I’ve been struggling with Spanish on my own for two years. Since I found this channel a month ago, it has helped me immensely. This is easily understood and it’s not so long that your attention wanders. What a great find.
Phil - Same here. Danny is a fantastic teacher for making tough stuff seem easy. Always great videos!
Spanish is about learning of verbs. You need to allocate 80 percent of your study time for verbs. Anyway it's the easiest European language to learn despite the fact that Spanish verb grammar is the most difficult.
Lol no french is harder
100% it is all about practice, you have to be open minded in learning any language.
Yes sir! It's all about practice.
@Duncan Billy script kiddie shit
@@TheLanguageTutorI have questions which is ser and estar
@@TheLanguageTutorSpanish or vanish! ¡Gracias profesor!
I have a great Spanish teacher from Mexico, but when it comes to explanations of tenses, grammar etc your videos are easier to understand. I never received any lessons in school (years ago) on English grammar rules, tenses etc. You explain everything so clearly and I believe the mix of your videos and my face to face classes will increase my hope of attaining my goal. Thank you.
¡Hola! Señor Danny. I actually couldn't regonize you, you are so changed. I used to watch your videos years ago..your lessons for beginners.. you looked so formal then.. happy to see the change. I really wanna appreciate you for the work you are doing. Anyone can learn a language through your ways. Keep it up sir. I adore you. Will be following you always
Gracias as always Sir... from Philippines...💝
you're the best Spanish teacher in UA-cam ever! it's a shame you don't have much subscribers
You are so nice! Thank you! I believe I will keep growing and have lots of subscribers one day.
@@TheLanguageTutorim confused with fui fuiste etc is that ser or estar which context?
One of the things I love about this channel is how he says "you can do it". Normally when other teachers say "you can do it" I think they're just saying it but don't mean it. But when Danny says it I really feel that he believes in us and that he's sure we'll master Spanish. Thank you for all the lessons Danny :D
And thank you supporting the channel!!
Funny I thought the exact same thing when he said that. I know it seems small on the surface but therein lies the point. The surface doesn't have much credibility anymore. Speaking personally, life experiences have made me effortlessly hyper-aware of deception and I don't think I'm alone here. I think it's why people watch this channel and gravitate towards genuine people like Danny. It's also why good will ultimately prevail over evil so it's not such a small thing after all. 😅
This is one area where English is astronomically easier lol. 2 words cover both preterit and imperfect and ALL pronouns.
Exactly!!
Absolutely🤦🏾♀️😂
And the negative forms such as wasn’t and weren’t
I was thinking the same while watching this video.
Estaba pensando lo mismo cuando estaba viendo este vídeo.

Your way of teaching is Simply outstanding bravo Sir 🙏
Thanks fue,era estaba and estuve have driven me mad since I started studying Spanish
Me too 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Me, too.
And in such a short video he just unlocked the complex confusion I have been unable to solve for so long. Kudos
You are absolutely the best teacher in the world! THANK YOU for your work!
¡Hola amigos! Soy Indio y hablo Marathi.Estoy probando aprendir Español.Español es una lengua muy hermosa.Esta lengua es poco dificil aprender pero el estilo de Danny de aprender Español lo hace facil.Muchas gracias Danny.Usted es muy bueno maestro.
How did I even understand this?
Hola!, soy de India también y aprendiendo Español.
@@myk1137 bro idk myself, I thought my spanish sucked
Thanks for this.
Your videos are so incredibly helpful. Thank you for all that you do!
Thank you for finally teaching me this...it's no longer a mystery, God Bless YOU !
😁🤣💖
💰
thank you Dr. Evans. this was immensely helpful to work through these side by side, with the different conditions.
Thanks a lot for this lesson ----- found a clear picture of Preterit and Imperfect tenses
That's great to hear!
I want to thank you so much for doing this lesson. It has opened up so much for me. I have looked at several language tutors and you are by far the best tutor/teacher I have seen. I have learned so very much from you. Your lessons are very easy to understand. Today I was struggling with the "forms of was" and there you were, available and able to help me. Thank you so very much again for this lesson. I look forward to learning more. Hasta luego !
I covered this a while back in a class but never really nailed it down. This video helped immensely. Seeing the charts side by side was something of a lightbulb moment. Thank you!
thank you so much sir!! you are an inspiration!
This is the verb tense that gave me the most problems. Then later you study the verb "ir (to go)" in pretirito which is the same conjugation as "ser", talk about mind blowing. Seriously the headache of it made me take a pause in the studying. But when I came back to it after a week, it got easier. Yes, the discipline of practice and repeat. This teacher did a good job with ser vs estar.
This has cleared my mind
Sir, are you well??? You were not smiling as usual.. you seems sad in this video.. 😟
Maybe you will not gonna tell but i pray for you.. A very good healthy life.. you are very good person & teacher.. i hope lord will fulfill your all needs and give his bless in very unexpected way 🙏
Yes, our perfect teacher is looking sick 😣😣
Oh no! I'm so sorry I wasn't as upbeat as usual. I'm doing really well and I appreciate you checking on me. It means a LOT to me that you took time to write this and I really appreciate it. But yes, I am great! I guess I was just in serious mode when I filmed.
Thank you for considering the questions on comments, the one about "el hablaba" and "el estaba ablando" was so helpful 💙💙💙
Woah!! I was waiting for this one for a long time. Thank you so much Sir Danny.
You're welcome friend!
Love you Sir , I feel privileged to have you, thank you a lot
Love from INDIA ❤️

