i am 76 years old and have seen and heard all the great icons of rock and roll. elvis, chuck berry, fats domino, little richard, jackie wilson, the everly brothers and now jerry lee lewis. when this music broke in 1956 ( i was 8 years old ) i thought these guys would be around forever but nothing is forever.
I'm 27, my nana and papaw passed recently I'll never let this kind of music die I play it at work while I'm workin on the cars. I especially like Jerry Lewis, Elvis Presley, chuck berry, and Johnny cash.
Don't forget george jones. If anybody ever had a dream to sing like someone it be george. He has weeks of music to listen to and a story behind almost every one.
I wish I would have seen him live. The man is the true King of Rock-n-Roll, both musically and how he chose to live his life and conduct himself in public. He is an American icon and treasure whose legacy is second to nobody. We are lucky that our lives crossed paths with his, it's that simple. RIP King. . .
Onvergetelijk ❤🇳🇱🙏🌹🎹 ( MAART 2022)
I'm a 70 year old great grandmother, but I still love Jerry Lee, I use to have all his records but lost them ice a fire back in the 80s, I like to listen to him here. Thank you
Genius! What an amazing version of this Webb Pierce classic song. Part gospel, part rock-a-billy, part country. If you think it's easy to sing like Jerry Lee Lewis, just sing along with him.
Apart from his cousin Jimmy Lee Swaggart. He plays Rock n Roll piano to JESUS all the time and I have to remind him and the saxophonist, Bob Henderson that they're in Chapel now😆 We love Jerry Lee and Jimmy Lee and their Rock n Roll fingers 💕💝💗💖💓💞 💛💙💛💙💛💙 👸🏻💖👑🇬🇧💝👸🏻 🥰🇯🇲🏴🕊️🔥✝️
I first met Jerry Lee Lewis when I interviewed him at KVEG Radio in Las Vegas in 1963. He was appearing at the Thunderbird Hotel (which later became the Silverbird). He was a nice man then and also a nice person when I talked with him at The Palomino Club in North Hollywood in the 1989s and 1990s. He seems wild and crazy on the stage but he is a quiet conversationalist. He definitely inspired my piano playing.
Jerry Lee has/had a lot more finesse and ability on piano than some critics acknowledge. Check out his solo playing midway through this live London 1983 gig. His country hits singing, when he made his 'comeback' on Mercury Records (Smash label) is as good as any country star ever did. Soulfully sung, with unique phrasing. Wishing the Killer well here in 2019, with his recovery from a stroke earlier this year. Much respect for a fabulous career that has millions of fans all over the globe.
Jerry Lee is the best. After Jerry Lee was old and under appreciated , he would occasionally come right here on youtube with a message for his fans ,that he was alive and well. And that he was grateful for all his fans. I say with much respect.
wow this song gives me the chills. The feeling he puts in to the song. Jerry lee lewis great piano player he plays gospel rock n roll country blues he could play anything.
The fantastic piano bridges on "Crazy Arms" and "You Win Again" show Jerry Lee's gospel heritage. That's piano plunking with soul! Jerry Lee and his cousins Mickey Gilly and Jimmy Swaggert all play piano in that same, gospel-driven style. Doesn't get much better than that.
Yep reminds me of hearing my dad shred the exact same way growing up. He was assembly of God pastor and I'll say that there's something to that. Anyway, some of the most "killer" music ever.
You’ve obviously never heard of Rick Wakeman. I’m not saying Jerry isn’t one of the few greatest 🔑 piano men in last century. Rick Wakeman and Keith Emerson may have been the best in my opinion but only because they were classically trained or have more schooling. For a self taught musician though he may have been the “Best on the Planet in the 1900’s anyway.
Again and again I can't believe how good he is. One of the GREATEST singers (and an excellent, self taught piano player) with this certain ability (that only very few inherit), that gives his songs a unique, timeless quality, so that, when you listen to them again after a while, it is as if you'd listen to them for the first time again...
Many modern day bands and singers have to use help in the studios and sound rooms, but these guys needed nothing but their raw talent and they had a ton of it. Jerry Lee singing and playing could make you feel chills.
Sick at heart here in Louisiana now that he's gone. Thank God for You-Tube so we can watch a huge selection of videos over and over and over, and some rare ones many fans have never seen before.
I saw Jerry Lee a few years back. He started playing this song and a kid in the crowd yelled "Rock n' Roll", Jerry Lee stopped playing and said "this is "Rock n' Roll son". The band went back into the song and the crowd went crazy. Rock on!!!
Amy Estep-Lake I love all kinds of music, and thousands of different performers, but when it comes to "Rock n' Roll I'm thinkin' "Whole Lotta' Shakin" and "Great Balls of Fire". Always keep an open mind and enjoy every note you hear, it's good for you.
Me too! It was my gift for my 15th birthday, instead of having a arty, I asked for a trip to Memphis and o Jerry Lee's masion...I'll never forget it (though he wasn't around)
THIS IS MUSIC,,,COUNTRY THAT IS....OMG,,, memories of going with my dad (greatest painter on the east coast) dragging us to car shows all my young youthful life,,,( I will take my 89 Camaro RS built,,,to car shows and get lots of compliments on it but not as many as when I crank up the Jerry Lee Lewis,,,, memories,,,)..loved it. This music always played.....I'm 49 now and still miss this music and my dad,,,,he was cool,,,,this generation can use that word,,but they have no idea what that word means,,,LOVE IT
In 1963-1965 I was in the US Army. I was in the post NCO club where the guy running the bar area and played a lot of J.L Lewis songs and video. We all loved it. A few truths here and there. It was Fort Hamilton, Brooklyn NYC. And I was only a PFC. the guy in charge was from the south and let us young jerks in. My civilian home was in NYC. Jerry Lee was FANTASIC.
Jerry said it right. His cover of "Crazy Arms" just reach right out & grabbed you when you heard it for the first time or the thousandth time. It will always be a favorite of mine and I was 9 years old when I first heard this every hour on the local radio station & we only got just 1 station. And the record of this tune had to be replaced many times on my Dad's Bar jukebox because it got played so often over about 10 or 12 years because that the records kept wearing out from being played so often. NOW THAT IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A TUNE IS A GIANT HIT. Thanks so much for posting this so I can keep on listening to it like I do so often-(my turntable, 8 track player, cassette player, CD player, and computer CD player are all broke right now & I have this song in every format, and the local radio DJ's can not find a copy either-probably wore out too.) It just don't get no better than this Jerry Lee Lewis classic tune which is a mix of country and Rock n Roll!
I feel a tear slip out now when I watch him singing and playing. I'm so sad he's gone. My favorite artist forever. RIP Jerry Lee, thank God we have your music until we see you again.
This is my all time favourite song and all time favourite live performance. 1:28 : Nodding Jerry style putting mike aside and let the piano do the talkin´. Jerry should have been inducted into the country music hall of fame a long time ago. Both his vocal and piano playing is pure yellow gold!
I like this version the best but couldn’t find it on iTunes when I tried to buy it. So I will just listen to my iTunes songs and when it comes to this song I just go on UA-cam for it.
The one and the only!!! What talent this man has.. Love him.. There has been no other to come close to this man and his talent.. Just saying!!! What a hunk he was!! WOW!!!

