these looks are a great combination of style and comfort.. I recently added a couple of pairs of sneakers to my wardrobe, Onitsuke tigers, one white, one black; but this makes me want to go further. The dark navy shirt & dark navy chinos w/ brown belt & sneakers in particular is an inspiration for those of us with gray hair.
I purchased a pair of Thursday Boots solid brown leather classic sneakers with that gum sole. They came with leather laces aand flat laces and I like the flat ones better. They go with a lot of different things. Can't stop wearing them.
I own two pairs of these sneakers from Thursday Boots (Black & White) and I am planning to get a pair in brown. I would recommend taking a look at some sneakers from Beckett Siminon as well.
Nice video. As a former sneakerhead, I still wear them often but not the high attention colorways. My opinion is low on most gum soles. They require a more specific overall look. Usually the fit looks better and cleaner with a different option such as suede. Adidas Stan Smith now has options as many other brands. To me…it looks clean and is a nice subtle flex that is less common. At that point your options include low top Clark’s or the like. And if you are being adventurous like the rest of your clothes…why not throw in a cool colored Chuck Taylor..like beige or mustard that goes with lots of combos. A stylish guy pulls it off easily. Again…subtle flexes…like quality eyewear. **Side note…my only gum sole sneaker is the least worn pair in my collection and about to be rotated out. Also…keep your white soles clean by cleaning them regularly!
How are these Thursday sneakers as far as walking goes? We are planning a trip to London in a couple weeks and I REALLY need a casual walking shoe…….speaking of travel. You might consider a “what to pack” video for those of us only bringing a carry on and a under the seat bag, i think that would be interesting. Thanks.
I've got those brown shoes (really love them. I am trying to figure out if they'll work with my shorts. Initially I thought that would be the case, but maybe not, or it's just me trying to get the confidence up to wear them together. That last look (other than the sneakers) is my go to office wear. Usually pair it w/ a pair of cadet's from TBC. Keeps me above most of the folks in the office anymore, but not back to full office dress. Thanks John!

I bought a pair of premium low tops, cacao, and while the quality seems excellent the toe box is too narrow...i have a normal width foot and do not have a problem with width with other brands, leading me to think these are made narrow.....are other lines of their sneakers any wider or roomier in the toe box?
Hi. Love your looks. Personal not a lover on the untucked shirts. Not everyone I no can tuck but when you have a good body tucked is the way to go. See To many kids in this look and personality feel it trying a little to hard to fit into there grunge look. Tee shirts that end at you natural waist are ok personally tucked in alway elevate your look and for us short guys helps to make up look that bit taller. For tall guys the reverse may also be true. This always depends on body leg length. I don’t no many short guys that would enjoy looking smaller then they actually are. As I said just my opinion.

After contacting Thursday, they were more then happy to give me a refund. I opted for very similar sneakers in those 3 colours from an Australia shoe company. Moral of the story? I'm 50 and I wear my AJ1s mids anywhere, everywhere, anytime of the day from family gatherings, office work, formal gatherings, you name it. It's my go to shoes. I pair them with chinos, dress pants, and jeans. My go to tops are; casual polo (short sleeves), polo shirts and plain v-neck t-shirts and of course, the "cherry on the top" - sports jacket. The said silhouette, is times less and its across being a gentlemen and a thug at the same time.
I have a good problem - I’m 70 but I don’t look my age. Make no mistake, I don’t look like I’m 40. However, I have all my hair and it’s all my original color. I’m tall and slender. I can get away with wearing things that most guys my age can’t wear. I have been wearing things that are pretty similar to what you share on your channel. The area that I could upgrade is my casual footwear. I wear On Cloud 5’s often with shorts. I’d like to try some Thursday footwear sometime.
Good eye! It’s one of my fathers old watches. Just a standard quartz. I recently bought a mixed metal bracelet for it, but didn’t have it on for this video.

Thursday Boots are NOT true to fit...I'm a traditional size 10 with 98% of other boots, shoes, and sneakers. My original order, size 10s were sent back for 10.5. BOTH pair I purchased were still tight with the white pair being unwearable. Problem is, I thought I should wear them to break them is a bit...hell no, my feet were killing me after an hour. Problem was, they were worn outside thus not returnable.
You’ll never convince me that wearing sneakers, especially in the evening, is ok - during the daytime, maybe. If you’re over 40, it makes men look like they’re chasing their youth. And I live in south Florida.

I try to avoid sneakers or trainers as we call them in the UK .Older guys look more stylish in loafers or Chelsea boots in my opinion.
