I am so proud of these guy’s the accomplishments and achievements 🎉 Ricky I am so proud of him displaying his vocals and Bobby you did your thing and I felt the soul you put in your singing. Of course Johnny is so excellent with fire from his voice. I didn’t forget Mike and Ronnie their stage performances is always beautiful. Now Mr. Ralph always look so professional and stage presence is always a show stopper.🎉❤ Love these wonderful men I am so proud of them.

Me too. Seems like he took this performance a little more serious than some the NE concerts. He didn't miss a step. He was winded, but he still didn't embarrass the brothers. They probably had a talking with him like "aight nigga, don't be embarrassing us in a room full of wealthy white folk, this ain't one of our concerts". 😂😂😂

NE in my opinion has always had some of the best choreography of all time. Thanks to Brooke Payne; these guys are still tearing the stage up.
Some of my favorite numbers are their dance moves on "If It Isn't Love" and their performance of "Not My Kinda Girl" on Soul Train.
That’s my generation displaying excellence. I remember being a young man listening to my grandmother play this group on her record player Saturday mornings. Now, those were good times!!! Temptations, The O ‘Jays, The Whispers, etc. NE are the best performers along side The Jackson’s to grace the stage.

New Edition is RnB black excellence from my Era and they brought me right back to my childhood (with this performance) when my parent's played their Era's RnB music The Spinners, Earth, Wind & Fire, Blue Magic, Ray, Goodman & Brown, The Stylistics, Sly & The Family Stone and my all time fav The Whispers. There are countless RnB groups whose music my parent's played during my childhood and I'm forever grateful 🙏 ❤🍫👑🖋🎤🔥😌✌.

They killed this!!! I watched last night. I was so proud of them. I was nervous when I saw Bobby out there but even he kept up and sounded pretty good!!! (He messed up a few moves but bless his heart lol.). I knew Spinners songs, but it wasn’t until their tribute montage that I saw the influence they no doubt had on NE’s choreographer. That was the PERFECT tribute on so many levels. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Thank you for this video!!

It's New Edition's time. There is no way in hell for them not to be inducted at this point. It's good to see Ricky get his shine. Bobby did well too. Yes, he needs to lose some weight and get his stamina/energy back, but after all he's been through, it's a true blessing that he's still alive. Glad to see this brother seeming to find peace and purpose now. NE in the RRHOF, hopefully coming soon!

What video were you watching? He was so out of breath he could barely breathe! Surprisingly his voice was better than Gill, who at one point turned the mic towards the audience, so they could fill in for him. Sad, really.
Bobby is older and heavier than the other NE members. He did good and kept up the dance choreography. His singing voice was great, better than Gill.

I could hardly see the screen for the HAPPY tears! I am 64 and all I could think was who else could do this??!! NE is all we have left of REAL R&B music!! Young people aren't singing and dancing together any more!! I LOVE that they included the Soul Train dancers. I'm going on the Soul Train cruise in January and I can't wait💃💃🤗🤗
They did a 2 for 1 with the last song. Don Cornelius was also inducted at this ceremony. Immediately after this performance they played a video tribute to Don.

I love New Edition! What a beautiful tribute to the Spinners. The Spinners so deserve this. I don't care how old you are, or what color you are, you know their songs. The Spinners are a very important part of the fabric of American music. I wish the original members were alive to see this tribute. They would be so proud. Well done, New Edition.
the only living original member Henry Fambrough along with John Edwards (member from 1977 to 2000 - a stoke that left him paralyzed forced him into retire) were there in the audience to see it

Never! They are a third rate POP group. The Spinners were a first rate rhythm and blues group, Little Richard was a rock pioneer, Dolly Pardon is a country icon, so on and so forth. You don’t play baseball with a football, why mix rock and roll with soul. Both are great separately, taking nothing from the other.
How are these guys not in the Rock& Roll Hall of Fame? They just announced the 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees. No New Edition, but they inducted A Tribe Called Quest. Really!! They only had 5 top10 hits. New Edition has 17 top 10 hits.

A great group on so many levels. I am so happy for them. I should say though, the saying better late than never does have merit, but for the Spinners just getting in is a musical tragedy. A better saying is better never late. To the responsible and/or irresponsible Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, The Spinners said it best in 1970, although with a different meaning, yet I’ll adopt the lyrics and say, IT IS A SHAME. “Why don't you free me, from this prison.”

brought....me...to...tears. Because I was thinking, as I watched this "what's missing in music today?" And it's the legendary soul groups like the Spinners and the Dells and Enchantment, etc. Those groups are/were so damn special. And the sight of Johnny Gill, skipping and boppin' across the stage, took me there. I started crying...because it was as if, Philippe Wynn had showed up in spirit...and showed out. The Spinners...in the top 3, of the greatest 'soul groups' that ever did the damn thing.
Different time and era, move on. New Edition with Candy Girl, and Cool it Now, was a woeful (in the right place at the right time, during the birth of music videos) pop group that came and went, nothing to cry about. Thank Face and Reid for blowing up BB, and Whitney for keeping him relevant. As for Gill, never mind, he’s embarrassing.BBD was more pop bubble gum, that loses its flavor after only a few chews.

Actually my dear, my criticism foremost is the inclusion of the Spinners (who I love) into this pathetic Rock Hall of Fame. Once the conversation veered into the ridiculous (NE future induction) I was forced into being critical of that. Just an opinion, not all need to agree.