I’ve been watching this teacher since the first UA-cam channel he was in. It’s great that I found your new youtube channel again! Eres un gran maestro! ✨
So glad you found the new channel! We hope you enjoy.
Hi Danny
I have just found you on you tube and I love the way you explain things - you are an excellent teacher, thanks so much!
Thank you for watching Kathy!!
This was great thank you!!! My biggest issue while learning Spanish, I was getting frustrated. This explanation was amazing, can’t wait to use it in practice and finally get over that hurdle! :)
Muy buena explicación. He hablado español por mas de 40 años y siempre luchó con esto. Ahora entiendo mejor. Gracias por los videos.
You really are my hero. I have struggled with this for SO long but now I think I'll be able to work it out! Gracias muchísimas! 👏🙏👏🙏👏🙏
You are so nice! Thank you. I'm just glad I can help you.
Best thing about you sir we don't feel screens.. like you are talking with ME and teaching while standing next to me
That's great to hear! I'm glad it seems that way.
Aaaaah thank you so much for this! I was getting so confused with all the different versions of "was" and was clueless on how to apply them. This made it crystal clear - thank you so much! Now just to practice it :D Greetings from South Africa
Hi I am from India and speak Malayalam. After watching the video on UA-cam I started learning Spanish. Thanks a lot you made it easier.
Just wow! Gracias Profe.
I love the clarifications. You also have a good teaching way. It's definitely helping. TY.
De nada, I'm so glad I could help! Thank you!
Muchas Gracias...
I have been misusing them when speaking to native friends but luckily they are correcting me and I think along with this video I have a basic sense of when to use them
I would love a podcast practice episode for this lesson! Great lesson, it really helped me grasp "was/were".
THANKS SO MUCH!!!!
this hurts my head when I try to think about cause searching doesn't provide all the information needed
I understand. It takes some time to sort all this out but you CAN do it.
Great video. Really helps to have the charts beside each other too
That's great to hear!
Thank you for this clear explanation. I got it!
I’m not sure if anyone already mentioned this but it seems to be video messes up a bit at around 6:44 or so, it skips. Just wanted to let you know. This video and all your videos are beyond helpful, thank you so much!
Great lesson, thanks for posting.
You're welcome!
Thank you! I really needed this!
thanks alot
Finally. 3 UA-cam videos later and a friend trying to explain it I finally get it. Thank you for this simple breakdown. I was feeling like a real idiot for not getting it!

