I wish that watching Dash Cam Owners Australia videos is a mandatory requirement for obtaining a Learner or P Licence. These crash compilations are good material for learning who is at fault and can help avoid making such mistakes especially when the person is a beginner. I meant that's at least what I can do to avoid being the person at fault by watching these videos refreshing my memories of the theories and rules (I can only do my bit, as for someone crash into my car, it is what it is). I have learnt a lot from watching these videos since I got my first car. I had the hazard perception test, I felt those theories and simulations are not enough for training me to be a decent driver.
100% Agred. Have been watching DCOA for at least 5 yrs now. :)
I actually agree with this. Especially now that the hazard perception test is mandatory on your L's. After watching enough of these I've definitely learnt to check intersections, either at lights, or just stop or give way signed ones. It is surprising just how many people have crashes in back streets because of this.
The hazard perception test already provides a (rather basic) simulation of potential dangerous situations which applicants have to react to. All driving related tests, both practical and theory are done before someone gets their P1 license
Absolutely
That still won’t help if people still get to learn from parents and uncles. Mandatory, standardised driver school and training will solve all this.

isnt thats why theres 28 words for 'fuck' in Polish? :D
Joy L - nor is Australia. We're like Russia, but with much less snow, and we drive on the left hand side.
Train a few camera's on that junction and you could be rich!
1:33 Even Rob Thomas could predict something was coming to an end
🤣👍
Also... When your getting some good 'private happy time'
we didnt go to far.
@Great White I will keep a ear out
It’s amazing how many drivers don’t know what give way means. 😱😱😱
01:54, that truck driver still had the box of “Crunchy Oat Clusters” he got his license from, on the dash.
Certainly explains that cluster Fuk.
You gotta retain the box for proof of purchase.
He was fishing for an updated license. Truck licenses are only in 1 n 10 packets.
@Elon Mask
Love the skill on your comment. Made me genuinely chortle. All I have to give in return is this 🏆🙊
You want to know why Insurance is through the roof - this is why!
So many inattentive drivers, so many crossing multiple lanes, so many not leaving enough room in front.
For real. Every sane driver has to subsidise these idiots.
It's incredibly frustrating when you leave yourself a safe gap between you and the car in front and some dickhead jumps into it, almost causing the rear ender you left the gap to avoid.
@@ashbee2982 Yep, don't ya just hate that, then you slow down to make your safety gap again, and it happens again and again and again.... Before you know it, you're kilometres back from where you could be if none of it were to happen. Rinse and repeat for every time you drive to and from work.
@@cobrin6437 For sure. If I see someone with their indicator on waiting to be let in somewhere i'll gladly lift and extend the gap for them but most of them just put their indicator on AS they're diving in.
It's just annoying because you try to be safe and leave a gap like you're supposed to, but someone will always be right there willing to almost wreck the both of you to insert themselves into that gap.
That last one… how about reacting to what’s in front of you too?
Bloody hell.
1:50 driver looks so unfazed like he's waiting for GTA loading screen 😂
17:54 At least the Mercedes driver is paying attention to the road ahead of them.
Maybe it's the cam's FOV, but that doesn't look even close to 71kmh, it also doesn't update - coordinates and time update twice, speed doesn't update at all...
@@dyIanVII this is my footage, the context: cruise control was locked at 71 and I looked away to my passenger for a second to make a joke about Mercedes drivers (as she drives a Mercedes) at the absolute worst time and I looked back to see a car driving through a red light into my path
@@lakeland6798 glad you’re both okay?
@@lakeland6798 you take your eyes off the road to look at people while talking in your car? Dumbest shit ever
@@bonsbuns2651 generally no, passengers often give me shit for being too hyperfixated on the road, it was a rare exception and it definitely won't happen again
7:56 That crash is gonna be a law suit, just by the immediate screeching
Wonder what happened with that S13 on the run lol
Probably a stolen one that's been written off now :/
It looked pretty clean so probably stolen
Will end up on marketplace for 20k
aaaaaanddd s13's have now gone up in value, another one off the road :/
My heart dropped when it got hit :'( That's another s13 off the road
I just want to take a moment to appreciate the quality of some of these cams. Out here catching bad drivers in 4k.
