Good to see Bob Bolton …….RIP Ron ,Dwayne and Toots Bolton sure miss them and sure built me an awesome fast BGF. Ron use to tell me before I made some passes now Let her Dangle.
And right out of the gate Wade forgot to take one of his friends out for a run. In Wade's defense they were probably too busy BS'n with friends and didn't here Wade's offer, lol... Best way to start the New Year. Thanks again for another cool video...
Another great video Jerry. It's nice to see some fast boats out on NYD, we sure don't see many at CFW these days. One of these years I'll get down to this event. Happy New Year buddy, take care and hope to see you around!
Wonderful content. My boat was built for the catalina race. The boats on display are lake boats... Most of them would either sink, or crumble going to Catalina. Just an observation. Still great content.
Did you know the Catalina ski race was mostly flatbottom boats like these back in the 60's and manv of them were still competing into the 70's? Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@vdrivevideo Yes I did know, My father finished 3rd. And (since im the current owner). would wup any of those lake boats in the Catalina Race. The draft is too shallow. And glass too thin. Not constructed for a real endurance race in the Pacific ocean. My boat has a 392 chrysler and is very stoutly built. Those Lake boats won't be too hot, when they sink to the bottom of the catalina channel . I plan on racing this year, If the lake boats want race. have them sign up.
Back to the 70s and 80s, we used to ski to Catalina, early in the morning, on Saturday, with a 17 foot Schiada flatbottom. Anchor it in Avalon, sleep on the beach after partying. Then ski back to Long Beach on Sunday morning. Great hangover cure, to ski home at 7am Sunday. Only had a bad ride a few times. Timing your crossing is key. Almost any well built ski boat has no problems doing it...if you use your head, and respect the ocean. Did it many, many times.
Im looking by internet were to get all kinds a parts forthose type a boat like propeller shaft and all parts i need to like transmission shaft assembly and i can not reach no site so i can choose what i need for reason than i want to build my own flat bottom boat myself so if anyone can help me so welcome to reach me in here .Thanks in advance / Daniel
