Going Blind From... ?

- Eye problems are relatively rare from anesthesia for ocular and non-ocular surgeries. This patient appears to have trouble seeing because she's still waking up from anesthesia, not because she's had permanent visual changes or visual loss, like permanent blindness.
Some surgeries do run the risk of visual loss, in particular prone surgeries, like spine surgery. Also, some forms of cardiac surgery, also called open heart surgery.
Fortunately, these events are quite rare with anesthesia, but small risks do exist in patients with comorbidities.
Ketamine will make your eyes shakey, blurry, and just plain feel weird. Especially in children, from my experience as a medical professional with peds experience and from my own children.
I’m not sure what drug in particular does this or maybe combination of them. But definitely patients I’ve had waking up often say their vision is blurred and are seeing double!
@@shathaaaaacus ketamine is a psychedelic/ more of a dissociative
This made me chuckle 🤭
I had 2 eye operations which made me temp blind for 5/6 days
Why are surgery preoperative rooms so cold?
I said the same thing when i woke up, the whole world was deeply blurry(I can't see!) then they told me they put stuff in my eyes to stop them from drying out, the next time I woke up I could see ok.
I also tried to get off the table in recovery, blurry blind and all cause I had to pee 🤣 i don't remember ever getting to the bathroom i must have passed out again😂
One time I was under anesthesia and my mom looked like she was sitting upside down
Like she was sitting on the ceiling???
She is basically high from anesthesia, she could just be hallucinating.
how about hearing, when i went to sleep i lost my hearing :')
When I was under anesthesia, it was just blurry for a couple minutes after you wake up, then next thing you know you can see completely fine
corneal abrasions hurt _so much._ I got a little piece of glass in my eye cleaning up a broken window (the Minnesota cold broke the window, go figure). I screamed and ran inside and my brother grabbed a flashlight and lovingly removed the glass from my eyeball. we patched up the hole in the door where the glass had been by duct taping a blanket over it, and then I drove to the ER where I had to be picked up because the cold killed my engine. 😅 I hate the winter!
I know a guy who lost an eye due to anesthesia. Got a super hefty settlement for that one. He wears a glass eye now so you can barely tell
I hope I don’t go to hell for laughing 😂
I can barely see it look so weird.
3 seconds later.
