XPulse 230 And XPulse 220: Installing Big Bore Kits, Racing ECU, High-Lift Cam

- Sick and tired of waiting for the bigger Hero XPulse? Just build one yourself. I'll show you how in this video.
I have a group of riding buddies who have fancied riding XPulses now, trickling down from bigger bikes. One problem though - the XPulse doesn't make a whole load of power.
And so, one of my friends contacted Bengaluru-based NMW Racing, and sourced 70mm and 71mm high compression pistons, an ECU with four pre-loaded maps, a six-spring clutch, a high lift camshaft and a racing ignition coil.
You can take a look at NMW Racing's website here: nmwracing.com/
Hopefully, these bikes will be ready to hit the road in about a week, and once the running in is complete, I will bring you riding impressions of both the builds compared to a stock XPulse.
The modifications are being carried out at Speedmonks Performance Centre at Mayapuri in New Delhi, under the capable hands of Atul Singh.
For any motorcycle parts, tyres or service requirements, you can reach out to Atul Singh at: +91 98115 17624
For those in Gurgaon, you can visit the main branch of Speedmonks by contacting Gilles Singh at +91 95991 00494

Thank you so much for giving me your time. I hope you have a great day.

Can't wait to see the final build.
Hopefully, I will get to ride them next weekend.
If you would have done this video a year back I would have definitely bought an xpulse knowing I can get the mod done. Your content is gold mine for anyone looking for mods related information. Keep posting.
Thanks
Wow this is dope! Imagine an 230 Xpulse...that solves the only problem (or not so much) that this bike has which power!! Thanks for posting this and will be eagerly waiting to see review of the completed bikes...hope that's coming soon!!
Looking forward to a detail follow up review, Thanks for doing the R&D for all of us .
Sure.
Even jhampa 66 did this on his 200NS.
For those of you who don't know jhampa 66, please check his video on upgrading his 200NS to 234 CC bike.
yeah and he is also creating good content on his RC390
Aabeh bro jake dekh NS ko upgrade krke kya faida dyno test dekho
Bekar kaam kiya hai
Yes i saw his video but he failed after 1 month his engine burn
Jhamapa failed because he is illitrate dont know about physics & automobile engg
Tbh by seeing your video, we came to know that this sort of work is going on in our country. Very rich content with technical briefings, not like just going thru by manuals. Good work bro.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks bro
U r taking riding journalism/blogging to never before seen heights .... Congratulations...love and respect,,, definitely waiting on an update on these two internally metamorphosised beauts ..all the best
Thanks.
You are doing really good job bringing modifications to public who don't know about such things
Now these are some serious upgrades and I am loving it🖤
Abhinav strikes again
Superb content !
Cant wait for the update and comparison.
Thank you. I'll do follow up videos as soon as the bikes are ready.
Thanx, waiting for the changed engines and it's real time punch👍👍
Keep posting contents like this. I really liked your videos and reviews. Love from Kerala ♥️
Thanks
NMW is a known name here, quite famous in drag events.
Issues with bigger piston and increasing compression, faster crank bearing wear.
Oh, is it? Let's see how long these parts last
This is one of the best videos , please do continue
Thanks Abhinav for the action you have taken to make this video.. I requested this video couple of weeks back.. and waiting for mods review on xpulse now.. with ❤️..
:)
Never forget what you started with your channel with, the r15 and i desperately waiting for you to finish the work and as usual awesome content

Wow engineering skills indeed.. cheers to speed monks, Atul and Abhinav👍👍
Thanks
Excellent video. Very well explained & created. Cheers Abhinav!
Thank you.
Subscribed just after I bought mine xpulse.. i was not aware that these parts are available... the xpulse community is getting bigger day by day
XPulse has a dedicated fan following.
You may have less subs.. but you'll have our respect. Thank you for coming up with such content. Hope your channel grows quick.
Thanks. Though I really don't care if the subs are 1 or a million.
@@abhinavbhatt binge watching your content
explanation is top notch 👌❤️
Thanks
Damn, that R1 is a distraction. Couldn't take my eyes off those front forks and calipers... lol
The reporter is very technically sound with clear voice. Atul looks like engineer with technical specification and cool to share his secrets. The shed looks like USA, not really Indian style, very clean, well arranged. I wish to visit him,he is interesting person. Waiting for more su ch screenings.
Quality content as always 🔥 Keep it up brother
Thanks
These dude just did what i was planning to do to my himalayan 2020
Great content brother... keep it running above 12000 rpm 👏
It would have been amazing if the NMW made 227cc blocks along with the pistons they make currently as boring out the block and leaving a space of 0.15mm is not a cup of tea for everyone.... Very informative video.. thanks abhinav bhai.. 👌🙂
you make videos that are actually useful. Thanks
✌️
Great content bro ! ✌️waiting for the latest video ...
Abhinav bhai, you are on fire bro!
Waiting for this impulse 😍
Great content. Thanks for sharing... Happy learned something new today

Waiting for this superb mod.
All the best BRO!!👍👍👍
Thanks
The type of videos i like!!
I told you previously also that these type of videos should be made for RE650 because it deserves that kind of attention from Indians who like tuning their bikes.
Great Video sir
Great video, very nicely explained. Kudos. A suggestion for the supermoto impusle, try the fz15 front tyres. Will be a hoot to ride after.
I'll pass on the suggestion.
Atul : 😂Apparently...
Jokes aside, very informative and to the point as always ❤️
Accidently Found Your Channel. And Believe Me All My Idea's Are Coming True!!!. Big Bore Kits yay. My fav🔥.

