of my friends have a switch. They just wouldn't bring a switch to school because it's middle school so someone would probably be a dick and steal it or destroy it.

Like 10 kids at my school have a 3ds and 2 that I know of have a switch. when I went to a camp at my state's governer's school there were like 15 kids that brought a switch or 3ds and like 20 people were in line to play smash or mario kart and most of them played extremely well. (there was a student lounge with a wii u and a gamecube)
When people become teenagers, they get so caught up in finally being allowed to play more mature games that they get in a mindset of "I can play grown up games now, good-bye to those kiddie games!" It's almost like they care more about the M rating than a game just being good in general. I'm guessing they grow out of that phase by the time they get to college.
I feel you. I can't really play splatoon competitively like I'd like to, since none of my friends are nintendo fans, or they are and haven't been able to get a switch yet. With randoms, theres no way to form a strategy as to how your going to approach a match or what you need to do to take back the score.
Also, Theres plenty of kids in my High School that where Nintendo stuff, but unfortunately, most others grew up with PlayStation or Xbox :C. Still, UA-cam is the place where I can share my love for Nintendo, so that's good.
Well, I'm from the 16-bit era, so I grew up with the Big N sitting on the Throne of Gaming. Unfortunately, that throne was usurped by Sony during the Playstation 2 era, then it was retaken by Nintendo in the Wii era. Unfortunately, it was usurped by Sony again in the Wii-U era. Now, finally, Nintendo has returned to reclaim it's rightful place at the Throne of Gaming once again. I just hope they stay there for a long time.

I remember growing up with the GameCube most fondly (We had the 64 until I was like 3 or so I barely remember watching my brother play SM64 but our dog rekt the cords) And I practically grew up with Sunshine. And then Galaxy slowly moved into the picture. Galaxy and Sunshine were my two biggest games, but I was definitely raised by Nintendo
I don't think I have ever seen Nintendo this confident in a game. They FULLY know how excited people are for this game and they are marketing the hell out this game. Now that they highly raised the expectations for a Mario game, their next ones are REALLY going to be difficult to make. They may even feel pressured
Eh as confident as they are with this they were even more confident with zelda earlier this year. Which is part of what makes this all so impressive, hype for a nintendo game is this strong like once or twice a DECADE, and we've had TWO games achieve this level of hype THIS YEAR. Like, this is one of the biggest years of just pure nintendo fan hype, maybe the biggest EVER!
Should've just ignored the footage and trailers. They had me at that first vid with the Jump Up Superstar music. I was super hyped for Cuphead and still went in only seeing the bosses they had shown off years ago and now there's pleasant surprises everywhere.
Arlo look here. I have a 3DS. I have 2 Pokémon shirts, and one Mario shirt. I have a library of like 30 games for my 3DS. And let me tell you, my school has like 4% Nintendo fans. There are like 7 of my friends who like Nintendo, and a handful of others within the school who like it. Consider this, about 15, maybe 30 at max (that's a stretch, tbh) in a school of 900 that enjoy Nintendo. The other 870? They either don't care about any video games (majority) or they like Sony or Microsoft (little less than majority). And one more thing. Arlo, you better read this. If Nintendo does not get more kids to buy their products, Nintendo will die, sooner or later. Think, the adult fans today are the dead fans tomorrow, and the minority kid face today are the minority fans tomorrow, leading to less and less fans and sales for Nintendo. The Wii U is a prime example. Only hardcore Nintendo fans bought that thing. And in the end, while it may have had a decent library, it didn't get enough new people. The 3DS was like a second Wii, with a lot of casuals (generically) buying it, but who knows whether this catalog will buy more Nintendo? The bottom line is, less current kid fans -> less future adult fans -> less future sales -> Nintendo unfortunately dies. Nintendo needs now kid fans. Thanks for reading.

Fire emblem warriors came out today. Don't you think it's crazy Nintendo is releasing another game to Odysee? Sure, they gave it a week, but any momentum it could have built up over time will be crushed by the hype monster that is Mario Odysee.
I absolutely adored FE Warriors but I agree. It was a poor decision to have it come out just a week before Odyssey. I played it a lot in that week and I'm sure I'll go back to it at some point though, but for now it's the switch game I have that's spent the least amount of time in the switch

I've had GameXplain comment negatively about me (yes, me specifically, though they didn't use my account name to say so) because I was complaining that they've been spoiling the game in their video titles and thumbnails, and them saying "it's fine, these aren't leaks they were revealed by Nintendo themselves", ignoring the fact that there's people like Arlo and I who avoid everything about a game after the first trailer or 2. My hype for Odyssey is beyond measurable, I cannot wait to play this game.