6:10 the chime of the dash cam covers his swearing perfectly
My day gets better when I see ' Dash Cam Owners Australia' has uploaded a new video!
9:17 As soon as i saw the Porsche creep out i was like: "Oh nooo not you 😔."
he didnt even ONCE glance right…. what a flog!!!
straight out of the dealership too
@@mordecai3366 exactly. he probably just bought it 45 mins earlier
Imagine if it was a test drive. The most expensive one.
I see so many crashes like that in these videos. I hate those turnouts but if you can't see just don't go, it's not worth it.
first guy, if he was driving respecting security distance, that wouldn't happened
it's entire fault :)
How bad would that Ute driver feel getting that red light camera ticket in the mail at 15:48
Only time you’d get off tho
I'd ask for a decent copy to keep as a momento.
Imagine if they still fined you lmaaaaaaao.
Still be a valid ticket as he did try to beat the light and legitimately ran the red.
@@FnixGhod1
He was stopped when he got hit up the arse. Nothing valid about that.
The real crime was the Puma selling fuel at 165.7¢/L
Saw it the other day at 198.9¢/L
Isn't that still a lot less than UK ?? (£1.30-1.40/l. .. more on motorways)
@@madsgoodwin gotta love the bp ultimate prices....
From all the dashcam videos I see online, the ones from Australia really are in a league of their own.
The guy on the bike is what I would call a true Aussie. Accident happens in front you? See if you can help.
Considering how much hate cyclists get in the comments on these videos, I'm curious to see how they deal with him. "Cyclist... being a good guy... does not compute..." [head explodes]
“The number of avoidable collisions are too high”. Who else has to watch most of these multiple times to figure out the level of stupid involved?
Multiple times? I thought it was pretty obvious right off the bat
There was at least 3 that had me trying to figure out what the hell was going on, the real stupid is the lack of just "Give Way" that got blown through by some cretin.
I really do feel bad for people getting clobbered by them and hope they're doing ok
@@SomeUA-camGuy Yeah. You're better than me.
17:55 these guys tampered with the info on the bottom of the recording. They were going wayyyy faster than 70kms.
(Edit): read Paul’s comment
The speedo stayed on 71kms even when they slowed down and crashed
Absolutely correct, well spotted
100+ easy
Not saying they arent going over the speed limit but the fov of the dash cam is pretty high. If you look up 'perception of speed' on yt theres a video of a train showing how different fov's change how fast the footage looks.
@@excypha172 that’s a good point.
7:50 You can clearly see the other car turning right so you accelerate in to him. Well done!
But at least then you go "AAAAAHH!!! AWWWAHHHH!!!" as loudly as you can for the kids
@@bunkymag Probably no seatbelt so he hurt himself lol
@@FreziS apparently he had really bad back damage
@@randomaccount64 This is why you wear a seat belt.
@@FreziS or the airbag got him. Those things fuckin hurt!
"Typical P plater, not looking ahead."
Get off your phone
You damn kids
its not an issue with the p plates. they dont exist anywhere else in the world.
I’ve seen more open drivers using phones than ps bro
@@BadDriversOz i have a uk drivers license. and no, p plates and platers dont exist there. The concept of a p plate is completely stupid. you are either qualified enough to partake in traffic or you are not. at present a p plater cant fully partake in traffic (i.e .speed restrictions) which technically limits their ability as well as causing annoyance to other road users given that i.e. they drive 80 in an overtaking zone. its a combination of poor training and arbitary regulations. the government should just make sure that you are fully qualified once you have your license.
@@BadDriversOz There is no P plate licencing in the UK, newly passed drivers buy them from a shop can put them on if they feel like it, like fuzzy dice, but in legal terms it means nothing - also like fuzzy dice ;-)
Love Sibling Rivalry at 4:48! Took a second to recognize Monet's voice, but hearing Bob secured it haha
16:10 getting annoyed at the person behind hitting you, when the only reason you stopped in time is because the car done it for you.
Nice observation, that was indeed the car braking automatically at the last second
Only a fool breaks the two second rule