I sure do miss the 70s and 80s. The music today is not even the same. Sometimes I wish I could find a time machine and go back in time. Life was much easier and everyone enjoyed life! Is this your favorite song?
No doubt about it. Carve it in stone. Jerry Lee Lewis is the greatest vocal and piano act of all time, ever, in the entire past, present, and future history of this universe and all others that may or may not be out there.
1956 and still this song is as fresh as the day it was recorded. The talent that Sun records and our Sun record heros are having a ball in heaven. R.I.P. Jerry Lee.

Jerry came to S.W. Mississippi in 1959,.75 cents to attend, didn't have it,sorry I missed out in great talent
modern music is nothing... this is pure talent , classic vibes, beautiful melodies, , when i listen to jerry lee lewis i feel happiness

There is good modern music, there is bad classic oldies. I think its pretty narrow minded to think there is no good modern music
I'm a 70 year old great grandmother, but I still love Jerry Lee, I use to have all his records but lost them ice a fire back in the 80s, I like to listen to him here. Thank you

Sorry to hear you lost them. This is a great way to enjoy the killers music though.
My first 45 great balls o fire
Love nana
Genius! What an amazing version of this Webb Pierce classic song. Part gospel, part rock-a-billy, part country. If you think it's easy to sing like Jerry Lee Lewis, just sing along with him.
The song was recorded and made popular by Ray Price, not Webb Pierce.
We are both wrong; it was written by Ralph Mooney and Chuck Seals.

Jerry Lee is one of the most underrated country singer of all time. He is know for his rock stuff, but his country is so much better.
