Dealing with SUICIDAL THOUGHTS

Vertical Lines is a short film that deals with the difficult subject of Suicide, and it’s writers told a story that is based upon their own life experience. The comments we received we so powerful we wanted to do a follow up video in which Kyle and Nick sifted through the comments, answering questions, and clarify choices made while making the short film. During that interview we also captured them both talking about their own personal journey with suicide. Thank you for being so vulnerable and sharing such intimate details about your journey in hopes it will help others with their own struggle.

I think one thing we need to tell people in our community is to make promise to yourself that you will NEVER commit suicide. Its very powerful when we make a sincere promise to ourselves. It helps us get through hard times and to think of other ways to cope with bad times in our lives.

Several comments, if I may- all positive. I am so glad that both of these guys fought and won their battles against suicide. Both of them and everyone else has a GREAT life ahead of them, if they ignore the ignorant homophobic public. I wish there was a platform like The Queer Network and others when I was young.... No, I never considered suicide- I am too much of a coward to take my own life. However, I was MISERABLE for many years, (sorry, yes, I am gay- should have said that) living in my own shell, not wanting to deal with the horrible comments and such. I am now 67 years old- still in the closet- but I have, as Nick said, seen and enjoyed MANY things now, that I might have missed, had I ever considered suicide. I am here to say that if you can get thru the tough parts, there is a silver lining to life. I may not be open like the newer generation, as I am a baby boomer, and raised with SEVERE HOMOPHOBIC AND HATE COMMENTS for all of my life, but I am grateful for platforms like this, and for other You Tubers who I follow, who are now enjoying life, out of the closet. It give me HOPE, and GREAT JOY to see the younger queer generation living as they should live, happy. At my age, I am happy to live my life thru the You Tube videos of happy LGTBQ+ people.... See, it IS worth staying alive- one just has to find what makes them happy.... Sorry for the NOVEL, that I wrote... I hope it helps some younger people continue, and not consider the alternative of suicide... Thanks!
