@@JMang101 the z900 will take your breath away when you open it up in full power mode for the first time. It's exhilarating. There are low power modes which I used for the first week so that I could transition smoothly without having all the power straight away.
@@happyjalapeno9397 thanks for the reply! I'm not into hooligan stuff, but I don't want to get the z650 and then eventually think "what could have been". Use case is leisure riding on weekends around town and occasional commute to work.
@@JMang101 I can say my experience to you. I had an Yamaha R3 and it was fun the first year. But then I spent the next two years thinking that I could've gone straight up for a mid-range 100+ hp bike. Now I've considered taking a 600-ish bike below 100 hp, but ain't gonna happen. I'm all-in to buy a z900 after the test ride. Waaaay much fun an excitement. Edit: Of course one can say that about pretty much any bike. But there's a certain threshold for adrenaline when riding. I'm not saying everyone should start riding in a 100hp bike. But it is just ladders of raw power to play with. Also, you can always use different riding modes to adapt yourself in.
Ive had my z900 for 3 years and 7000 miles. The seat is hard. Its heavy to move around, and the steering lock isnt great. I paid £8500 new, for that i got a bike thats fast, it keeps up with much more expensive bikes on rideouts fairly comfortably, it hoons and is huge fun. Its also easy to ride and undemanding if you just want to bob along. Im keeping it at the end of the pcp.
Excellent review, I purchased this model about 6 months ago and I love it. I did upgrade the front forks with a Ktech piston kit & put a heavier spring in the rear
Nice video mate, definitely on the list when I thin out the bike collection. The Z900 probably needs the fuelling tweaked to get rid of the flat spot. I've had the same problem with most of my bigger Kawasaki's. Usually put there to comply with "emissions" or "noise" regs.
Foreal, about another 10 or 11k. Lol, I'm actually selling my 22 MT07 and getting a Red 24 z900. I'm just waiting for the dealership to have one in stock.
Yep, you're spot on! I have the 23 Z900 SE, and the H2 here in Canada is almost DOUBLE the price, which means look at it, admire it and walk right on by the H2, lol. I could get a Z900 SE and a base Z900 for the price of an H2.
A slipper clutch and a quickshifter are both motorcycle parts that help with shifting gears, but they work in different ways: Slipper clutch Allows for more aggressive downshifting by slipping the clutch if the rear tire is moving faster than the engine. This prevents the rear wheel from locking up and skidding, which can help reduce the risk of losing control of the bike. Slipper clutches also make for a smoother ride and can help minimize the risk of over-revving the engine. However, they are more expensive than traditional clutches because they are more complex and require additional parts. Quickshifter Allows the rider to change gears without using the clutch or throttle. This can help to reduce gearbox wear and lengthen the lifespan of the bike. It can also help to improve performance and make the bike quicker. However, the smoothness of the shift can depend on the engine speed, and some engines may not quickshift well at lower RPMs.
Tested this in person and the XSR900. While I like how this bike looks, I will be purchasing the XSR900. Has more torque, quickshifter up and down, cruise control.. and a long list of features for the same price. The Z900 has a bit more HP that will only be use going 100+mph, on everything else the xsr900 takes the cake.
Hey bud! Both these are currently on my next big bike list! I like the look of this, but the xsr in blue is just dam sexy. But yeah like you said, more torque, quick shifter, cruise control ect its a no brainer
"Extra little bit", you could buy 2 of these and duct tape them together for what an H2 costs and still have enough left over for lunch. Great review, definitely my next bike.
We build All kind's of race motors and believe me almost everything that we build Hits the Dyno as soon as it's done and it doesn't hurt them...if they are put together right they Will take it nothing but the Best parts...if they use cheap parts well they Will Not last long..
I would say that lull in power is quite normal, especially for a Kawi. I've had 2 ZX-6Rs and they both had 14k rev range, I could rev it up to 7k and it wouldn't feel like you were picking up speed at all but then you would just take off like a rocket. That engine was so amazing though, I was hitting almost 100mph just from 1st gear. People would beat me off the line so easily but then I would come barreling by with a screaming engine, the '07-'08 ZX-6R's were unique beasts.
I’m about to sell my flat and start all over again and a Z900 will be doing it with me! Going to enjoy weekend trips in Scotland and bigger trips to Europe this year. Fuck it just buy it.
If you just wanna hoon around with occasional city rides definitely go for the z900, but if you are more track focused and really care about peak horsepower then go for the suzuki. The tft display is way better on the kawasaki more crisp and clear. If you are over 6’0 tall, the z might be a bit too cramped.
Just traded in a GSX S1000 for a Z900. The gsx is blisteringly fast in a straight line, but its handling is nowhere near as good as the Kwak. The gsx is ponderous at low speed and handles like barge. If you haven't already chosen GET the KWAK, you will be pleased you did.
Is it ok to push such high revs on the first 1000 km of the bike? 'cause I knew it was kinda bad and you should do it only after them but in case things changed could you let me know please? thanks!
I don’t think that 13s 1/4 is correct…my modded out ninja400 would run in the 12s so yeah…way off on that . I have the 23 model modded flashed and it’s a beast
They are both Z’s, but I wouldn’t compare it to zh2. It’s a really good middleweight. I like it so much I bought one. It’s an everyday, blast to ride. 3rd gear is everything. Only complaint, pegs are a bit low! Good vid.
Talk about fucking up the break-in. People really don’t believe it. It’s known that you have valve seals will look like shit at lower mileage from not breaking the bike in. It’s been proven.
I absolutely can't Stand when people "Gender" Bikes or Cars. Yeah, I get the thing of Beauty Bullshit, but Holy Shit it's just so cringe to listed to She, this she that !!
Sometimes even in 3th gear she will lift the front wheel. In 2nd gear no problem. I love this bike. Bought it 2 months ago and man, what an adventure
Had mine for 3 months now and absolutely love it
I went from a z125 to a z900 once id passed my test. lol, was such an experience when i felt the power for the first time
I'm thinking about doing the same, tell me all about it brodi
Can you watch explain more in detail the transition? Contemplating doing the same.

10s
Yep.
Depends on how much YOU weigh 😅
@@grimeyhonkyracing3938 The stock sprockets on the z900 are so short, I don't see weight making a big difference unless you are talking heaaaavy.

incrideble explanation my brorhter.
3:30 Specs?? Top speed is about 165 (mph). Geared up, mine does 150 in 4th. 1/4 mile - 10/11s. Frame is small. '17 model. 👍
Paying the extra little bit for the ZH2?! 😂😂😂😂 Here in America there is a huge price difference between the 2.

Maybe its different for the US but the 2024 I test drove had the quick shifter up and down right off the showroom.
Does it have ride by wire then?

Am considering a 2025 base model Z 900 / is the throttle response smooth and not abrupt, when shifting gears?
I not a kawa or Yamaha or any other brand fan, I’m a fan of the very best 900 naked so I need a comparison video with the mt09 and the speed triple

I just bought a z900rs and im sure your not supposed to go higher than 4000rpm for the first 250 miles 😄
That's why I don't buy demo bikes.
First bike was a kawa versys 650 ex demo bike, that thing drunk oil for days
I wouldn’t either one careful owner never thrashed 😂
I think 4k is too low maybe 6k instead but it probably makes plenty torque at 4k compared to my MT-03
