When I was an OTR truck driver I would drive by places like that in TN and think "Damn, I wish I was on that water right now instead of driving this stupid thing."
Sucks I couldn't make it down to run with you all, got buffaloed with work, a buddy Troy was there with his XB 225 PM @ 6:00 . Can't ask for a better place to run.
Can you please explain a little bit on the different Merc outboards that you see in your video? Like the building year and so on? Most have 2.5 on the hood, but are basically the same as my '2000 225PS EFI. What has changed? (like optimax)
Most of the 2.5 EFIs are actual Mercury Racing built motor or lower unit. They have little or no commonalty to your 225 variant. I have owned both racing 2.4 and 2.5 EFI offshore. I now have V8 Merc racing 300R. Instead of describing here the stark differences, suggest you do some independent research. The info is out there.
Well, mine smokes the same at startup -lol- I got what you mean we don't see the 2.5 engines in Europe hence the curiosity. Thanks for responding. Is your V8 the one in the video?@@johnross6314
@@JanPeters unfortunately due to global environmental regulations, Mercury Racing cancelled production on the various 2.5+ two strokes. At this point the V8, V10, V12 platforms are used on single/multi engine high/racing performance outboards. Much heavier. You may have in past in Europe off shore racing catamarans with multiple 2.5 on the back. The small sized “F1” racing boats in Europe used to use a smaller displacement version. Much of same tech. The are different in many small ways. Especially the different lower unit. Europe also might have outboard drag racing boats. Those, like the USA, are modified Mercury Racing 2.5 EFI. The offshore 2.5 are essentially the same as many of those on this channel. No, that is not my boat with the 300R on the back. Thanks for asking.
@@JanPeters no, not mine on the video. We are looking to buy a place on water near some of this fun crew travels. Then we will join them. Cruising the rivers, and getting some sun in the shallow sandy bottom fresh water springs inlets. :) we are up north part of USA most of the time. Thanks for the comment.
First, I like your channel and I wanna continue subscribing. However, as much as I like seeing and hearing the boats run, IMHO you are leaving waaaay too much content/info on the table. Again, just my opinion, but who are you producing this content for? It looks like it's video that you and your friends wanna see. The average viewer is not gonna watch more than 10 minutes before changing the channel cause after a while it all looks the same. Why?? Because you don't show the boats in context and personalize them. You devote lots of time to the boats on the water and then disrespect them by running past/time lapsing them on the ramp. Tell folks about the boats. Interview the owners. Tell viewers how to get more involved or where they can get more info about the boats. Or is your focus just about making sure the cliche gets to survive? I know this sounds harsh, but your channel could be sooo much more. You and your channel have an opportunity and I'd like to see you be the cleetus of performance boating. Because if you don't do it, someone else will. So why not you??? Thanks for listening.
Hunter is doing a great job, he inspired me to male a channel here in Australia boatznthehood. It may be just a ordinary video to you but we all have lives family and jobs, this is us doing the best we can with what little time we have left available. Not everyone can sit and edit videos for hours on end, 90% of viewers don't even subscribe let alone like or comment. BTW cleetus has a team of about 8-12 people that contribute towards bringing top notch edits to life, this cliche of boat content imo will always be dedicated to the hardcore enthusiasts till the death, not the other 90% that are only in it for a 10min Max dopamine hit. Hunter my door is always open for you here in Australia and I hope to visit you one day, would be a bucket list checkoff for me 👊❤️
@joshuaryan1673 : I'm always fascinated by folks who feel compelled to come to the defense of someone they don't even know. Be that as it may, your excuses about time for editing and such are just that. If Hunter wasn't interested in growing his channel and making it more profitable, he wouldn't ask "like and subscribe". He also has invested in "Merch". Which indicates he's serious about this as an income generating business. Which is why I provided feedback in a positive way. I'm sorry your butt got hurt because I dared to say something about your idol. The bottom line in a business is to meet or exceed your customers (that would be me and any others that watch/subscribe) expectations. And how would Hunter ever do that if folks like me didn't take the time to tell him what we wanted??? You think an echo chamber of folks like you will do that? As for cleetus, he started out just like Hunter. For the record, I'll continue to follow the channel. He's got something I feel is appealing. But his channel will never grow if it's the same basic theme of boats riding along.
@tda3fjr hahaha yeah ok, the only butt hurt I feel is not being able to be out in these cool boats, but we do our best to put people in the driver's seat with what we have to work with. We can't please every Karen and appreciate every viewer non the less. In every outting I can film upto 40G worth of data do you know what it takes or the computer software required to process that before editing? It's a big job to say the least. I see your own advice is really working for your channel
Great Video - Some nice boats there for sure. Fun seeing all the different brands. Awesome!!
Wow, did not expect to see you in my area! I hope you enjoyed the grand canyon of TN!
Looks like fun. I've always wanted to check at Marion Co. park. Now that my jet boat is finished I'll have to check it out.

It sounds like you need make your own channel instead of criticizing this one.
