Exactly, after you pulled in, loaded....see ya...you're on your own....have fun backing out onto highway with an automatic gate that wants to close, no traffic control and Mr. VapeForeman sitting at his favorite bar sucking down a cold brew. Good job Dan
Truth
Backin in empty no chance of damaging load. Backin out, shitty traffic control:!! Very good possibility of damage to load, more bullshit more hassel. Like u said. They set da load down on your trailer tjey gone good luck n good bye!!!!! Back in drive out you can see traffic do much better!!!!! A little common sense. Avoidsuspence. Right?????
that's always the case when guys like that are in charge when they dont give a shit about anybody but themselves..
Trucking rule: if you can back in, you can pull out. Not true if you reverse it. Been a trucker 30 years, always follow the rule.
Great job on backing into a bad spot!!! Let me guess the foreman says to you we have trucks in all the time!! Lol
James , I do local and i hear that nonsense all the time. “ we have trucks in all the time” I hate hearing that lol. For us its usually on residential deliveries. And theres either low trees or low hanging wires
@@ThatguynamedLos Had a guy tell me years ago, "if you can't get it in here I got a girl in here that'll do it " : )...got it in there....
@@banzaii6285 : )...got it in there.... The girl? hahaha
Find out later they were bobtails
@@banzaii6285 I'd tell him go get her.. I can watch.. allot less work.
That highlights the lack of knowledge, forethought and basic common sense from people not involved in logistics.
Spot on, Dan, stand your ground.
That was a tough back in Dan!!! But you handle it like a pro👍
Thanks for watching
I think that shipper should cut about 5 feet out of their fence, opposite the card key side. They act like they’ve never had a truck pull into their yard! That was crazy! Dan did a great job as always!
@@RaoulThomas007 doesn't look like somewhere that gets truck traffic on a regular, seems as if they just had to get generator out of there
New place’s always get out and walk the area and scope out how much room you have before you make and decisions. This avoid any damage to truck and property. The time wasted walking the area is more valuable then a repair or tow bill.
You are the captain. Never listen to somebody that knows nothing about trucks. I be he said " we get trucks in here all the time "
I agree
Thanks for watching
As a new driver in the mid 90's I was "told", I had to back into a yard in Staten Island NY. The street had cars parked on both sides and I just couldn't get in there. After about 30 minutes and many attempts, I heard one of the workers say, "Why don't you let him pull in from the back like the last guy, I'll move the cars in the way". I could have killed him at that moment. I could see the problem from the beginning, but didn't want to speak up thinking that the last driver had gotten in, so I must be able to as well. Turns out the last guy had a cab over and a 40' trailer. I had a conventional with a 48' trailer.... The lesson is speak up when you need to!
Always liked when they told me you can't back in. Always made me want to do it even more. Love it.
Dan that was a really tight location to get into. Amazing that you did so well positioning the trailer for the load...
I wonder why its ***so dang complicated*** for non-truckers to grasp the concept of ***stearing radious*** and how it changes when you pull in vs. Back in... good job
Hell of a good job backing into that place Dan. You make it look easy. I drove for Maverick and I know backing spread axle trailers is not an easy task. 👍
I started out moving mobile homes (Trailers ya know) when I was 16 yrs old (1974) My Dad had been doing it since he retired from the Army in 1964 and I was in the truck with him most of the time. I learned from his mistakes and successes. I never let anyone get me into a situation that would damage a load. Good video on this subject Dan. THANKS!
The other part is if your truck damages anything you get held responsible. I had a back up job like that at a farm. Farmer was standing in back waving his arms this way and that and had no idea. I got out looked it over and ignored him, job done. Good Job Dan.
Number one rule set in stone. NEVER drive into a place you can't back out of.
I would do the same thing. I drove flatbed back when all the construction was going on in Las Vegas. I refused on a couple of occasions to spot my truck where the contractor wanted it because it just was not safe to do so. I will say they were good about it and we came up with a new plan to unload the truck safely. My dispatcher always backed me up and left it to me to do what I thought best. Don't take chances out there and if it just doesn't feel right don't do it. And don't forget GOAL-Get out and look!
