    At 3:42, you write that "I have not seen him since the reunion" is "No lo había visto desde la reunion." But the Spanish translates to "I had not" instead of "I have not."

    Thank you so much for the video, your teaching style is very good for me. I find that I can take in the information easier and if I don't understand or want to take time taking things in, I can just jump back a few minutes or press pause. In classes I find I miss quite a bit either taking notes or trying to work things out in my mind, so for me and many others I'm sure, this way works best.These videos are brilliant. Thanks again.

    Thanks for the lesson. Something is however not clear in my mind. Can we say indifferently "desde" or "desde hace" for the same meaning? When do we have to use "desde" alone without "hace"?

    • @nelsonrivas7397
      @nelsonrivas7397 3 роки тому +1

      On the one hand "desde" alone, implies since a specific point in the past until today. For example: Lo conozco desde 2010 (I've known him since 2010). Estoy aquí desde que empezó la reunión (I've been here since the meeting began).
      On the other hand, "desde hace" means "for a period of time": Lo conozco desde hace once años (I've known him for eleven years). Estoy aquí desde hace dos años (I've been here for two years).

    hey Danny, It's off topic with the video but I was watching money heist in Spanish (with subtitles though) and I was confused as they sometimes use "lo" as him despite it being a Spanish show not one in LatinAmerica. Is there some rule to this or does it just change depending on the person or something?

    • @sford
      @sford 3 роки тому

      My current understanding of this is that lo functions as a direct object pronoun: lo conozco, I know him, whereas le is an indirect object pronoun: le doy, I give to him. While there are certainly differences between the Spanish spoken in Spain and Latin America, I would actually assume that this is not one of them.
