Althou Galadriel is trully great, I am sure Tolkien himself praised Luthien Tinuviel above all Middle-Earth women.

I also don't know about Melian (ponounced melly-yan, queen of Door-yath). She's a maia, so it's kinda like putting Gandalf in a list of the greatest men of the legendarium. It's kinda cheating.

How dare you overlook Lobelia Sackville-Baggins like that.

If there is enough interest she'll deserve a video...

@@The.Lore.Seeker To be fair, Lobelia's defiance against Saruman made her potentially more impactful than Arwen.

I think that Tolkien said that the most beautiful was Varda, then Luthien, then Melian

      No, not amazon, Tolkien!
"She (Galadriel) was proud, strong, and selfwilled, as were all the descendants of Finwë save Finarfin; and like her brother Finrod, of all her kin the nearest to her heart, she had dreams of far lands and dominions that might be her own to order as she would without tutelage." (Unfinished Tales)
"(Galadriel) was then of Amazon disposition” (The Letters of J.R.R.Tolkien, Letter 348). Tolkien only and exclusively used the term "amazon" for warrior women, Measse, Haleth and Galadriel. He explicitly said that e.g. Eowyn was not an amazon.
"Even after the merciless assault upon the Teleri and the rape of their ships, though she (Galadriel) fought fiercely against Feanor in defence of her mother's kin, she did not turn back. Her pride was unwilling to return, a defeated suppliant for pardon; but now she burned with desire to follow Feanor with her anger to whatever lands he might come, and to thwart him in all ways that she could." (Unfinished Tales)
"In him (Feanor) she perceived a darkness that she hated and feared, though she did not perceive that the shadow of the same evil had fallen upon the minds of all the Noldor, and upon her own." (Unfinished Tales)
"She (Galadriel) looked upon the Dwarves also with the eye of a commander, seeing in them the finest warriors to pit against the Orcs" - (Unfinished Tales)
"It was not until two long ages more had passed, when at last all that she (Galadriel) had desired in her youth came to her hand, the Ring of Power and the dominion of Middle-earth of which she had dreamed, that her wisdom was full grown and she rejected it, and passing the last test departed from Middle-earth for ever." (Unfinished Tales)
I think these things should have been mentioned in this video, because they are an important part of Galadriel's character. Amazon sticks pretty close to Tolkien's description of Galadriel. Her pride and her self-willness were the two greatest demons she had to fight. Only at the end of the Third Age, after she had stayed in Middle-earth for 7000 years, her wisdom was full grown and she was able to reject the Ring. Only then she passed the LAST test.

is this about the most powerful or the most beautiful women? I am sick and tired, that women are defined by their looks and not their skills/powers/achievments

I'm sorry, but I actually tried making it about their power, skills, powers, influence, beauty etc. So.. not just their beauty.
Perhaps you started watching with a different expectation?