Always better to back into holes tight enough to have hair around them empty- with the flatbed more visibility and all trucks no weight to deal with making for easier maneuverability👍🏼
"I can drive my pickup in there ,so why cant you get your truck in ? "
I agree. Tour job is to get the trailer under the crane. His job is to set the load on the trailer. That certainly was a challenging one. God job.
Thanks for Watching
Just came across your video. Nice backing job. I've been at it since '97. I was once told back when I first started "back in never out"... They are words to live by. Even if it means going around the block a time or 2 to get that correct set-up. And always sight side whenever possible. Keep it shiny side up driver. Thx again for your video. 👍👍
Nice job Professional Driver. You deserve a medal for dealing with those knuckleheads. Trucker Achievement Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters.
Awesome job Dan. Enjoy your well deserved weekend. Stay safe
Great backing up into that small hole Dan thanks 4 the vid and stay safe
Well said. When you are tasked with doing a HARD thing and an EASY thing, always do the HARD thing first. You're more alert and rested, and you clear the risks, so it's (usually) smooth sailing after accomplishing the more difficult or risky work first.
So true
Thanks for Watching
I was taught, that if you cant back into a place, you cant drive into either. It was a difficult back in. Good job.
This backing event clearly identifies the truth in the adage "a picture is worth a thousand words!" You possess an enviable "skill set" Dan. Stay safe - don't die!👍👍👍
Superb driving getting that truck threaded into that tight driveway Dan! That sure shows that you aren't a spring chicken in the trucking world!
Backed in my farm lane in dark for years. Had the occasional jerk who would blast me with brights. Nice job driver.
GREAT Backing up into that lot Dan GOD BLESS U enjoyed the video for sure
Good job backing in and wood blocks. I carry plug kit and spray bottle of water with a little dish soap.
You're so right Dan. I wouldn't want my equip.ent messed up because someone else says it's OK when I know better. It's my equipment, I'll handle it the way I should feel safe doing so. When I was operating my forklift back in the day I had a hundred different people tell me how to operate it with a hundred different ways. I did it my way and I got the job done. And yes I would love a lot of video on the world's largest truck stop. Awesome as ever. 😎😎
The first thing I learnt back in the 70s you always!!!back in no exceptions 😀😀
Hold tight to your drivers side , if theres to many curves getting in theres to many curves getting out!😉AND YOUR EXACTLY RIGHT ABOUT BACKING IN UNLESS !!?? THEY HAVE A FORKLIFT TO MOVE YOUR EMPTY TRAILER" IF "YOUR UNLOADING ??? OR THERE'S JUST A TIGHT ENTRANCE BUT ROOM TO TURN AROUND !😉
It's amazing where they want a simi truck and trailer to go.
Nice job backing in there. One of the tougher spots I’ve seen you in.
Thanks for Watching
You need to watch his video where they pulled him up a mountain with a bulldozer to deliver a cellphone tower.
@@archhoagland6192 mind games worked on you huh? I'm more like Daniel I aint playing games with these shippers. I bet it wasnt your truck either?!?!
Stay by your rules Dan. Always back in never risk driving in.
This video is a prime example of why you are a PROFESSIONAL freight transporter not just a driver! A green kid would have said ok and tore up his equipment or there fence or property. Have fun on your weekend off don't get the chrome fever lol. Please get the half fenders, or at least quarter fenders. Lol
I have worked with gravel trucks all my life, being in construction. In 2012, needing a job, I took one hauling gravel. Did that for 10 months. I got a different perspective now when I talk to drivers. I just say this is what I need and I will help anyway I can.
You handled the situation well & correctly. Take care.
People that dont drive always think they know what's better for the professional driver that deals with these often
You are correct about taking care of your business and equipment.