Thank you for posting this I'm only 2 minutes in but I agree entirely. I have avoided everything past E3. my friends have told me a few things and then Nintendo news websites I visit show some stuff occasionally but I pretty much know nothing I don't know about the outfits. I know stuff is changed and I know they've added stuff and shown a lot of cool stuff. But I don't want to burn myself out especially on a game with my favorite Mustachio hero. I've done this before with a certain game and when I finally got my hands on it after all the hype and me constantly checking news articles about it and rumors and pictures, I wasn't excited. all my excitement left. I was overhyped and I had already seen it all. No surprises left for me to witness. That's why I'm going cold turkey with Odyssey. I already know some things I wish I didn't and they are very small things but still. I love surprises and there just isn't enough of them as I get older. I can't wait for the 27th.
The reason it seems like there are no more Nintendo kids anymore is because being a Nintendo kid is considered “nerdy” or “uncool”. For example if there is a Pokémon club at school anyone that goes to it is a nerd but if there is a Call of Duty club or something along those lines that is cool. It's all about convienance. I love using my 3DS (or switch if I had one) for gaming on-the-go, but smartphones have so many other uses that encourage people to always have them around, so it's easy to download some smartphone games and just play them while you text back and forth with someone or something. What I don't get is the craze around "free-to-play" clash-of-clans-type mobile games. Like I used to play games like that for a time, but I quickly realized how much of an annoying money-grubbing scam they are. I don't understand how people get so into them and I don't understand how they get genuine enjoyment out of playing them. Simple, easy to understand mingame-esque mobile games are generally much more fun and can actually be addicting in an interesting way, although not as fun as playing actual console games

Some Of Them Are A Pretty Good Time Killer. If You Like Visual Novels,Then I Suggest Playing "Choices". It's Pretty Much A Bunch Of Original Visual Novels Packed Into One App. They Got A Fantasy Epic,A Few High School/Collage Stories,A Few Horrors,A Spy Adventure,Romances,Super Heroes-You Name It,They Most Likely Got It And If They DON'T Then They Might Sometime Since They Update Both The App And The Stories Quite A Bit.

One of the most important lessons I learned in high school was the value of not worrying about impressing people. If someone didn't like what I was doing, I just went out of my way to do it more just to spite them. You'll be a much happier person when you stop giving into your own insecurities, and fully embrace what it is that you enjoy. You have to condition yourself to not little things like this get to you. Once they know they can't bother you, they won't waste their time trying.

The Switch is a rich kid toy at my school and now I'm popular. There are 2,000 kids at my high school, and I've seen like 3 besides myself with Switches, but people REALLY want them. I think Nintendo just needs to mass produce more efficiently.
My school is small and we have about 830 kids (if I remember correctly) and me and one other kid are the only people I know who actually have a Switch. Everyone else has an Xbox or Ps4 and really aren't interested in a Switch.
I am a kid and I am OBSESSED with Nintendo but I get how many people do not like Nintendo. At my school, there are like 15% Of Nintendo fans, and 85% Of other gaming consoles and smart phones. So of course, me being my ultra Nintendo self, I got my switch in June.
I like hub worlds because it feels like a home within the game. And we have the Odyssey ship as our “home.” Sure its smaller, but its a place to keep collectibles and a familiar place to go back to.

Sure stuff on the internet might get internal acknowledgement of its funniness all the time, maybe it will incur a smile og even a breath of air pushed out of my nose, but you achieved actual honest laughter! I remember growing up with the GameCube most fondly (We had the 64 until I was like 3 or so I barely remember watching my brother play SM64 but our dog rekt the cords) And I practically grew up with Sunshine. And then Galaxy slowly moved into the picture.
Galaxy and Sunshine were my two biggest games, but I was definitely raised by Nintendo