MUCHAS GRACIAS 🙏🙏🙏 I was soooo profoundly confused until I found your video. Great job 🙋🙌❤️
Can we talk in Spanish
Thank you very much I spoke in Barcelona with older people on the bench in the park. Because they have time and I think they want to meet people in the evening.
Hello and I usually use you explanations as one of the best explanations of a particular concept . Not so with your lesson on the 4 kinds of "was". I ran it by a young gal from Venezuela. Ugg!! Her reaction was "Forget Rules. Learn it like I leaned it -I created one typical sentence for each "was", and memorized them. Each time I needed a "was" I picked the "was" in the most similar sentence. Over time I needed less and less thinking."
Rules can be helpful, but you are right, the best practice is conversation.
I really like this episode can you please make an episode on adjectives? I really want to practice my spanish😊
And I really like your eps. of spanish really easy to understand because other teachers are too confusing, they speak too fast or not explained properly.
That's why you are the best teacher on the internet
👇like if you agree😊👍❤

This cleared my mind. Then confused it. Then cleared it again.. 👍🏻
Great!

A great lesson!
thumbs up from a subscriber. one day I will start from lesson 1 thru your latest, it will be awesome to learn from the beginning
Gracias por este lección. Estaba esperarar por esa lección y ahora es aqui pero es muy deficil😅.
Dale tiempo y práctica. Even for us in schools learning all the different times and conjugations are difficult. It's lotd of practice. Keep it up. Being a Spanish speaker is nice seeing how many people try to learn our language.
Keep practicing! You can do it!
Best lessons!
hi there.. i tried to join the language tutor on facebook unluckiy i was denied for some reason but i am really looking forward to be a member of the group since i am studying spanish language and hoping to be hired someday as a spanish rep..
Thank you! That really helped 😊
You're welcome!
Hi Sir Danny! Muchas Gracias por este video. Can you also make a video on how to use " te, ti, tu, lo, le, " cuz these kinda confuse me when composing Spanish sentences. Thank u so much!
Good idea. I have covered these but it may help to see them all at once.
@@TheLanguageTutor Thank you so much! Looking forward. God bless.
Great Lesson
Gracias!
Do you have a profile on italki or some other website where you teach 1 on 1 online?
If not, you should DEFINITELY make one, i bet a lot of people would book an appointment with you...
Helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Amazing.
I highly dislike the past tense, but you break down each lesson so I can understand it. Muchas gracias, and keep up the good work!
Awww... gracias mi hija. Eres la luz en mi vida.
Amor de padre e hija .. God bless your family with a health wealth and happiness🙏
Muy importante para aprender español
Another great video tahnk you. A question though - you draw a distinction between going to college (3-4 years, I guess) using ESTAR and being young (15 years?) using SOY.
But they are both for periods of time which end. At what point does one slide into the other? Anyone?
thank you
You're welcome
El estaba hablando... Leaves me confused Dr Evens, I thought ando could only be used for something currently happening right now, this gives me insight that you can also use Imperfect form and - ando to say it WAS happening at that very moment, I love learning Spanish it's so intresting too me
Yo fui alumno en la universidad en 2012 refers a period of time. So we can also use era as imperfect tense
You are Lord for me
Im just a beginner in learning Spanish,I think there is the way to build the sentence like in English.I would like to know how to build the sentence very basically before I go ahead to grammar.Would you please help for that Dr in your free time.🙏🙏
You are great
I was a student at university in the past refers a period of time ( ongoing time ) so we have to use imperfect
i will admit i love your videos but i was a little bit confused in this one im going to watch it again
wish you gave more examples using fui and era
i still don’t understand- normally you give more examples and that helps a lot
Greatttttt teacher.
Thank you! 😃
So quick question was told you can use estuve as “I have been” so I’m wondering how do you use ? And when you say interchangeable does that mean for that verb u can use either one ?
Hola Dr. Evans, may I know if you also offer online tutoring? If so, how can I contact you?
Hola Joanne! Send me an email at dannyevans3371@gmail.com
Can we talk in Spanish
can you sometimes use estaba and estuve at anytime ? like for example "i was in madrid last week" can we use either one in this case ? since estaba is describing location and estuve is describing a time period
Being an alumni seems like it’s ongoing as well… kinda seems like could use ser in the imperfect to say I was an alumni too, since after you graduate from university you continue to be an alumni indefinitely