Thanks for watching
@@SuperTruckerdan how do you like that paccar engine? Any problems since you had the truck?
Good to stand up for your equipment Dan.
It's easier to back in off street no way I'm backing out in highway. Did that one time on construction site no where to turn around had to back all the way back out.
Just a little tight Dan 🙈 Well done 👍🏻 Stevie 😎🇬🇧
That was definitely tough job backing up but like a pro you got it done Dan you are the man and you are correct if you can't do it don't do it it's your truck not there's good job catch you on the next one
Good backing Dan & you are right about protecting your equipment !!
You should have told that Foreman you got your license from Tractor Supply and that entitles you to do what you think is best for your truck and the way you drive, LOL.... . I really agree with you backing in, and in the end, you got it loaded. And yes, it was a tight squeeze. Last video I told you, you had a slow leak in that tire, so a few points for me, LoL.... But it would of cost probably $150.00 bucks to patch it, so yes, I think that was a super idea just to run a used tire, then you can change it when you buy new tires for your drives. I like how you make good decisions and that includes keeping me on as a viewer, LOL.... Take care Dan, and wishing you good loads and safe Trucking !!!!!!! Thumbs up on the video as always !!!!
Great job Dan. That was a tough back, not sure if I would’ve done it. Good job though. 👍
Safe travels dan
Thanks for watching
Jeez, whadda place! I'm with you on backing in as opposed to pulling in. You set the example of a real professional driver, Dan!
Thanks for Watching
Started watching couple of days ago good videos sir.
Hi again you done the right thing there it is illegal to back out onto the main road in the UK and it must be the same over there you done the right thing mate good videos keep them up regards Dicky
Bro that was very difficult to back inn.. I probably would have did the same .. good job on backing inn
Good for you for standing your ground. You are the expert behind the wheel of that truck, not him. IMHO nothing worse then someone standing there telling you how to do something but they can't do what they are telling you to do themselves. Its just a sense of arrogance that can really get things heated up quickly. All he had to say is I need the trailer right here to load, how do you want to do this? Then just support you in getting it done.
I agree with you 100%
Thanks for watching
You're a top notch driver Daniel, I was shocked that you made it!
Great job Dan! Better to back in then have to back out into the roadway.
Nice work Dan 👍
Excellent video. Liked the 🚛 maneuvering to the loading spot. The fellow in the blue shirt seemed more help than the foreman
I was just told that we have the same coordinator. This will be my first time flat bedding love your videos
If you have any questions let me or Katie know
Thanks for watching
Thanks bud will do
Have fun at Walcott, a fair amount to look at but not a whole weekend. The truck museum is a neat place to check out and it was FREE when I was there last year. You might also want to check out the John Deere Pavilion downtown by the river, take a taxi, not much for parking. It's Deere's own museum.
I'll check it out
Thanks for Watching
If ya go to the Pavilion and get hungry, just a couple blocks away is Johnny's Italian Steakhouse. Top notch food although a little pricey. Enjoy
You got skills Dan
Dan id put a set of half fenders on , I bought some really nice black plastic half fenders for my T600 and they really save on slop n salt getting splattered all over my headache rack and equip I store on top of my side box
You have the patience of a saint. Sometimes you don’t give yourself enough credit.
Patience is one of the biggest assets of any driver. Most young ones don't have it and get freaked out if they are waiting too long for some places. That's the time when I'd usually catch up on my paperwork, navigation or lay down. Sometimes all three.
I been trucking since 1987 I would of pulled in to that hole. That little blind side back piece of cake. But thin again I have always been pretty confident of my backing. lol
I have over fifty years and I would NEVER pull straight in at that angle, only back in, you did the right thing, that yard was not built for big trailers, especially with that entry switch box there, if you had damaged the box with those morons guiding you, they would have charged you for it !!
I’d like to see what you look like when mad. Not at me of course. Great job on getting in there.
Good job Ron.