Break in part was hilarious 😂
Genuine work without any nonsense ✌️
Thank you.
Great video thanks
This video was educative
Great content as usual 👌👌👌
Thanks
Thanks for uploading this. I am looking forward to seeing the end result. The main reason I am not looking at the Xpulse is the lack of power. Can these mods be done one by one rather than the whole package?
Yes. They can be.
Lovely.. Cant wait to ride these and mod mine🔥
Come next Sunday.
@@abhinavbhatt goa jaa rha hu Monday..next month ab :)
@@tushardoultani1 arre, enjoy bro. Riding down?
@@abhinavbhatt yes 😁
Very informative. Superb
Thanks
Brilliant dude. If Hero of watching, they should know that a 250cc & a 300cc xpulse single has market potential. And they must hire a designer to make the rear end of this bike to not look like a 110cc commuter.
Keep it coming 🍻 (chai latte)
Hey Abhinav,
Which engine oil are you using on xpulse ?
Currently, I am using motul 10w50 on my xpulse 200 2v ... Have seen no issues so far, infact i feel better performance than company oil.
Also, after how many kilometres should i change the engine oil.
Hope you see this.
Fan from Nepal. I absolutely love your content.
Thank you.
Great stuff bro... By how much bhp and torque ratio it increases... And what will be the oil capacity increase if I consider modifying it. Thanks bro... Keep up the amazing crisp and clear content...👍
Any idea how much increase in torque can one expect from swapping the two pistons. I think it should make it more mountain friendly
Inspiring video...... hats off
Thank you
love this channel
Where is part 2?? Hope you guys do a comparison and drag race between these 2 and the stock bikes.✌🏻
will be waiting for follow up video
Sure.
Very informative video specially the high compression piston.
One question though, how are the clearances for the bump maintained? since the stroke length remains the same does the bump not hit the valves at TDC?
Looking forward to a follow up video of how these machines perform(including the highway).
I'm not too sure about that. I'll ask Atul.
@@abhinavbhatt thanks man.
Funny skit at the starting.
Will anything be done to the sprockets?
Amazing bit of info by the way loved the video.
All depends on how the power turns out and then will take it forward from there.
U r upto audience ❤️❤️
Thanks
Is the clutch the same, website says for hero impulse, isit the same for xpulse. I ordered mine as my clutch kept spoiling after every one month, hope the nmw will make a big difference
hey Abhinav, NMW also has a 73mm piston which takes the cc to roughly 240.. want to know.. if such an increase is viable along with the other parts (cams, clutch etc) or will it affect the reliability of that motor?
Won't be very reliable
We want more from you bro 😍
Sure.
Xtorque in Bangalore was like speedmonks in delhi ! Miss that place! For people in Bangalore who to want to get the mods grease house white field is the scene !
Would love to check it out when I am in Bangalore next.
It will get a good power and torque bump
Hope to see you ride these soon
Also Abhinav please provide the info on new increased power and torque output of these bikes
NMW hasn't provided any numbers. Will tell the difference by feel.
@@abhinavbhatt OK👍
Actually I'm thinking of buying xtream 200s and doing this mod on that bike to make it quicker and better top end performance as they both bikes share same engine and chasis platforms
Hi Abhinav, i have some doubts regarding the big bore kit. Why did you guys go 71mm piston instead of the bigger 73mm piston. Also i think the high lift cam your using is stage 2 not not stage 4. Is there any particular reason? Please explain. Thank you
Icarus flew too close to the sun...
Bro, I really liked the video. After seeing this I have an idea in my mind that what if we do the same to impulse? Big bore kit for impulse? Can you do this?
Please share an update video regarding the performance.
Please make a long term reliability video of these machines after installation
Excellent.
Please give total expenditure.
Hello I hve xpulse 200 old version can i upgrade my top speed to 135-140 is there any way to do it i am ready to upgrade and ready to do necessary changes
@abhinavbhatt You both are just too good bro, genuine personalty.
this is my first appreciate comment on youtube👍
Thanks, bro 🙏
Amazing
Superb brother
Thanks
Can we just increase power(specifically bhp) n tork of re Himalayan...? More cubic cap wid less power currently.
Abhinav Bhatt....I am so proud of you :)
Thanks
Is the ECU a piggyback (takes values from the stock ecu) or a standalone which replaces the stock. I checked with powertronic and their ecu takes readings from the stock.
This is a standalone ECU.
Hi Abhinav, do you think these changes the piston bore and the exhaust would hamper the warranty?
Of course.
@@abhinavbhatt bro, if I get only the exhaust change then too?
Any updates on the outcome and how they are performing
apparantly, what I want to say is , basically I liked the video
You can write a Manual with this much information for nmw