Eh as confident as they are with this they were even more confident with zelda earlier this year. Which is part of what makes this all so impressive, hype for a nintendo game is this strong like once or twice a DECADE, and we've had TWO games achieve this level of hype THIS YEAR. Arlo look here. I have a 3DS. I have 2 Pokémon shirts, and one Mario shirt. I have a library of like 30 games for my 3DS. And let me tell you, my school has like 4% Nintendo fans. There are like 7 of my friends who like Nintendo, and a handful of others within the school who like it. Consider this, about 15, maybe 30 at max (that's a stretch, tbh) in a school of 900 that enjoy Nintendo. The other 870? They either don't care about any video games (majority) or they like Sony or Microsoft (little less than majority). And one more thing. Arlo, you better read this. If Nintendo does not get more kids to buy their products, Nintendo will die, sooner or later. Think, the adult fans today are the dead fans tomorrow, and the minority kid face today are the minority fans tomorrow, leading to less and less fans and sales for Nintendo. The Wii U is a prime example. Only hardcore Nintendo fans bought that thing. And in the end, while it may have had a decent library, it didn't get enough new people. The 3DS was like a second Wii, with a lot of casuals (generically) buying it, but who knows whether this catalog will buy more Nintendo? The bottom line is, less current kid fans -> less future adult fans -> less future sales -> Nintendo unfortunately dies. Nintendo needs now kid fans. Thanks for reading.

I love the bit about the kid who had the odyssey cap. There was one day I was working at a grocery store and I saw this girl who was probably 8 or 10 years old with a homemade Yoshi costume. She had a green shirt and a red shell backpack kinda thing, and she had a hat with Yoshi eyes on it. And it wasn't even Halloween- it was like March or April! Fire emblem warriors came out today. Don't you think it's crazy Nintendo is releasing another game to Odysee? Sure, they gave it a week, but any momentum it could have built up over time will be crushed by the hype monster that is Mario Odysee.

I absolutely adored FE Warriors but I agree. It was a poor decision to have it come out just a week before Odyssey. I played it a lot in that week and I'm sure I'll go back to it at some point though, but for now it's the switch game I have that's spent the least amount of time in the switch

I've had GameXplain comment negatively about me (yes, me specifically, though they didn't use my account name to say so) because I was complaining that they've been spoiling the game in their video titles and thumbnails, and them saying "it's fine, these aren't leaks they were revealed by Nintendo themselves", ignoring the fact that there's people like Arlo and I who avoid everything about a game after the first trailer or 2.

Thank you for posting this I'm only 2 minutes in but I agree entirely. I have avoided everything past E3. my friends have told me a few things and then Nintendo news websites I visit show some stuff occasionally but I pretty much know nothing I don't know about the outfits. I know stuff is changed and I know they've added stuff and shown a lot of cool stuff. But I don't want to burn myself out especially on a game with my favorite Mustachio hero. I've done this before with a certain game and when I finally got my hands on it after all the hype and me constantly checking news articles about it and rumors and pictures, I wasn't excited. all my excitement left. I was overhyped and I had already seen it all. No surprises left for me to witness. That's why I'm going cold turkey with Odyssey. I already know some things I wish I didn't and they are very small things but still. I love surprises and there just isn't enough of them as I get older. I can't wait for the 27th.
This game is going to blow my socks off, I'm going to have to buy socks in bulk.

The reason it seems like there are no more Nintendo kids anymore is because being a Nintendo kid is considered “nerdy” or “uncool”. For example if there is a Pokémon club at school anyone that goes to it is a nerd but if there is a Call of Duty club or something along those lines that is cool. And as a middle schooler, god forbid anyone wears any Nintendo shirts. That’s just begging to get bullied.

It's all about convienance. I love using my 3DS (or switch if I had one) for gaming on-the-go, but smartphones have so many other uses that encourage people to always have them around, so it's easy to download some smartphone games and just play them while you text back and forth with someone or something.
What I don't get is the craze around "free-to-play" clash-of-clans-type mobile games. Like I used to play games like that for a time, but I quickly realized how much of an annoying money-grubbing scam they are. I don't understand how people get so into them and I don't understand how they get genuine enjoyment out of playing them. Simple, easy to understand mingame-esque mobile games are generally much more fun and can actually be addicting in an interesting way, although not as fun as playing actual console games

One of the most important lessons I learned in high school was the value of not worrying about impressing people. If someone didn't like what I was doing, I just went out of my way to do it more just to spite them. You'll be a much happier person when you stop giving into your own insecurities, and fully embrace what it is that you enjoy. You have to condition yourself to not little things like this get to you. Once they know they can't bother you, they won't waste their time trying.

The Switch is a rich kid toy at my school and now I'm popular. There are 2,000 kids at my high school, and I've seen like 3 besides myself with Switches, but people REALLY want them. I think Nintendo just needs to mass produce more efficiently.
Everybody has an X-box but a lot of people still like Nintendo.
My school is small and we have about 830 kids (if I remember correctly) and me and one other kid are the only people I know who actually have a Switch. Everyone else has an Xbox or Ps4 and really aren't interested in a Switch.