At least you had three idiots guiding you! 🙄
Like you said they could give two shits if you get out or not. Awesome job.
Sometimes it seems easier to back up on their own.. Experienced truckers, know what to do.
Stand your ground Dan! You don't tell him how to rig, he don't get to tell you how to drive!
Good video Dan, that rigging foreman screwed up the orientation of two of shackles on the first pick i.e. professional riggers do not have the choker eye on the pin of the shackle, if you ever go back there show him the video.
Nice back job. Watched you setting up and said nope this is a blindside back. That damn gate keypad. Been there done that. Another thing the rule of backing in pull out doesn't always work. Trust me.
Good technique, there. Thanks.
I've had that same conversation "My _______ (fill in the blank )could back that in here"My response"Why the hell didn't you hire them".
If they don’t get along with Dan the problem is them. Thanks for the video Dan. Take care.
wow excellent backup lots of patients
VERY WELL DONE driver
I’m positive the camera didn’t even do it justice
my first impression was “NO WAY”
I would have attempted it, but just like you, would have been a professional, slow and strategic approach.
Perhaps you could have parked along the outside of the fence and the crane could have extended over to you. That was nuts trying to back in but you nailed it. P.S. I'm no trucker so I wouldn't know...and what nerve of that idiot trying to make you do what he wanted.
Dan I agree with everyone and you standing your ground and backing it in. But what pissed me off even more is to see such a big crane for such a small generator. You could have pulled up next to the fence if not on the side of the road for that thing. I think it was a bad setup for the crane operator and the foreman should have seen that. I’ve moved plenty of military generators with smaller cranes than that.
On a second note what program do you use for your video editing
I was thought about that too. Could of just set it over the fence.
I use a program called MovAvi for my video editing. It's not to fancy but very easy to use.
Thanks for Watching
Hi dan, yea that is old school crap.. good job. it all comes back and its easy. lol
Glad you were able to do that it looked very hard to get in there. Good video.
Fab maneuvering very well done. Scotland.
Good Job Dan
Always enjoy being with you.........Happy Trails
One heck of a job backing in Dan, Have a safe trip.
Phew, yah that was tight spot! Way to git'er done Dan👌
Hey Dan! That TA truck stop off I-69 in southern Michigan is in Ta-Kon-sha (TEH-KAAN-SHAH an Indian word.
Bro your a driver for sure. That was a tight one
Exactly you sure is right. Your truck not his and not there's. I had that same problem once before at the oil rig. I know what you mean because something breaks they want fix it you will.
I agree! Stuff is not cheap to repair
Great Advice born only from experience
Great Video!
Hey Diann great job backing that trailer up I would’ve made the guy bring the load out to the street keep up the good work enjoyed all your videos
Agree with you 100%! They don't care about YOUR equipment. That was poor planning on the contractors end, he was cutting corners on their end $$$ buy not setting up the job site for trucks to enter/exit the site.
If they have trucks coming in there regularly it would be prudent to fix the driveway where it is straight in and, maybe, even widen the gate. Save a lot of aggravation.
I would’ve told the foreman the same thing that if I can’t back in there to pick up the load then I can’t pick up the load it all and I’ll go somewhere else. Did you write down that was very difficult to back in their video and I wouldn’t have been able to do any better myself so good job keep up the good work I was enjoy watching your videos.
Nice job sir. Thinkin, put a higher stick to mark the opening pole would give you moore comfort than a man waving.
My thoughts, anyway, the challenged accept and shure you show them!!🤗🤗
Great backing skills sir, good job.
i have a customer you have to pull into and back out of. The way it's set up I can't imagine trying to back into it. They come out and stop traffic when you back out though
HeroinBob well atleast they help ya backing out. Would love to see a video of it.
Was in a situation like this before had no choice but to pull in due to construction on the road. Once I couldn’t back out just had them lift my trailer with a forklift and move it over since I couldn’t put bend in it other wise I’d hit the building.
Hell of a job driving. Impressive.
